Melianthe moves to Seren's side after her target falls asleep. Cherias steps up and calls out a prayer that invigorates your party. Seren then casts his obscuring darkness spell, shrouding the nearby area in hazy twilight.

Segang shifts, earth breaker swinging at the Gray Maiden. She deflects the attack with a trained shield parry, and the heavy hammer careens onto an adjacent cot, crushing its invalid occupant.

Segang miss hits patient?: 1d100 ⇒ 27

The Gray Maiden retaliates, but takes an off-balance step and misses Segang's neck by a few inches. "Fall back, out of this sorcerous mist!" she commands, stepping into the gloom away from Segang (and by chance, closer to Cherias).

GM1 vs Segang (PA): 1d20 + 11 - 2 ⇒ (6) + 11 - 2 = 15; Miss Chance: 1d100 ⇒ 79; Miss hits patient?: 1d100 ⇒ 81

Remember you cannot see beyond 5 feet, and don't forget miss chance in the twilight haze...

I always go high is good for the party. My misses are always low. I pretty much thought everyone chose this standard.

Absinthe rolls to flank the physician, jabbing him in the kidney. In the gloom, she struggles to find a precise vulnerability.

The physicians silently withdraw into the twilight haze, out of sight.

Absinthe gets an AoO on her target as he leaves the second threatened space...

If I'm not mistaken, no one else has taken damage since the previous round. So Segang's damage goes down to 21, Absinthe's to 12, and Cherias now has 20 damage. With the healing below, Absinthe is at full, Segang is at 7, and Cherias is at 6.

Cherias channels warm, healing energy, excluding the foes nearby, but not excluding the patients lying in the beds. So if that one that Segang hit happens to still be alive somehow, this will heal them.

channel energy: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 4) = 14

"Stop this violence! We're all on the same side here, right? We want to cure this plague!" he says to the Grey Maiden, before backing away closer to his friends.

Negative. You have a chance of hitting patients with a stray attack. I explained it at the beginning of combat.

I think we need to fight and win this fight. Failure here lets these Grey Maidens spin our entry here the way they want it and we may very well have a price on our heads. We need to find and expose some wrong doing on their part I think. So I see retreat as a critical error.

Melianthe takes the rope and grappling hook from Segang. Absinthe and Cherias wait, and Seren begins to shut down his spell.

"Yes, I can hear them moving," their sergeant replies. "Stand ready for anything."

Melianthe, Absinthe and Cherias have one more turn before Seren cancels the mist... Segang too if he delays a step. Any inputs?
