Am actually trying to both keep the players together while trying to further the character's (Sunys) own aims.

So... Pim and Lion joining with Dim and Noro on the same ship while Suny sails along side? It won't take the plucky Elf but a moment to swim across the distance and join in anything that happens. (^_^)

Things 'We' need.

Places to stay out of the weather and sleep well/protected. (Long halls/houses/huts initially come to mind.

Places to 'Put' things for storage. Again more long halls/huts. Which will keep the weather off the stuff and have controlled access etc.

While building defenses is good... currently we do have two ships in harbor which we could shift around to act as floating defenses versus things coming in.

How good are our stone and wood working people? Is there stone (Eve 'field stone) handy we an shift about with out causing too much damage to things around the place?

The river/stream? Given how much use it's going to see... we might have to start there with fixing things up so we don't 'Muddy the waters' too much.

Looking at the 'bigger' map... what are/is 'J'?

The river and the bridge? Where does the river come from? A waterfall off the cliff?

With Suy's points in 'Engineering' can she begin to think of a 'Dredging' system to make the current bay deeper?

The shallows? Are they reefs? With cyclops help how easily can they be.... 'shaped'? Which will also give us stone to build with....

J is a mangrove swamp. A twist of trees, roots and salt water.

The river is formed from run off from the mountain you climbed initially with the teranodons. The regular rain here keeps the river always flowing, but it's size fluctuates with the amount of rain recieved.

Dredging would either require a purpose built barge or significant effort under water. If you could give a couple cyclopses water breathing, they could probably do it in less than a week. Same applies to the shallows and reefs.

There is plenty of wood around, your carpenters feel that they will have enough to complete the huts for living and storage within the immediate vicinity. Your stone cutters have spotted an outcropping of good rock but they will require a good number of crew members to help move the stones down to the bay.

You have pretty much explored the north and middle of the island. This leaves the south west and the south east still unexplored. There is a large bay dividing the two remaining areas.

Well, you have a few different options. You can explore the rest of the island, you can go to the sunken shrine, or you can concentrate on the building up of you fort/home base/port/village.

just an update post here.

I have been off-line for a couple of days. had pneumonia real bad. almost bed ridden.

fever finally broke today after almost 4 days over 101F (38.33C for our non-american friends)

still a little light headed from the medications to reduce the fluid in my right lung.
