It looks like I will wait to get some more cash to get a proper ram and maybe a fiend-mouth cannon for the cool factor.
Peg-leg: I have no experience playing a druid in PF, but from what I've read they are absolute terrors. Do you want to wild-shape or cast more
.Suny. |
Sorry, interwebz is still rilly spotty.
I be better off wiff some cans an' some string. :(
Dimitrious Black |
How can you not like the carefree rouge in a pirate adventure, I especially like the "Drinks" line in your profile.
.Suny. |
Just a recap on how much shine we've still got that we can be spending?
Sorry for not keeping better track of it :(
.Suny. |
So, again thank you ever so much for the assistance. *Bows*
Suny will be spending shine on furthering her plans, of course.
1) Money on obfuscation. Mundane and magical disguises for both herself and the places she's doing her stuff to create the Dread Pirate. No good going to all the trouble and one simple 'Legend lore' spell gives it all away. (^_~)
2) Money spent of setting up the cloning part of things and thence the beginning of the 'Construct' spell controlling side of things
3) An actual subject to actually BE the basis for said Dread Captain. Suny will be using her disguise skill etc to hide out in the Slave markets looking for just such a teifling lass to work her magics on.
4) Beginning to source out the folks who're going to make the great big clock-work 'ship'.
5) So... One thirds towards the above. One third to hiring people Suny would like spending ship time with on her new ship plus any more/extra fitting out said ship might need ([url="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDTliYXTySk"YouTube Link[/url], Google Link Hatra ballista ). One third towards supplies.
Supply list ideas:
Live stock: Such as chickens and the smaller and hardier critters like goats
Building supplies: The odd, small stuff like glue, paint, nails, fittings, lead and copper sheeting. Lengths and different gauges of chain as well as good sets of blocks and tackle.
Specialist Workers: Black Smiths and Carpenters. There's a whole slew of really interesting and important skilled laborer's and craftsmen. 'Coopers' who know how to make barrels. Tanners who know how to cure hides into leather. The wood working equivalent of 'Fitters and turners' who do all the fiddly, but important, wood working on ships (Chandlers?). Possibly a 'jewel smith'/'Watch maker'? The sort of person who can make the tools for navigation. (Sextants, astrolabes, compasses)
Suny is trying to get the 'skilled' side of the work force available, even if initially said skilled people are being paid to pitch in and help haul and build. In the early days... there just won't be the supplies of raw material, I don't think. But... once people are more settled then having the skilled folks 'On hand' will have a trip or two and the time involved.
Much cheers to all! (^_^)

750 gold
Well trained
And of exotic stock
Finding someone to make a clockwork ship is a little harder. There is a rumor of a Gnome who has some connections with a guild in a far off land. These leads may require more follow up.
Skilled labor is easy to come by if you know where to ask. You come by the same semi permanent bamboo structure as Angus. That is probably where you got "accosted". The gentleman working there is happy to source these talented people for you. Contracts can be made either on a gold/day basis or a percent of plunder basis. Your choice.
Livestock is probably the simplest, easily aquired at market rate. LINK.
A wand of non detection can help keep your activities secret. One with 10 charges costs 2,400 gold. Mind Blank would work completely but is a little outside your price range.
Finding a proper spell caster capable of making a simulacrum is difficult. But the same gentleman who is sourcing your skilled labor says he can procure a simulacrum from the Academae in Korvosa for 10,000 gold. He will just need an accurate description of what is required.
If you spend 10,000 on the simulacrum, 2,400 on the wand, 750 on the Teifling and 4,000 on provisions and skilled labor you can still have some left over. If you spend 4,000 on provisions and skilled labor we can work the details out later but suffice it to say you will be well prepared.
Thoughts?
.Suny. |
Suny's thoughts are now a tad more focused on poor Angus. The fellow's future would no longer seem secure. >:)
Okay,
Crew: Offering percentage of plunder seems the best/most fitting thing to do for payment. Though warning about we're going into jungle pacification rather than constant pirating will definitely be mentioned Since Suny's current boat is more magical than not she can possibly get away with slightly less crew than a normal pirate ship might need? Crew weapons? Am thinking of both mundane AND magical!
So there's this item Bottled Lightning Add a x-bow stock to it and you've got a sort of 'Lightning shot gun' that are simple to use and startlingly useful.
So... maybe ten x-bows as the basis (350 Gp)
And, something like 60 'Lightning' rounds? (2400 GP)
(^_^)
*Note: Now I'm thinking having an Alchemist aboard would also be the go. :P
Simulacra: Not quite looking into getting the whole thing up and working just yet, though again Angus' actions have sorely tempted me on this point (Having some Dread Pirate appear to want an interest in Angus hide is tempting... but not quite fitting) Mainly waiting for some secret, hidden lair to work out from (Yay getting a whole island to possibly set one up in!) So.. mainly looking to source equipment, magical reagents etc. 5,000 coin?
Teifling: 750 for what Suny has in mind seems a steal..... So Suny will be careful there isn't catch. :P (The lass will only need to be around for one or two surgical type operations. After that she's free to work as crew or simply go free. If the DM has her personality worked out and wants more Role Playing time, no worries. :)
Wand: Suny's not currently got much choice atm. Perhaps adding a Wizard to the list of skilled crew/crafts-persons? 2400 Gp it would seem to be
Stores, crew and provisions: Increase to 5000 Gp and Suny's happy... Plus lots of new friends to play with. (^_^)
Clockwork Things: Shift 2000 Gp towards making contacts etc for things to begin shaping up, as it were.
Moneys towards artillery? Aqueir Get some ballista for her own ship? What does the DM think of the previous links to the Hatra machine? :)
Like Angus' player, I too am preparing to head off to work, though a 4:00 AM start on a chilly late Autumn/Early winter morning is more my fare. :P
Oooo... the things Suny shall be thinking of...
*Ponders*
Does he have any children yet? Should Angus' suddenly attract some fair lady's eye?
Suny's new crew is probably not yet in a position to come to their Captain's aid. But when Angus realizes Suny is a second captain flying colour's under Captain Noro. You think he'll be slightly worried?
Wishing every one all the very best (^_^)

I am adding a gnome tinkerer to the crew. The gnome tinkerer will fill the position of repairer of nautical equipment you were looking for as well as have a couple levels in Alchemist. When you pick up leadership you may take him as one of your followers or even your cohort if you wish. Which you choose will determine his level.
The material you need for a simulacrum is an Ice Sculpture of the target + 500 g worth of rubies per hit die of the simulacrum. The rubies would not be too hard to source, getting the sculpture just right may be a bit more difficult. Perhaps someone handy with a chisle?
The Hatra is fine, let me think up some stats for it ;)
We might have to start calling Noro Commodore, she is beginning to assemble a squadron.
.Suny. |
Posting as interwebz connection allows. :(
Ah! I was thinking more the x-bow just pulls the cap off and the lightning shoots out and then the wielder replaces the bottle with a new one.
Not.. like actually throwing the thing!
There's a new Alchemical simulacrum ability. Alchemists can make simulacrums now, too. Will try and find the skill/feat.
So... a 'Normal' simulacrum at lower levels and Suny can work up to a 'better' one at higher levels!
I've already swapped out 'Bear Style' with 'Leader ship'. Like you said Suny could with spending the moneys under the tutelage of the fellow now working for Noro. (^_^)
Hehe! Is the Gnome the same one that sold Suny the illusion wand before?
Does Suny have the beginnings of her crew, perhaps? (Suny bats for the same team most of the time... just so the DM knows her 'preferences'......)
Much cheers to all.
(^_^)

I will not be around much until Tues am with it being memorial day weekend
MichaelCullen |
Let's say it is the same gnome, perhaps he finds your ideas intriguing.
You do have the beginning of your crew. I am bringing to take notes in the campaign info thread.
.Suny. |
Oh.. didn't read that far. *Blush*
Well... I'spose at first Suny just only needs it for a little while? Or.. is it something that a 5th level 'Permanency' spell can give more 'Oomph' too?
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Hope everything is going swell for you and yours.
Still having issues with my interwebz. :(
MichaelCullen |
.Suny. |
Suny doesn't need the simulacrum 'Right now!'. So there's no hurry. Might we just say it's something she's put the deposit down on and will collect at a later date? There's also the spell and components for 'driving' said simulacrum as well. (^_~)
Getting crew, weapons, supplies and such would be higher on Suny's list.
Wishing every one all the very best

*Hugz* Wishin' ye well an' all'a very bestest! (^_^)
Noro the iron maiden |
peg leg, I would guess you came on board with the rest of the Albatross crew, unless you want to be with Sunny and her ship of nearly naked ladies?
Noro the iron maiden |
Angus would have, but I'm guessing that plan got ix-nayed before leaving port.
Noro: "Oh no you don't. Yer shtayin' right here on my ship where I can keepsh an eye on ya an' yer wanderin' handsh."
sounds about right
Dimitrious Black |
I hope it's nothing to serious with the family Peg-leg
Angus Alehammer |
Sorry for taking so long on getting this character together. Had some family health issues this past week and then over the weekend, I busted my ankle and shoulder up. Thankfully nothing is broken, but I am definitely sore.
Ouch. Sorry for not replying to this earlier, but like Dim, I hope everything is okay.
Dimitrious Black |
Well Congratulations!
Dimitrious Black |
I am sure we will. I will continue to post while on it ;)
Wow that is some serious dedication
.Suny. |
My interwebz is still all wonky.
;_;
Wishin' every one all the very best.
"Peg Leg" Variel Brinescar |
I'm going to try and get my dude finished up in the next few hours. It's been a rough period. Health issues, plus I work in animal rescue and we've had some bad instances (including having a kitten with a severe birth defect we rescued that didn't make it) that've really hit me hard.
.Suny. |
All tha' bestest!
Interwebz is still bad here too. (;_;)
Dimitrious Black |
DM: No worries
.Suny. |
*Bounces about happily and waves!* (^_^)
Great ta' hear ye bin hasin' tha' bestest time! (^_^)
Noro the iron maiden |
Hi and welcome back... wait Combat?
to paraphrase Tyrion Lannister
"I drink and I kill things"
.Suny. |
*Continues to bounce, spin, shimmy, wiggle and other-wise dance around with joyful exuberance in anticipation of the DM's posting.* (^_^)
.Suny. |
Wishin' yon happy Gnome feller all'a very bestest! (^_^)
Dimitrious Black |
Hold up, I am giving it till the end of the day for Peg Leg, then we can move to round 2 ;)
Sorry about that
