Sorry to be the bearer of bad news everyone, but my iPhone is acting up, so I'm trying to get it fixed (could be a software issue, or worse the battery is messed up). This will impact my posting rate some, but I'll still try and post as often as I can from my laptop before work.
So, keep y'all's fingers crossed. And I apologize about this. I'm concerned that my phone got messed up during the hurricane when I had numerous power surges prior to losing power when Matthews came through.
Okay....
Crisis averted! After looking online, I found that sometimes if you let your iPhone's battery drain to 0% (which you're supposed to do occasionally), the battery may not have enough juice to charge back up. According to what I found online, simply using a blow dryer to warm the phone up enough for say 5-10 minutes and then immediately plug your iphone into a charger, the iPhone starts right back up. Phew! Glad that's over.
Wait, what? Ok, I need to retrain my favorite class bonus to that. I already have the feat twice now but getting the whole thing even faster would be nice.
I hope they're quick to update d20pfsrd and/or archives of nethys with it.
Hm....Apparently, according to Blood of Beasts sourcebook, kitsune have digitigrade legs, but some of the art from other books, even on the cover of Blood of Beasts, have them having human legs. So now, I'm confused. :(
Actually, one of the Paizo people posted this:

Okay, I'm confused now. According to the book, Kitsune have digitigrade legs, but looking at the cover, the kitsune sorceress doesn't have digitigrade legs. So my question is which description of the kitsune is correct: the art on the cover or the description that is in the book?
So when I pitched that section to Mark, I had a short explanation as to why I specifically noted digitigrade. It looked something like this:

In my opinion, nonhuman shapeshidters that change into humans need to have distinctly non-human elements in their true forms to make shapeshifting meaningful. Minor alterations (like what the skinwalkers have) sort of cheapens the shapeshifter aspect. This works for skinwalkers because they’re implied to be part human; they go from human-like to monstrous. But if we apply skinwalker logic to all shapeshifters, then we cheapen the skinwalker. As such, I feel that stark differences between human form and kitsune form is crucial to the race.
Ultimately, its up to each player / GM to work together to decide for their campaign setting / version of Golarion what each race ultimately looks and acts like—we provide guidelines.
For extra fun, here's a piece of my "BoB research.dox" on this very topic!
Spoiler:
Digitigrade Arts
— Advanced Race Guide
— Blood of the Beast (Interior Art)
— Dirty Tactics Toolbox
— Ships of the Inner Sea
Plantigrade Arts
— Bestiary 4 (I like to explain this one as, "The magic sparkles mean that she's mid-transformation," but she's clearly plantigrade.)
— Pathfinder #52
— Blood of the Beast (Cover Art)
Disputed
— Dragon Empires Gazetteer (The leg structure looks digitigrade, but the structure of the character's leg wraps brings the character's overall locomotive structure into question.)
— PFS #6-15 (The character's illustration is a mugshot, so we'll never know.)
Also I like this part here, and I think Kiko, it will pertain to you and me both:
Quote:
Most kitsune have human forms that are ethnically Tian, but on the rare instances when kitsune and humans couple, any offspring are always kitsune, meaning kitsune of other human ethnicities also exist. Even the most common—Varisian and Erutaki kitsune—make up a vanishingly small minority of kitsune on Golarion.
Sorry for delay on my end. Term papers coming due so I'm fixated on school and I'm still getting a handle on how hands off I need to be with this group.
There's an optional encounter with the "bony men" coming up, if you want to do it Runt can lead you straight there or around to the finishing point for the swamp. I'll hold a vote, yes or no on encounter, first to majority wins with a tie breaker from me.
If people keep referring to it as "Ameiko's Family" Kiko will get rather annoyed quite soon. They are as much her family as they are Ameiko's since the only connection is the paternal line, which they share.
Yeah, that was my question - especially since things got all weird when we replacement players were introduced. I'm not 100% sure of how much we all know about each other at this point.
I think we know Kiko's full name, and she's spent some time with Ameiko, but I know that on a personal level Daichi doesn't really know her. Since he's been Ameiko's manservant for about as long as he can remember, he still thinks of the Kaijitsus as 'Ameiko's family' because his connection to them is mainly through her. It's not meant to be excluding Kiko, he just isn't used to thinking about Ameiko having a bunch of siblings.
Hum...Rishana's been in Sandpoint for the past 10 years or so and so she'd probably have at least some idea of who everyone is. I'll just say she had a brain misfire and forgot that Kiko is also Ameiko's sibling :)
Rereading my post, the writing is a little more hostile than I intended. Sorry about that.
As far as knowing goes, when Ameiko and Kiko are together they tend to be very close and call each other "sis". You could also see the relation just by looking at them as there are very clear similarities where both take after their father.

Ah I see. Well in that case then, Derric will probably have noticed that there is some family resemblance between the two but he didn't ask any questions due to respect for Ameiko (and knowing that she didn't really have a good relationship with her father didn't want to cause old wounds to be reopened) although he has been curious about it for awhile now.
And it's cool Kiko. No harm done.
Although I'm trying to figure out how your character plans on helping Derric find out more about his kitsune family since they're probably dead.
No worries either Kiko; I took it as a good reminder to reread everyone's backgrounds again! And yeah, barring whatever weirdness might be going on Rishana would at least know of/about everyone though she'd be most familiar with Leo since he's best friends to Sandru (who was also adopted by Koya, hehe).
