Looking at the list, I feel like I should be submitting a full caster. Alas, I have and urge to take the unchained monk out for a spin.

That would be fine.

Thanks Brevon! I was going to do this today at work but it was nice to see that you at least had a head start on it for me.

Other than arcane classes I think we have enough interest in this for me to run two groups so I think I'm going to do so. That will bring me up to 10 games run...but I am willing to take that on. Besides what I've seen so far looks really really good.

With that being said Recruitment closes tomorrow so lets see if we can't get some arcane applicants. If some of those who put forth divine classes wouldn't mind switching over...that would a)increase your chances of playing and b)make parties more well rounded. If not then thats fine and I can run a group with any make up.

Mathpro, I'm a little scared. I still don't see Gustov Darrohoff on the submissions list. Just letting you know he's still here. frightened laughter

1 person marked this as a favorite.

We're still waiting on the halfling twins to submit their characters also, right?

I am working on a wizard to help fill in the gap. I'll try to get him in here later today.

I saw your character Gustov don't worry. I just haven't updated the list yet. I will be doing that here shortly.

Yes

Thank you very much!

Presenting Cael Vysorin, elven arcanist, Acadamae Assistant Professor of General Studies, and old friend of Professor Lorrimor.

The actual background stuff will come later today, figured I'd get him submitted sooner rather than later.

We are amlmost done, character coordination can take a while.

Are submissions closed to new entries?

Nope but I'll be closing things down and making selections tomorrow so...

I got a good template. Just need to read the players guide and make necessary changes.

Dark Archive

Right, here it is Sim Calinean, one half of the Halfling twins! My younger brother might join me soon!

Background Questions:

1) I'd like 5+ points that capture the concept and story of the character. More are welcome, but no less than five.

-Sim was always community driven and he deeply values loyalty to his companions/friends/family/community. His twin brother is his closest friend and thus is the most important person in his world.

-Like his brother, Sim is charismatic and a natural born leader, even of his low stature sometimes leads the 'big folk' to underestimate them. He is a team player and fully supports that ones success is tied to the success of everyone around them.

-Sim is a former slave but, unlike other halflings, they did not run away or turned against his master... he earned his freedom, leading many other Halflings with him.

-Sim is also a former military, having fought for the Molthune army for 10 years. He knows the importance of following orders and fully believes that with leadership, trust and faith in his companions, everything can be accomplished.

-Despite being a rogue, Sim is not a thief... he is almost LG. He is against stealing thinks, for one must earn what he has, so his abilities are more on par with guaranteeing that everyone should receive what is due to them.

2) Two goals that you'd like the character to accomplish in-game.

-Recover the trust from his brother, seeing their bond strong than ever, like it was when they were fighting side-by-side.

-Find a place/way/advantage for his community, be it in the form of land, resources, trade arrangements.

-Find a wife! During his years among the Molthune army, not knowing if he would live or die, Sim got the wrong type of fame among the girls in his communities and one thing halflings do is gossip... perhaps a young lady from outside Molthune...

3) Two secrets, one the PC keeps to himself, and one kept from the PC. I'll come up with a third that both the character and player aren't aware of, in hopes of shocking surprises within the storytelling.

-When General Falston was framed, the real suspect was cleared of any charges and released. A whole family suffered in his hands before he was killed by some guards... Sim feels guilty about their destiny.

-General Fulston was never executed, since he had some influence and bought himself out of Molthune. Now he seeks the twins, especially Sim, to seek revenge for his lost rank and possessions.

4) 3-5 people that are tied to your PC by blood, love, rivalry, honor, etc. I'd like at least one enemy in a set of three or four, with no more than two for a set of five.

-Sam Calinean: His twin brother and best friend.

-General Fulston: Responsible for making Sim, his brother and a couple more friends to take a second term among the Mothune Army. Later tried to blackmail the halflings.

-Lord Zarov: Former master from Sim and many of his kin, Zarov now do what he can to undermine the halflings' community to prosper, even if the Molthune government properly paid him for his former lost slaves.

5) Three key memories that define your character as the person they are at the time of submission. Including Lorrimor in one of those might not be a bad idea.

-When Sim and his brother finally finished their first military term along many other former slaves: The look on his friends' and kin's face when they finally received their freedom changed Sim... at that moment he fully understood the force of companionship and how anyone could change the life of those around them.

-When Sim discovered they had been deceived by the Generals: not being complete citizenship hurt Sim deeply, for he understood that some people would sacrifice everything and everyone for petty profit... many Halflings got their citizenship denied just in hope for them to fight once more for Molthune.

-When Sim framed General Falston and Sam discovered: even for the sake of his kin, Sam could not completely forgive Sim and it hurt him deeply for a rift was placed between the inseparable brothers. Even if a couple years had already past and their relationship is back on its wheels, something changed and Sim fears that he'll never be able to fix it.

Sam calinean

As for the questions, the answers are much the same as my brother's with a few differances.

background questions:

1) I'd like 5+ points that capture the concept and story of the character. More are welcome, but no less than five.
-Sam was always community driven and he deeply values loyalty to his companions/friends/family/community. His twin brother is his closest friend and thus is the most important person in his world.

-Sam is also a former military, having fought for the Molthune army for 10 years. He knows the importance of following orders and fully believes that with leadership, trust and faith in his companions, everything can be accomplished.

-despite being a cavalier, samis not an honer bound fool. He is almost NG.

2) Two goals that you'd like the character to accomplish in-game.

-redeem his brother by helping him acomplish good deed's.

-When Sam was serving in the army he killed a child with astray arrow... The kid was half his hieght... He never told anyone.

-General Fulston was never executed, since he had some influence and bought himself out of Molthune. Now he seeks the twins, especially Sim, to seek revenge for his lost rank and possessions

4) 3-5 people that are tied to your PC by blood, love, rivalry, honor, etc. I'd like at least one enemy in a set of three or four, with no more than two for a set of five.

-When Sim discovered they had been deceived by the Generals: not being complete citizenship hurt Sim deeply, for he understood that some people would sacrifice everything and everyone for petty profit... However...these where what was decided for them, if 5 more years was what they wanted for freedoms... Then five more years they would get.

Gosh these APs are popular on the boards. They take so much work to run though! Oh the irony....

Okay, Background Points have been added to the profile page. Really enjoyed how they helped to flesh out the character! Totally stealing them for my next game that I run.

Should be completely done and ready for review.

Yeah, you cringe when you start answering them but when you are done you've are surprised how cool you are!

Hi :)

I am pleased to submit Lucetta De Leon

fluff and answers to GM questions:

Background
Lucetta grew up in the care of one of the local Sczarni crimelords, just another otherwise homeless orphan learning to pick pockets and act as lookout for her gang, her life was laid out before her as an ever increasing escalation of criminal activity until she was either caught or killed.

In her twelfth year, she was tasked with breaking in to an expensive looking mausoleum, her first job in charge of a team. They distracted the guards long enough for her to get inside, but as she was liberating the trinkets within, she was attacked by the reanimated corpse of the tomb's occupant.

Abandoned by her supposed family even as she cried for their help, she was barely able to escape the filthy talons of the creature. As luck would have it, as her life was bleeding through the fingers she clutched desperately to the wounds in her chest, she collapsed in the doorway of one Professor Lorrimor.

Without question or query, judgement or subtext, he sheltered her and tended to her wounds whilst she healed. Each day he would sit with her and just read, treaties on history, anatomy books, great atlases of places and people far away from Ustalav. He gradually earned her trust, and she finally opened up to him with a torrent of questions, mostly about herself. She had always known she was different to the others she knew, but until the professor started to teach her about the creatures of Golarion, she hadn't understood just how different. When she had fully recovered, showing no desire to return to her former 'family', as something of an experiment the Professor introduced her to a friend in the city watch.

For the next ten years and more, Lucetta has walked the line between criminal and law, using her skills and underworld knowledge to make a living both as a criminal and an informant to the watch, as a means to rein in those who would try to hide in her shadows, those who she deemed dangerous or truly evil. Over the years, whilst the professor has had cause to hire her both officially and unofficially to pursue his interests, Lucetta's greatest secret has been her monthly dinners with him, where she would disguise herself and go out to meet him at an upper-class inn or eatery. When she heard news of his death she was devastated, yet despite his guiding presence now being absent, she wants nothing more than to continue serving the light from her home in the shadows.

GM questions

1) Defining concepts
* Proud but accepting that she sometimes needs help
* Alone inside her own skin, she has never met another like herself, yet yearns to find someone who understands her
* Afraid of appearing weak, she keeps a healthy distance from others
* Lets her skills and prowess define her, taking it hard if she can't defeat a foe or solve a problem
* Absolutely dedicated to trying to do the right thing, even though she makes a living outside the law

2) Goals
* She wants to carve out her own niche in the underworld of the city, stake her claim and have the respect of the other crimelords.
* She wants to remove those truly evil from the criminal element of the city, slavers, murderers, those who have no respect for those they tread on 'getting ahead'.

3) Secrets
* It is obvious to everyone that the name 'De Leon' is an assumed one, however Lucetta is not her real name either, it is Kira. She has never divulged this to anyone, but she doesn't know her real last name.
* Unbeknownst to her, the Scarni crimelord Malino who first took Lucetta under his wing, is well aware of her activities, as well as her connection to the city watch, and watches her with the eyes of a father. He's proud of her accomplishments, but bides his time as to when best to use the potential asset he sees in her for his own gain.

4) Friends and enemies
*Professor Lorrimor: Lucetta's mentor and guiding light, his kindness and curiosity about the world are defining memories and traits for Lucetta.
*Malino Givanni: Local crimelord of some influence, runs several crews and raised Lucetta from a babe
*Jennva Donir: Once a part of Lucetta's crew, as a successful cat burglar she was well thought of, until she challenged Lucetta's authority and decisions once too often. Lucetta threw her out of both bedroom and crew, as a lesson to others not to challenge her authority. Jennva nurses a hatred of Lucetta for kicking her to the curb, and bides her time to get her revenge and prove she is the better and more skilled criminal.
*Reinnic Vursecc: Con man extrodinaire, Reinnic has a large talent but small ambition, content to do what he loves and scrape a living rather than applying himself and cleaning up. He sometimes partakes in Lucetta's schemes if they seem challenging or interesting, and is a good drinking buddy. Someone Lucetta trusts, at least as much as she is capable of doing so.

5) Memories
* Lucetta remembers how scared she was, she'd never seen so much blood, as her very life dripped from her body across the cobbles, she grew colder than she'd ever been. Collapsed in the doorway, her head rested on the stone as her wounds burned, and she thought about the sea, how she'd one day like to be carried away by the ships she'd only seen from the docks before now. Then the light, the warmth and the light, as a concerned face peered down at her, ordered her brought inside, as gentle light and warmth bathed her. Even on the brink of consciousness, she still remembers the words he spoke "take care of her, like you would my family..."
* The bracelet was so beautiful, it sparkled in the setting sun. She'd been watching it all day. All day the fat merchant had sat there, the slave boy fanning him with the giant feather. The merchant didn't need the bracelet, oh how pretty it was, sparkling with its dark gemstones. She sidled up to the table, and his eyes were instantly upon her. "You can't afford my wares girl, be off with you!" he shouted, a scowl on his jowled face, Lucetta stared up at him, then kicked him in the shins and turned to flee. Her five year old legs couldn't carry her fast enough, even from the fat merchant, who caught her and beat her. But that day she earned a share of the gold her crew received from selling the bracelet, stealing it whilst she provided the distraction. She has never tasted bread as sweet as that which she bought with those copper pennies.
* With the last challenger lying bleeding in the alleyway, Lucetta exalted in triumph, silently shouting to the heavens. No-one would dare question her control of Baker's Square now, the word would be out, no one could ply their trade without tithing to her. For the first time she felt pride, at her abilities and her achievements, and her spirit soared, she wanted more!

The final touch
Lucetta cannot stand confinement or being unable to act. Being paralysed and unable to protect herself, at the mercy of others, is her greatest fear. She has woken from sleep sweating and trembling more than once following nightmares involving such scenes.

Personality
Lucetta is a survivor at heart, valuing life and freedom above all else, despising those who would deprive others of them. Although she has never had much respect for the law, she does try to do the right thing, usually working outside of the law when (in her opinion) it proves insufficient with regards to the greater good. She is protective over both her territory and the people in it, trying to make it a better place however she can. Whilst she has a strong sense of loyalty to those she calls friend, that position is hard to earn.

Appearance
Lucetta has a well honed physique she keeps as hidden as possible. Her clothes are drab and dull colors, all the better to blend in with, and she shows as little skin as possible. Whilst she maintains this is to stop moonlight from shining off her pale flesh and making it harder to hide, it also minimises the chance someone will see the network of scars that cover her body, keepsake from the night in the mausoleum that changed the course of her life. Keeping her black hair short and tied back out of the way, she wears the barest trace of khol around her eyes and on her lips. Moving with confidence and no wasted effort, she seems at ease in any urban setting.

Lucetta De Leon
Kavakii Zhen
Brevon Sabor
Gadoongo Heineous
Cael Vysorin

Group 2:
Sim Calinean

Group 1 you discussion thread is live and attached to this recruitment thread.

Thanks for the invite! Posting now. :)

Group two your discussion thread can be found here

Just out of curiosity since this is the second/third CC campaign I haven't been selected for in the past few weeks, is there anything in particular I should consider changing about my character?

No honestly it was just a numbers game that you didn't get selected. Sorry Davor.

Fair enough, I just wanted to make sure there wasn't some glaring mistake I had overlooked for future recruitments. Thanks, and good luck to all those selected.
