@DM Kor - do I have to have Foul Vaghra statted up by the deadline? I'm way busy today but may have it together in the next day or so...

Will there be many nasty dogs and horses to shoot, or should I not blow a feat on being really good at killing them?

Scarab Sages

I think I'm going to step out on this one, although I will probably be lurking about. Happy gaming!

I just need the character concepts for now. Once I make the selections then the players will have about a week to stat up the characters.

I don't foresee horses or dogs being in the campaign much.

Koda - CN Rogue/Fighter
Primary Weapons - Crossbow & Scimitar

Before adulthood, Koda who was not Koda yet... was orphaned by a group of long-shank privateers (when his parents ran and abandoned him). But, they could not bring themselves to kill the intelligent eyed goblin-child. So, they took him along as they traveled.

He was an oddity, a mascot and eventually an apprentice... as his natural skills and tendencies developed and he proved himself useful. Developing precociously as goblins are wont to do, it was not easy. There were good times and bad.

Having proven his worth, he'd earned his freedom. And, when the group was once again near his native homelands, he made his way "home". With heavy suspicion, he was taken back by Muckeaters.

Koda is more trusting and less hateful of long-shanks. He does like being back among his own kind, but he knows there is a big world out there and he wants to see it.

He's fiercely loyal of his friends, though sometimes this makes him reckless when they are in danger. He doesn't seek out evil or darkness, mostly he's along for the ride. As if he's comparing life on the outside to this... life on the inside.

He doesn't let on that he can read, or understand so many languages.

Mechanically, Rogue/Fighter... Crossbow (Deadly Aim, eventually) & Scimitar (Dervish Dance). Maybe a Trapsmith (rogue archetype).

Probably 80/20 Rogue/Fighter.

SUBMISSION SUMMARY - DAY 2

Tenro: Bile Ratsear - Druid (Blight)
Oceanshieldwolf: Foul Vaghdra - Inquisitor (Sin Eater)
Mihajlo Velickovic: Ren Darklaugh - Cleric
Nylissa: Jakka - Barbarian
Capricornus: Quivrel Toadlick - Witch
Bearded Ben: Vesa Redrida - Ranger
Doomed Hero: Dogdog - Cavalier (Houndmaster)
Songdragon: Dazzy Foulmouth - Bard (Savage Skald)
Hassan Ahmed: Koda - Rogue/Fighter
Gilthanis: Fyrekin - Sorcerer

Submission deadline: January 7 at 6:00pm PST (9:00pm EST)

Archetypes: Rogue (Trapsmith), Fighter (Dragoon or Unbreakable).

@DM - Are either of those two archetypes OK for the Fighter aspect? He'll most likely only be going up to 2nd Level Fighter.

Trapsmith - Smarter, curious, tinkerer... uses wit to his advantage (setting traps). He's good as devices and valued for his skill. Something he picked up from the Halfling (background).

Dragoon - Imagining him on a Goblin Dog, or Worg at later levels. Speed, ferocity, rescue, stealth.

Unbreakable - Small but unexpectedly tough and fit, marathoner... indomitable spirit, never gives up.

Koda - So Confusey:
Koda did bad. Flutter-by shaman says so.

Longshanks-child tried steal food from Koda and friends, then say 'purr-mish-un' thing. I not see any purr-mish-un thingy. Liar!

Why halfling give Koda nice curvy sword and teach him how to dance? Why if Koda not supposed protect food and shiny-sparkles?

The places he goeses are nice and big and have shiny things to take. But, Koda misses home. Home where ma-ma and puh-pu left him and running off... cowards! Hmm... wait. That not Koda, that bees Pogus. Maybe Pogus misses home and the Muckeaters. But, Pogus no more.

Maybe Koda... that what longshanks call him, just like to be with his goblins peoples. Maybe with Muckeaters he go see nice places too.

Koda will find way home... or where Pogus used to live.

So confusey...

Longshanks-child liar!

EDIT: Quick Question rgds Rules - The crossbow point-blank damage bonus, is that for the "Small" versions or the "Medium" versions? My concern is: if small, then Humans might have higher bonuses? And if medium, we should have less? Sorry for the trouble.

Sure, all of those archetypes would work well for a goblin.

Hrmm... good question. They were based on a medium-sized weapon. I guess it would stand to reason that altering the size would alter the bow itself, which should technically change the its strength capacity. For ease of simplicity, I'm going to group small, medium and large size crossbows together.

I will add the follow addendum to the crossbow information in the guide:

The following damage adjustments affect small, medium or large sized crossbows. If the crossbow is smaller than this size group, then apply a -1 damage modifier to each 2 size categories smaller than this size group. If the crossbow is larger, then apply a +1 damage modifier for every 2 size categories larger than this size group.

Thanks for noticing this.

Characters get one masterwork weapon. Does that include ranged weapons?

It does include ranged weapons. A Composite Bow could be selected with a +1 Strength bonus.

Quivrel Licktoad wrote:
Ammunition is not included in our starting equipment, nor is it affordable with our starting coin. Are we to start without ammunition?

You can start with a reasonable amount of normal ammunition. I am thinking that 60 arrows / bolts would be reasonable for a goblin to carry?

Kicking it around... I think we're going vanilla. Rogue/Fighter.

If it doesn't directly progress the character "core" concept (excuse pun), it's not needed.

Uncanny Dodge, just seems too Goblin to miss out on by taking Trapsmith (which seems too smart)?

And, although I like Dragoon and Unbreakable and they give bonus feats, none progress the idea of "Dervish Dance" (scimitar) and "Deadly Aim" (crossbow or bow, or anything else).

Sorry to think out loud.

** RECRUITMENT CLOSED **

I'm reviewing all the characters now and I am having quite a difficult time deciding. You all presented interesting characters and you all made it tough on me by selecting different classes :) I thought there would be more duplicate classes submitted so it would have mad the screening process easier. I hate to say this, but it may come down to me rolling dice to decide.

** GOBLINS REPORTING FOR MAYHEM **

Tenro: Bile Ratsear - Druid (Blight)
Oceanshieldwolf: Foul Vaghdra - Inquisitor (Sin Eater)
Nylissa: Jakka - Barbarian
Capricornus: Quivrel Toadlick - Witch
Doomed Hero: Dogdog - Cavalier (Houndmaster)

Please start stat'ing up your characters. I am uncertain when I will be starting the campaign due to my surgery tomorrow morning. It will be at least 1 week away, so you all have time to get your characters together. We will try to coincide the start of the campaign with Ocean's vacation return.

I wish to thank the following players for your submissions. It came down to a few gut instincts and some dice rolls to figure out who to select. Your submissions were great, and if I knew I had the time to run 2 groups, I certainly would have selected all of you.

Mihajlo Velickovic: Ren Darklaugh - Cleric
Bearded Ben: Vesa Redrida - Ranger
Songdragon: Dazzy Foulmouth - Bard (Savage Skald)
Hassan Ahmed: Koda - Rogue/Fighter
Gilthanis: Fyrekin – Sorcerer

woo! glad to have made it and i wish good gaming to all.

I have a question for the GM: how do you feel about necromancy on the part of PCs in this game? that will be the deciding factor between Bile choosing Death or Destruction domain.

(As long as you let Foul Vaghdra eat a piece of any corpses she's killed first I'm ok with some good clean necromancy!)

Nice one! Great to be part of the tribe. Hopefully those other goblins will be around in the future for the Muckeaters!!!

Awww, wanted to tank and count bodies with Jakka. Ciao!

cant edit my profile for some reason but i already emailed customer service about it (i've been having other site issues as well) but here's the alias.

Thanks for the selection! Here's to staring at things and making them feel icky!

Sneaky-sneaky Jakka bites ... er ... thanks GM.
And I wish you luck with your surgery. See you soon!

Reporting in!

Would you like us to move this to the discussion tread? Also, can we get a campaign thread to dot so we can get thread updates on our campaigns tab?

just noticed... it appears that cure spells are not on the druid spell list??

Yes they are... Druid Spell List and Cure Light Wounds for instance says it can be cast by druids.

And the wee goblin lass rubs a single red colored glass bead on a copper wire that she keeps about her wrist, thanking her luck for the great gut feeling and dice gods for their choice to let her thrive for the Muckeaters!

ah i must have totally skipped over that part despite having looked specifically for it

ok all i need to figure out now is feats. i havent played a druid in pathfinder, does anyone know what a good idea for feats would be? if not, i will probably just go with fire tamer.

i see several great feats for druids but they all require wild shape

Here's a link to a pic I did for Foul Vaghdra. Don't blame me if she wears blond braids under her helmet. Do female goblins even have hair?

Foul Vaghdra
