So seeing that there seems to be a shortage of PbP GMs, I've decided to give it a try with something I've DMed IRL. I'm looking for six brave adventurers willing to tame the Stolen Lands and establish a prosperous realm... or at least willing to try. I'm new to PbP DMing and not so experienced in playing it (At least playing Pathfinder PbP) so I hope you can be forgiving and I'm open to suggestions and advice.
I like my IRL games to be heavy in the roleplaying aspect, and I think PbP makes it easier so I expect lots of IC interaction and will prefer characters with potential for it. I want players able to post at least once a day, if it's twice or more I think I can handle it, if you're not sure if you can keep that pace, maybe this isn't the game for you. We'll be playing the magnificent 6 player conversion found in these very same forums and I intend to steal lots of great ideas from the Kingmaker boards.
Backstory will be the main aspect I'll be looking into, but well rounded and interesting builds may give you an edge. If you know how you want your build to progress I'd like to know it so I can prepare.
Now let's go to the crunch.
- Races All core classes and those from bestiaries I and II. That said I may have some bias towards core races, but if you have a great idea for a tiefling or a ifrit I'd love to see it.
- Classes All classes and archetypes from the Core Rulebook, APG and UM. UC classes and archetypes are game as long as they are in the d20pfsrd.
- Alignments All alignments are allowed, once more I have some bias towards good or neutral, but any interesting evil character will be considered.
- Feats All Core Rulebook, APG and UM feats are good. UC and other sources depend on being on d20pfsrd and GM approval.
- Traits Characters should choose three traits, one of them being from the KM Player's Guide. Same sources as for everything else.
- Abilities 20 point buy, no ability beyond 18 none below 9 before racial modifiers
- Starting gold Standard starting gold.
- Other things The game will start in a ball in Restov where several groups have been brought before sending them in a mission to tame the wild Stolen Lands, a good reason for your character to be given such task will be a plus for it.
If you have any doubts, advice, suggestions or anything I'm more than willing to listen.

Tityanna is a diminutive, svelt scion of Brevoy's House Medvyed. She speaks softly, and rarely, choosing to savor her words rather than bandy with them as most nobles will.
Insular and proud, the scions of House Medvyed were known throughout Brevoy for their particular talents to maintain a hold of fey infested wood. So it was odd when the result of a passionate pairing between two of its members while ranging was a diminutive, nut-brown child with chestnut hair and large green eyes. Tityanna's pale and perfect mother instantly fell in love with her babe, while her father, a capable woodsman and magistrate harbored some suspicion of fey trickery that had replaced his child with a charming little creature who robbed his lady of the sense and practicality he had admired so while ranging.
Childhood was difficult for Tityanna. Her cousins were each hale and strong individuals who succeeded in light ranging without seeming to apply much effort to the martial arts, while Tityanna struggled with the draw on a child's bow, and had no sense of direction save for the obvious passing of the sun. Reliant upon themselves for survival, House Medvyed consistently produced the most capable rangers in all of Brevoy, but before the age of ten, despite giving all of her effort to learn, it became clear that Tityanna was not fit to follow in this tradition.
Tityanna's sole source of comfort in these times was her mother, Leila. Leila and her father had never married, and the man was rarely seen much less active in her life. What little influence Layla maintained as a scion was used to provide Tityanna with capable tutors who examined her and found that she had every ability to serve her House, but in a much different capacity than her cousins. Rather Tityanna's will, which had been bound and frustrated by her inability to serve in the traditional occupation of House Medvyed, would come to express itself in the innate ability to manipulate the reality of nature. In fact, it was said, she would come to be an extremely valuable asset to the family with proper training.
And so it was that for the first few years of her adolescence, Tityanna was instructed in topics in topics including the laws of magic, and the fundamental laws of nature, but also in the structure of the Brevoyan court. Tityanna found the structure of her studies made up for a lack of such in her home life, with her father being all but a haunted look on her mother's face when she asked after his identity.
When Tityanna came of age, her father and grandmother visited Leila's modest home and gifted Tityanna with a chest full of fine dresses, jewelry, and almost as though added as recourse at the last moment, histories of the wood which she had been raised in. While Tityanna's father stood at an aggressive attention, avoiding acknowledging Leila in the least, the elder woman informed Tityanna that a place had been secured for her at court. She was to represent the interests of the House beside her father and his wife Ilyena, and be introduced as their daughter.
Tityanna knew better than to refuse the request of senior members of her house, and so it was with a heavy heart that she quitted her childhood home and attended court beside her step-mother as her lady maid. She quickly found the pagentry and politics a bore, and even more so the wandering eyes of the young pages and scions of other houses who pretended at martial ability to impress. Tityanna was introduced at balls, and spent many hours uncomfortably bouncing atop far too grand mares on mockeries of hunts chasing after the pretty scions as a matter of duty, retiring late in the evening to pen a journal of her outings to her mother, which they passed between them at regular intervals so that they might continue to share their lives. Gradually, Tityanna became aware of her parents intent to marry her to such a useless fop, as her beauty and arcane ability created an attractive draw for any house save her very own, at least so far as she was able to secure a political alliance with another through marriage.
It was all that Tityanna could take. She confronted her father, and calmly and rationally explained to him that it was her sense of duty to her house and him for giving her life that she had endured the idle chatter of the court, but she would not stand to be played for a fool in this manner. She had heard of the charter to settle the Stolen Lands and insisted that if she could not serve her house in an official capacity by bringing them honor in hunts or ranging, then she would spread their influence into a new land, and make them stronger. Having no decided interest in either outcome, her father agreed, and allowed Tityanna to sign herself to the charter.
Tityanna's primary motivation to be in the Stolen Lands, pursuing the charter is to prove her worth to her family. As an arcanist among rangers and outriders, her homelife was somewhat difficult. Although she made frequent study of the wood, and accompanied her brothers and cousins on rangings for the experience, her lack of physical presence is something that could not readily be accounted for by the host.
Rather than simply be married off to increase some pull in politics, Tityanna chose to come to the Stolen Lands to carve her own way in life.
While she has not trained diplomacy, I can see Tityanna assuming the roles of either Councilor or Diplomat, if those have not already been filled or looked to by the party yet. If they have, a third option would be magister. She has an extremely lawful personality, where she will defer to the party leader, but it is in her interests, and everyone's interest to promote order, so that all can achieve their ends in a structured and secure way.
As a noble scion recently arrived in Restov to receive the charter, I assume that Tityanna would have been invited by any parties interested in impressing the court at New Steven. She would accept graciously, to fulfill her obligations as a scion and to maintain appearances.

Hope you don't mind 4 randomly generated characters with their backstories to be generated and then selected by you.
Though I wonder if you'll allow Rite Publishing's "In the Company of Giants," so I can either remove or add that option in the randomization list? Do you allow the tiefling options from Council of thieves? or Changlings from CC.
And I do post more than twice a day and RP very well.
That is going to be first game using my Paradox system, since the players were interested in it.
Doomed Hero |
Finally got in early on one of these...
I'm interested! Here's my pitch for consideration-
As a Player
I've been in a few other PbP games on these boards and I run a long running one off-site. I write well and have a fantastic posting rate. I am very good at optimization, but will very willingly curtail it for the sake of character flavor or story.
I like my PbP IC threads to read like a novel. I write accordingly and encourage others to do the same.
I'm a fan of character-driven stories that allow for the possibility of the PCs really having an effect on the world. I have never played Kingmaker or read anything on that board so everything will be new to me, but I have read the sales blurbs and am excited to try it.
Character Ideas
The Man Who Would Be King: He knows what his goal is from day one- retake his ancestral home. He will be a martial character with a strong moral compass, passionate drive, a high charisma and a chip on his shoulder.
The Adventure Capitalist: He's got some ideas for a new kind of business selling new kinds of weapons, but first he's going to need to test his prototypes and make some money. He's clever, snarky, a little reckless and a hard-core workaholic. He will be an Alchemist/Gunslinger with heavy emphasis on crafting, scavenging, and negotiation.
The Court Wizard: All he really wants is a tower to hang his pointy hat in, in a nice, quiet kingdom where the neighbors are too terrified of him to invade. Since most other kingdoms have already been claimed by some *other* pompous jerk, the recourse is for him to simply make his own. He will be a Wizard in the most fundamental sense of the word. He does not suffer fools lightly and is about as personable as a math book, but he has a contingency plan for everything and never loses sight of the real goals.
So pick me, Doomed Hero, for your Kingmaker campaign. You won't be sorry.

Skin Color: Pale
Hair: Shoulder Length Brown Hair.
Eye Color: Blue
Body Type: lean
Ormr was raised with stories of heroes and warriors that fought unbelievable odds to become legendary. His father was the body guard of a scholar and his mother was a cleric of Iomedae. When ever his father would come home after going on a trip would tell stories of what had happened during the trip. Once Ormr was old enough to hold a sword he asked his father if he would teach him the ways of the warrior so that he could be like him and the heroes of legend. Both his parents were pleased that he wanted to be a warrior. While training his mother taught him the ways of the church of Iomedae hoping that he would become a warrior for the church.
Ormr trained with his father for years before his mother finally asked him to join the church of Iomedae. Ormr having heard all his life the teachings of Iomedae did not feel that she was a right fit as a god for himself. He thought carefully for many months on the matter before he had a dream of a being in armor that fought like the heroes of old he had always wished to be like. When he awoke he asked his mother about the dream she told him the figure in the dream must have been Gorum the Lord of Iron. Feeling this might be the answer to his thoughts on which god to follow Ormr leaves his home to find out more.
After traveling for a few months Ormr finds a temple of Gorum and begins to learn the ways of Gorum. How to never back down from a fight, to always push forward towards the enemy, to never attack a weak or weaponless foe. Ormr finally felt that this is the god he must follow. He stayed at the temple for years learning how to call upon the powers of Gorum. Many of the clerics however did not feel that he was meant to be part of their order and trained him in others ways. This training greatly helped him as a warrior and the spells he received from Gorum also benefited him as well.
This went on until Ormr felt that he needed to prove himself as the others did. So he went traveling hoping to find worthy foes to face. While traveling he heard of the plan to take back the stolen lands. Feeling that this might be his chance he went to try to become one of the members of the group.
The idea for Ormr is to be a melee character to be like Gorum. I plan on multi-class with him either fighter or armored hulk barbarian if allowed. To get him heavy armor, Armored Hulk would be preferred so he could get some rage to truly be like Gorum. Now on to how the character will be played. He is trying to be like the heroes he way always told about as a youth. He wants to fight great monsters and villains. This is two fold first to have his dreams , second is to honor Gorum through his fighting. He will be a cocky person that tries the best he can to be like a hero.

Hello Keddah!
I humbly offer you Alexei, Oracle of Battle and Blade of the Aldori:
Alexei was born in the back of a farmer's carriage in Restov, the result of a dalliance between his mother, an accomplished duelist, and a charming travelling minstrel. Although he was born with his eyes open, they were milky white, and the midwife was quick to point out the baby was partially blind. The woman, struggling to prove herself to the swordlords and earn the Aldori name, left the baby in the care of a couple she trusted, a woodsman and a cook serving the local tavern.
As a child he was frequently abused by the other children, who knew he was adopted and called him changeling and freak. His mother, fearing that the boy would only hurt himself, scolded him whenever he tried to face the children, so he grew up shy and introverted. Only his forays with his father brought joy to the kid; although he couldn't properly hunt, the woodsman would tell stories about the boy's "father", a proud and brave swordsman, who fought to defend ladies' honor and the lives of the smallfolk. Alexei would spend days wielding sticks and fighting imaginary enemies, hoping to some day become a duelist so deft, strong and courageous as to be accepted in the ranks of the Aldori.
Nevertheless, the boy lived a fairly simple life: he served tables at the local tavern, and never got his hands on a real sword. That is, until the night of the assault.
The neighboord boys had grown into men, and they kept pushing Alexei around. They made a habit of ambushing the young man as he left the tavern, and they would rob his tips and humiliate him. When asked by one of his regular customers about the cuts and bruises, he confided to her. For some reason, late night in the tavern, he opened his heart to the woman, a mature half-elven by the name of Jamandi Aldori. All his pent-up anger, his frustration at not being able to fight back suddenly emerged, and the woman offered him a few words of wisdom and courage. That night, when the gang ambushed Alexei, he refuse offering them his money. There were seven of them, and they were armed. It was as if a spirit possessed the young man, for he closed his eyes, assumed the stance of a true Aldori swordlord, and managed to beat the robbers with a wooden stick.
Afterwards, he said goodbye to his parents and joined the city guard. What lack of skill he possessed was overcame by his drive to learn and some sort of wisdom too ancient for the young man to rightfully possess. He feels the great heroes of the past acting through him, as if to return the Aldori to their former glory. Their assistance manifests itself as uncanny swordsmanship for his young years and subtle magic, capable of closing wounds and lending supernatural power to his already powerful voice.
Alexei managed to climb quickly the steps of the city guard, his gifts and leadership easing his way, but he feels shackled, doomed to spend his life chasing down petty robbers and thieves. He is searching for a way to prove himself to the swordlords, and perhaps, to his unknown Aldori parent.
He is joyful and outgoing, enjoying the camaderie of traded words over a campfire and offering supporting words to raise spirits. His impulsiveness and eagerness to prove himself are his weak spots.
He has a personal code of honor, which includes bits and pieces of Gorum, Cayden Cailean and Erastil's dogmas. He believes in fighting to protect one's home and family, showing bravery in the face of danger and enjoying peace fully while it lasts. By following that code and preaching its strenghts, he worships these deities, and he believes they allow him to contact the spirits of warriors in the past.
Alexei

Alexei would be an effective tank (with the Battle Mistery) and attacker, using spells to buff the party and himself. He can also heal quite well (knowing all healing spells and having many spells per day).
I believe he could serve well as a good General, High Priest or even Ruler.

I would like to offer my inquistor of Calistra, he is ambitious information broker that wants to start a new network of his own. All his history, appearence and personality is in his alias.
Let me know if you have any questions on Xerell or if something is unclear about him, I hope you choose him I've been wanting to a kingmaker since I started playing on the boards.

Ok so ill just post my interest well actually heavy interest just because this only ap that can fit this character but to clear the air...
Me and rune have played together before actually there was a heavy argument between my brother me and another party member in the group which ended with me and my brother having to leave. I wish to push that under the bridge and move on however I understand if people wish to avoid a future possible argument between previous players I will leave this up to Gm discretion as well as the other possible players...also I notice theres quite a few divine battle types already but I really wish to play this character that has been in my mind for the past month
May I present Magnus Wolfgang Paladin of Pharasma archtype Emphyreal Knight
Magnus was born to a minor family in the city of Restov, though when his father came in to see his second son he was shocked to see a full head of white hair met his eyes. Knowing his son was god touched he consulted a local priest of Erastil. The nameless priest directed the distressed father to an obscure part of town where he was met by a robed figure that told him of how the boy was touched by the goddess of Pharasma, the goddess of fate, and of death to the undead. He told the Nobleman to give the boy to him, to raise him to greatness that would one day reveal itself to the boy. Fearful of reprisals Magnus' father gave in but not before giving the boy his own name as a way of tracking his family down if he should one day wish it so.

Background
Grandabbleberry or "Dabble" as most people call him comes arrived in Restov 3 years ago. He was originally from Korvosa, or maybe Magnimar, possibly Absalom, or was it Oparra. Each person asked gets a different story, and they all seem just as true as the last.
He spends his days selling his jewelry in the market. None of it is particularly valuable, made from various beads and stones, but it is remarkably beautiful. He seems to have an unlimited supply as everyday there are new baubles to be had.
The main we he has gained most of his more elaborate bobbles is theft, or borrowing as he would call it. Dabble loves to sneak into the masnions of the wealthy and take inconsequential knickknacks which he turns into jewelry. He feels that since the people he "borrows" from can replace anything missing with ease, he has done nothing wrong. He has taken money and valuable loot from nobles he's met that are particularly nasty, but he always donates those items to orphanages and such.
Lately, a wealthy merchant's wife has been coming back to his table on a daily basis. On her sixth visit, she brought her husband along, and pointed out one of his more costly pieces. "See Danno, that looks like my missing ring." The merchant dismissed it as flight of fancy, apologized and left. That night, Dabble left the bauble on her doorstep, packed up his belongings and headed south. It was time for a new adventure anyway.
Appearance
Dabble stands just over 3' tall, and always has a delighted smile on his face, even in the midst of battle. His hair sticks out in every direction, and mostly a deep scarlet, but has highlights of dark purple thorughout, that matches his brilliant purple eyes. His skin appears tan from a distance, but up close you see ribbons of red, blue, and purple throughout.

Just wanted to let you know I'm thoroughly reading all submisions and shortly will get back to you all with any questions or suggestions I have.
Thanks for your interest.
Any of my three ideas peaks your interest? I know these threads often turn into a mob of people all waving their hands in the air hoping to be noticed first, so I'm trying to get an edge by piquing the GM's interest in a character type.
Geoffrey Whittaker |
I would like to submit Geoffrey Whittaker, a LN Half-Elven Rogue 1 for consideration (full crunch is available via his page).
Geoffrey is lean and lightly muscled, with pale skin, short-cropped black with a pronounced widow’s peak, and piercing blue eyes. He usually dresses simply in a chain shirt, covered with a tabard dyed black and crimson, and has a single visible rapier at his hip. Generally, he moves with an almost cat-like grace, the sound of his passage being only the merest whisper, and he continually shifts his gaze, trying to take in everything around him.
Geoffrey knows relatively little about his parents, as he has no memory of them. From what he has been told, his mother was a relatively pretty lass from one of the minor noble families at the Imperial court in Egorian, who caught the eye of an Elven diplomat; when it was discovered that she was pregnant, she was bundled off to Brevory for her confinement, to stay with some distant relatives (by marriage) who minor members of House Lebeda. After the birth, she returned to Egorian, but Geoffrey remained in Brevory.
He grew-up in Silverhall, where he was treated fairly, albeit without any love – the branch of the family to which he was assigned had no time to coddle the bastard son of a distant relative. However, they did not stint in his education, and he was raised alongside the other scions of the house; although not naturally inclined to book-learning, he was instilled with the importance of recognising conflicts that one could not win, whether in business, politics or war, and how to avoid them.
Geoffrey became adept at spotting weaknesses, and how to exploit them, and discovered that he had a knack for noticing things that others generally missed, and was adept at passing unnoticed. In time, he gravitated towards assisting with some of the family’s more clandestine activities.
It was after one such task went wildly wrong, and an innocent bystander was badly hurt (It was supposed to be a simple task of sabotage, embarrassing a rival, no more; after all, generally, you would expect that people would move out of the way of an out-of-control cart of beer barrels, wouldn’t you?), that Geoffrey decided he needed to ‘spread his wings’ and find a new stomping ground.
The current push to re-settle the so-called 'Stolen Lands' seemed like a perfect opportunity to give him some distance from his 'problem', and to even, maybe, prove that despite his shameful beginnings, he is worthy of the noble blood that flows in his veins...
Let me know what you think :-)
Edmond Odravam |
Yeah I think I'll throw this up here as well
Physical Description:
Edmond is tall and wiry. At 6'2, but weighing only about 160 pounds, he doesn't look like the classic swordsman, however, his steps are sure and graceful and he flows like a river with his chosen blade in hand. His armor and clothing are worn pristine, and his black hair is kept short. Edmond has sad eyes, and his gaunt face looks tired beyond his 28 years, cheeks sunken and covered in coarse stubble, he bears considerable bags beneath his eyes. He dresses often in tones of blue, orange, and greens.
Background:
Twenty Eight years ago, a crying babe was born to the young couple of Edmond and Johanna Odravam. The parents named the Boy after his Father, and so began Edmond the second's path. His parents had been born in Restov as had their parents and their parents before them. His father opened a small dueling school, utilizing a technique modeled after the Aldori Swordlords.
By the time Edmond was a teenager, the school had become a success. Although the boy displayed natural talent for the blade, and though his father had hoped his son would live as a swordsman, Edmond originally pursued a life as an engineer working for the city of Restov. He had always had a calculating mind, and displayed an aptitude for mathematical equations associated with his first career. He married the daughter of an Accomplished engineer on his 18th birthday and was taken under his father-in-law's wing. Life was good for the young man, and was as such for nearly half a decade.
Tragedy struck when Edmond and his wife Ava were in the Stolen Lands. The couple were staying in a small encampment while Edmond helped oversee the construction of a nearby bridge. The job was the largest he had been involved with, and Ava had recently discovered she was pregnant. Life was moving along smoothly for the ambitious couple. It wouldn't last however.
A group of bandits who made their living ambushing travelers further down the river feared the bridge would threaten their livelihood, took action, and burnt the bridge, and raided the encampment under the cover of night. Against his wife's protests, Edmond picked up his Aldori Dueling sword and rushed to fight back. Overwhelmed, brash, and overconfident, Edmond took a blow to the head from a club and was knocked unconscious early in the fight. The hired muscle of the camp were able to finally repel the attackers, but not before numerous lives were lost, and the bridge was damaged beyond repair. Edmond awoke to the smell of charred wood and the news that the life he had known had quickly been dismantled by this bandit attack. Ava, and his unborn child, had been murdered in cold blood, as she tried to pull his unconscious body to cover. So it goes.
In the weeks and months following the incident, Edmond fell into a deep depression. He felt ultimately responsible for the death of his family, had he not been so weak, he could have saved them, he told himself. His father invited the now 25 year old back to his Dueling School, and although Edmond took months to escape his self pity, eventually he accepted the offer, and began his martial training.
Edmond has displayed an unparallelled devotion to the Aldori Dueling blade in the last three years and has quickly became his father's star pupil. His father was asked to send his best student to the ball in Restov where several groups will be brought before being sent to tame the wild Stolen Lands, and Edmond was the obvious choice.
Thanks so much for the consideration DM Keddah

I apologize if it took me too long but I wanted to answer everybody at the same time.
spoiler=Rune]I like the character. I have a couple of questions Does he believe his powers come from the several gods he follows or has he a different opinion on their origins?. And a question not about the character, could you please explain what happened in the past with Raventhorn? Was there a problem between you two or was it with a different player? And if it was between you both, do you think you two could play in the same game? Thanks for the interest!

do you intend to take the Aldori Swordlord archetype?
That's the plan, I think it looks really cool and fits the build/concept.
What are his reasons to want to join the quest to tame the Stolen Lands?
Kind of took some liberties and I'm saying that his father's dueling school is of some moderate prestige in Restov, and as Edmond is his father's legacy, and also his current star pupil( and I hope that's not too much of a stretch of the imagination, given he's a 1st level fighter and not even an optimized one, heh), Edmond is sent forth as the best his family has to offer. Besides that, Edmond has a few of his own motivations. I gave him the sword scion trait, and as such, he hopes to live and emulate the Sword Lords he grew up hearing so much about. He sees himself as the next in line of great Swordlords to unite Brevoy, and plans to make his Name in the Stolen lands. Also, his last excursion into the Stolen Lands resulted in the death of his family, and although he does his best to avoid feeling vengeful, Edmond has an undeniable score to settle with the more bloodthirsty cut throats that hide away in the Stolen Lands.

Hello.
I would like to submit Grayson Ozolins, a human conjuror with the teleportation focused school. He's a controller and summoner.
Brief background: his father is a fairly advanced wizard himself, and nasty as they come, always scheming for advantage no matter who it hurts, and he brought his son up the same way. Grayson lived with his family in the stereotypical evil wizard's tower in the Varisian wilderness until he went off to the Acadamae in Korvosa. While there, he met enough decent people to mellow somewhat, and he's not nearly as evil and twisted as his father (read True Neutral alignment). He was almost finished his studies when one of his father's schemes annoyed the wrong powerful person and, mostly out of spite, Grayson was expelled from the Acadamae. Blaming his father for the expulsion, he determined to have nothing further to do with the man, and tried to sever all ties. Heading to a frontier country was one of the ways he could do that.
I'll have some crunch up on my lunch break in about four hours.

It seemed like the best fit; Geoffrey was loyal to the House that raised him, and followed the edicts of the Family to the letter. That seemed fairly Lawful.
However, I could probably spin him as being Neutral Good - someone who acted for the Good of the Family, as they attempted to navigate the byzantine web of Politics, without paying too much attention to the technical letter of the law.
That said, does Geoffrey know of his ascendency? And if so, how would he feel if it came back to him?
Geoffrey knows that he comes from a Noble Family in a distant nation called 'Cheliax', but is hazy upon the details beyond that. Given that he is determined to prove the worth of the Noble blood that runs in his veins, achieving some sort of legitimate title would certainly appeal to him :-)
Oh, and by the way, the half-elven bonus feat must be a Skill Focus feat.
I had taken EWP, because I had taken the half-elf alternate race feature 'ancestral arms' from the APG (which replaces skill focus with an EWP or MWP of your choice). However, I am perfectly happy to take skill focus instead :-)
Thanks for the interest!
No trouble at all. Let me know if you have any more feedback :-)

For the most, taking the charter is as you've described, Tityanna's opportunity to extricate herself from a house that did not appreciate her, and suppressed her talents.
The other two traits I have selected are focused mind for a +2 to concentration checks, and Resilient for a +1 bonus to Fortitude saving throws to reflect her youth in the wood.
Tityanna would become a ruler if that is what the group decides is her best use, and if they will accept her leadership. I prefer to let roleplay dictate her function. If another leader type presents him or herself through play, and the group would feel more comfortable with that character being the leader, so be it. I do not assume because my character has great charisma she will automatically be the ruler.
Finally, yes, I can separate player knowledge and character knowledge quite effectively.

I'm also going to try to have him be more at peace with his past than is usual in these stereotypical situations. He has no burning desire to seek out and slay his father. He does actively think about situations, decides what is father would likely do, and then purposefully do the opposite. Grayson is the type to hold a grudge and does do things out of spite (there will be plenty of his father's darkness in him, after all).
Hu5tru |
Is a bit of a tender subject for me. In my RL game, the cavalier built himself around high charisma and when it came to choosing the ruler, the rest of the group ceded the "crown" to him because he had built his cav with the intention of being ruler, not that he actually roleplayed having any sort of credibility or authority to make him so. So I rather not assume any such role just because my sorc has good charisma.

No worries! The most up to date version is in the Inner Sea World Guide, but its stats are available on the d20pfsrd website.
However, I am happy to swap it out for skill focus (Perception) (thematically, that would probably make more sense).
EDIT: The most recent version is apparently no longer able to be used with Weapon Finesse, so I will definitely switch over to skill focus :-/

Also, I was wondering how long you plan on keeping the recruit thread open?

Will expand background in a few mins. But about Rune his player and mine didnt argue was more with the other players.
I was uncomfortable with the loot system they proposed. They wanted the person to buy the loot from the party. so that everyone would end up with equal gold silver copper. This was uncomfortable with m e because in "real" life this could never happen. Now i was playing a wizard I would never get the amount of loot that a sword wielder would have and if I did I would have to give all my gold and always be in debt. Just was wierd and un realistic system. Was more like I was back playing WOW and not playing Pathfinder Roleplay. sorry if that helps or not.
also with all the sword scions I dont want to seem like another jump on the boat kind of player so I can switch to a noble house if needed or pioneer or even rostlander all three make sense.
Also is the emphyreal knight arch type ok for you?
Lythal Nemur |
Sure thing, character sheet will be linked this evening. Any other questions you would like answered? Examples of roleplaying on these boards can be seen on the following characters:
- Grandma Ghawn in The World's Largest Dungeon
- Demlan Hymleth in Hollow's Last Hope
- Tito Grulios in Council of Thieves, which appears to have stalled unfortunately
All of which are linked through my parent profile.

Pharasma is a True Neutral goddess, which is a fair way from LG. You could still be a Paladin of an 'ideal', but Golarion as written by Paizo doesn't have a Paladin Order of Pharasma.
Opinions may vary, but just felt it was useful to point it out. If Keddah doesn't have an issue with it then it's probably all fine.
If you do allow a Paladin of Pharasma, then Empyreal Knight isn't a good fit. They are concerned with Celestials (Archons and Angels), whereas the outsiders attached to Pharasma are Psychopomps (first detailed in Carrion Crown).
Not trying to be difficult or negative, but just offering an opinion :)

I'll be accepting submissions until September 17th at 22:00 GMT +1 (I'm in Spain so I'll be using the local time) I'll make the choice on the following day.

Much as I like the Tetori archetype, I couldn't shoe-horn a background that I'm happy with - so have changed tack.
I know that the OP stated that only archetypes from PFSRD are ok, but I wondered if you would consider one from Inner Sea Magic. In case you don't have the book, I've summarised in spoiler below.
At 3rd level gets a slightly expanded summons list to include some Fey creatures.
Eidolon is changed to be based on a Fey creature with reduced BAB, reduced HD size and a changed set of skills.
If you don't have the book and don't have an upfront issue - I'd be happy to type out the archetype word for word so you can review properly
My concept would be a Gnome Summoner - with the First Worlder archetype (and potentially the Master Summoner archetype as well).
Grew up in Brastlewark
Was not content living the life of a craftsman and got wanderlust
Was subtly pulled to Brevoy and had a chance encounter with a member of the Unseelie court (his eidolon)
Befriended the fae and has been learning from him
Has already been wandering the wilds for some time, but the charter would give him legitimacy
He has also heard that the dangerous lands to the south have thinner barriers between this world and the 'First World' so is keen to explore that connection.
I am fully aware that summoners can be a pain in the butt as far as PbP play goes, so I would be willing to work with you to ensure that everything operates smoothly. Full statted profiles for any summons would be readily accessible in my profile page, and I would seek to handle their actions lumped in on my initiative so things don't slow down.
I'd also tend to only summon single creatures at a time - so the map wouldn't get cluttered up with lots and lots of additional foes.
If you have issues with the archetype or inclusion of a Summoner then I'm happy to work through them. Otherwise I'll muddle up a full profile with background and crunchy parts over the course of the next day or so.

Also a reason for being at the ball could be is a simple representation of the church. To just show the churches support in the city as well as the charter. His teacher could also have tasked him with signing on to the charter in attempts to bring their God, into the light to draw more attention and converts. sound good?
Shaundakul |
He doesn't have loyalty to anyone in particualr right now, and seems outwardly to be only self-interested. He has no malice towards any group, but feels the wealthy should share more with the less well to do, hence his borrowing of their trinkets and donations he makes on their behalves. Once he makes friends with his compatriots, he will have loyalty to the group, but will still hold his own needs higher.
Malaswyn Tyddewi |
I wouldn't mind playing this guy.
I'd have to take him down a level but otherwise he's good to go. The game he was in faded fast but he's an interesting cleric.
You can see me playing him in the posts from his profile.
Also, I was in a long-running PbP with my character Gyorgy, who is off my profile.
Silstaren |
Silstaren, elven ranger, at your service.
Silstaren came from a Kingmaker PbP that petered out quickly. Some minor rebuilding would be required and the ambush story in his background could be excised. (It was courtesy of the previous DM.) Silstaren is interested in magic. He'll probably take a level of wizard sometime and go Arcane Archer.
