Just wanted to confirm something. The goblin scouts are the ones with the fire, while the warriors are the ones with the caps, is that right? I don't want to mix them up.


Yep, that's correct. They're actually using vials of something flammable but I thought the torches in the picture got the message across better.

The cool thing is that you can place it on your next turn as well instead of targeting it now. So if the scene changes, you can adjust.

Let me know if Cecilia needs to make a Climb or Acrobatics Skill Check to clamber over the bar, Kaavek. I figured it might just count as Difficult Terrain, but I'll roll whatever you need me too. ;)


The bar is 5 ft. high, crossing it as part of your move action would be a DC 10 climb check to lift yourself over it (moving half speed) or a DC 20 Acrobatics check to jump it completely.


As it has been over 24 hours since Round 3 was posted, I have decided to bot Javos and move combat forward to Round 4.
EDIT: Javos it looks like you were writing that post just as I made that call so I'm happy to let that action in under Round 3. Go ahead and act again for Round 4.

Some of the screams echoing through the streets seem to suggest something nearby. I would be taking the chance to heal up (Dinvirte at least) before trying to root out any more though.

I think that's second time I've ever seen a coup de grace performed in a game I'm playing in. Coincidentally, the first one I saw was also at level 1 on an enemy that had been put to sleep.

In 3.5, you specifically couldn't ready actions outside of combat, but the rule never made it over to Pathfinder. I've seen it run many different ways since then.

At my table, you either get the jump on your enemies and get a surprise round, or... roll for initiative. :P

I'm totally fine with however we do it here, but I won't often try to ready actions outside of combat myself.

I only mentioned it because of being told that we had 1 round before they arrive.


I’d say readying an action out of combat is fine in the context of setting an ambush. Readied actions will take place in the surprise round.
Also Aelion running at 4x speed is perfectly fine.

It certainly wasn’t the clearest message to interpret first thing after waking up.

The way see Impatient, you should still be able to act in the surprise round, just if you want to attack someone you will need to charge them rather than wait for them to come into range.
