Xanxan, just think of this as your time on the Wheel of Pain, and look what that did for Schwarzenegger. ;-)

Male Gnome Rogue-4 (Saves-F+2,R+8,W+1; Perception +9(10 vs traps);HP 25/27)

Krom! I mean.. Besmara!

Male Human Freebooter 3 / Pirate 1 [HP 37/37 || AC 17, T 12, FF 14 || F +4, R +7, W +2]

Ugh, I think I would have preferred a worse roll on the influence. Hostile is practically impossible to win over. Unfrienldly is just very difficult. Makes it too tempting and I'm already wondering whether we should bother even talking to the hostile/unfriendly folks. At least not until after we've made the indifferent turn hostile, lol.

Male Human Sea Singer 1

No, it's good, Callum. I was actually going to hit everyone at least once, on the off chance that a good roll got them to unfriendly. If it did, I would keep working on them. If not, no real loss except the time. =)

Male Human Freebooter 3 / Pirate 1 [HP 37/37 || AC 17, T 12, FF 14 || F +4, R +7, W +2]

Well, at least everyone's influence rolls seem to be better today. I looked at the DCs for diplomacy and looked at how the crew see us and noticed most were unfriendly or hostile. Basically, long odds.

The funny thing is, I was expecting a failure. Callum was trying to make a point to Sandara at how impossible it is to change the crew, lol.

I couldnt' help but laugh at the particular phrasing. Yep, I'm immature.

Human Witch 2 || HP 14/14 || AC 12 Touch 12, FF 10 || Fort +1, Ref +2, W +3 || Init +2, Per +6

They like us! They really like us! Who else is ready to start the mutiny tonight? :)

HP 27 || AC 15, T 13, FF 12 || F +4, R +4, W +8 || Init +7, Per +12
Calvin The Surgeon wrote:

Lets not get too exicted. Even if we get the majority of the crew behind us, we need the right set of conditions. Otherwise, I'm sure the officers would tear through us fast. 1st level characters, even a dozen+, are like sheets of paper.

Male Gnome Rogue-4 (Saves-F+2,R+8,W+1; Perception +9(10 vs traps);HP 25/27)

Failed a sleight of hand I think, unless all the action allows a bonus for a distraction Xanxan was looking for.

Male Human Freebooter 3 / Pirate 1 [HP 37/37 || AC 17, T 12, FF 14 || F +4, R +7, W +2]

Heh, did the same thing. Who knows maybe the fight and that cheating part distracted the officers enough. lol.

SO TO SPEAK!!!!

Crap...too late...

Male Gnome Rogue-4 (Saves-F+2,R+8,W+1; Perception +9(10 vs traps);HP 25/27)

Win or lose, Tully got some nice rolls there.

Male Human Freebooter 3 / Pirate 1 [HP 37/37 || AC 17, T 12, FF 14 || F +4, R +7, W +2]

You have a typo in your damage Tully, from rounds 5 on (you have a +3 mod instead of +1).

Male Fisherman 4, Hp: 31/31, AC 17, T:12, FF:15, F+3, R+0, W+1

Well that is a relief...it looks like Owlbear isn't trained in unarmed combat, Tully has as much of a chance as anyone else.

Male Human Freebooter 3 / Pirate 1 [HP 37/37 || AC 17, T 12, FF 14 || F +4, R +7, W +2]

I was thinking Ko'ulu was going to be on the fight card, but Tully stepped in first. Seems like he's doing well, though, especially with the weak side and acrobatics thing, so it looks like alls well.

Male Gnome Rogue-4 (Saves-F+2,R+8,W+1; Perception +9(10 vs traps);HP 25/27)

Xanxan senses an opportunity here as well as a chance to be decent... the fact it would annoy Plugg no end is just gravy :)

Male Human Freebooter 3 / Pirate 1 [HP 37/37 || AC 17, T 12, FF 14 || F +4, R +7, W +2]

I was getting dejected before with the crappy influence rolls from the other day, but the days rolls we've had and the combat win, gives me a bit of optimism.

"Everythings coming up Milhouse."

Human Witch 2 || HP 14/14 || AC 12 Touch 12, FF 10 || Fort +1, Ref +2, W +3 || Init +2, Per +6

Speak for yourselves. You help one guy out and you end up in the bilges.

Calvin The Surgeon wrote:

For starters...

Bah... Xanxan BREATHES and he ends up in the bilges. ;)

Male Fisherman 4, Hp: 31/31, AC 17, T:12, FF:15, F+3, R+0, W+1

Ko'ulu would have fought...but I am in Hawaii...its 6am, I got up an hour ago and started working on the posts...

Male Human Sea Singer 1

Oops, sorry about the typo. I'm on my phone, atm, and was typing rather quickly since I couldn't copy/paste.

Male Human Sea Singer 1

Lol! All my bonuses to Diplomacy, and the only way I can make friends is by beating them up!

Jirobo lucked out on that one.

So congrats everyone. You may all Level Up to 2nd!

I'm going to post the next big update shortly. Please make sure your character sheet/profile is up to date. When you post your Day 6 Ship Action stuff, I will assume that you're leveled up and ready to go.

HP 27 || AC 15, T 13, FF 12 || F +4, R +4, W +8 || Init +7, Per +12

Why do I suddenly feel like a whale?

*walks around with harpoon sticking from chest*

2nd Level HP Roll: 1d8 ⇒ 6

Male Human Freebooter 3 / Pirate 1 [HP 37/37 || AC 17, T 12, FF 14 || F +4, R +7, W +2]

I was going to ask if we were supposed to roll or do the half+1 thing.
Just in case, here is some rolls for 2nd level HP:
If I go Rogue(Pirate), which is highly likely: 1d8 ⇒ 7
If I stick with Ranger(Freebooter)1d10 ⇒ 9

Male Gnome Rogue-4 (Saves-F+2,R+8,W+1; Perception +9(10 vs traps);HP 25/27)

If we roll low on the 2nd level hp, can we have average rounded up? I get the feeling we'll need them with harpoons and all
Glad Jirobo is ok.

2nd Level HP roll for Xanxan:
1d8 ⇒ 4

Human Witch 2 || HP 14/14 || AC 12 Touch 12, FF 10 || Fort +1, Ref +2, W +3 || Init +2, Per +6

2nd Level HP Roll for Calvin: 1d6 ⇒ 4

Thanks for trying to save Tobias, Jirobo. Here's hoping Calvin can repay the favor in a less-than lethal way in the future.

EDIT: I assume that I won't be able to prepare my newly acquired spells until I get Tobias back, correct?

So far everyone is rolling well for the HP but I will be going with Xanxan's option officially.

You will roll for HP and either take avg or your roll, whatever is better. Don't want you all dying on me too quick. ;-)

Calvin, that is correct but that will be sooner than you think. ;-)

Male Gnome Rogue-4 (Saves-F+2,R+8,W+1; Perception +9(10 vs traps);HP 25/27)

Well, the average rounded up will give me 5 before con bonus. I shall certainly need that extra hp eventually so thank ye.

Any Rogue talents that are not allowed with my 2nd level pick? I find "Charmer" very tempting, but worry it might be a bit too cheesy/fudging. I had originally planned to take "Ledge Walker" to show him working on the rigging, but he hasn't really had much opportunity.

No restrictions on rogue talents for the most part. And regarding Charmer specifically, you've justified that one enough with RP that I wouldn't have a problem with you taking it even so.

Generally I'm pretty open to whatever you guys want to explore. Only when it's glaring stuff, like if Ko'ulu suddenly wanted to take a level of Wizard, where I will ask for some kind of justification. Taking a fairly beneficial rogue talent isn't enough to make me concerned that you're trying to buck the system.

Male Gnome Rogue-4 (Saves-F+2,R+8,W+1; Perception +9(10 vs traps);HP 25/27)

Charmer it is then!

You don't want him to be the 'Wizard of the Coast'? :P

Male Gnome Rogue-4 (Saves-F+2,R+8,W+1; Perception +9(10 vs traps);HP 25/27)

Hot darn, I think Xanxan may escape the bilges today!

Male Fisherman 4, Hp: 31/31, AC 17, T:12, FF:15, F+3, R+0, W+1

1d10 ⇒ 1

Wow...that is...underwhelming.

Average it is!

new hp 5+1=6+11=17

New feat=Power attack...because I want to be able to get improved sunder.

Male Fisherman 4, Hp: 31/31, AC 17, T:12, FF:15, F+3, R+0, W+1

Climb +1, Acrobatics +1, Prof: Sailor +2

I've updated the campaign tab with the new HP totals for everyone but Tully. Something to point out, those of you who had HP damage still are down hit points. Leveling up doesn't also auto-heal you in case there was any confusion.

Everyone make sure your profiles are up to date and then have at it!

Male Gnome Rogue-4 (Saves-F+2,R+8,W+1; Perception +9(10 vs traps);HP 25/27)

I think mine is up. He was at full the other night, and the fatigue has worn off.

I do have a question before I make my post. How much in public view is the sweat box? Is it possible to check for traps, pick the lock, and slip some water down in there to both of them (Calvin and Tobias) without being noticed... that sort of thing?

Male Human Sea Singer 1

Sorry, work is eating up all my attention, today. I'll get leveled and posted as soon as I'm done, this afternoon.

Male Gnome Rogue-4 (Saves-F+2,R+8,W+1; Perception +9(10 vs traps);HP 25/27)

Tully- I'd suggest putting a skill point in cooking if a certain GM allows it. The bellies of our characters will thank you ;)

Male Human Sea Singer 1

Yeah, I'm thinking about it. It's a little hard to justify, considering I've never had a successful check, though.

Tully, a rank in Profession cook would be fine. Taking the rank doesn't mean you're necessarily good at it, you could still botch a roll. But it does indicate some training which you've more than had a crash course in at this point.

Xanxan, the box is right out on the deck, under the sterncastle overhang but otherwise in plain sight. There is no way for you to get at it without being seen by various people. Like all the other punishments, it is designed to be public to provide a lesson to everyone else.

Male Gnome Rogue-4 (Saves-F+2,R+8,W+1; Perception +9(10 vs traps);HP 25/27)

I was worried about that. Sorry, Calvin.

Ah well, good rolls at least :)

Male Human Sea Singer 1

No worries, Xan. Thanks for the words of encouragement, at least!

+6HP (4 roll, +1 favored class bonus, +1 Con)
Hex: Cackle
Added ranks to all the same skills: Craft-Carpentry (ready to amputate a leg or two!), Heal, Know:Arcana, Know:Nature, Perception, Spellcraft and Swim

Human Witch 2 || HP 14/14 || AC 12 Touch 12, FF 10 || Fort +1, Ref +2, W +3 || Init +2, Per +6

Do we all get the +2 influence bonus from Tully's victory for being his clique? Or is that bonus only for Tully?

Tully is the only person who receives the +2 bonus to all Influence checks with all the NPC's from beating Owlbear in the fight.

What Callum and Xanxan got was a +2 bonus for making a DC 15 Diplomacy or Sense Motive check to learn a personality trait about a specific NPC. That bonus only applies to that specific NPC but ALL THE PC's may use it and it lasts for the rest of the adventure. Xanxan has told you all that Ratline is a bit of a gambler and Callum has informed you all that Conchobhar is a wannabe pirate. You can all now use that to your advantage when dealing with them. This is why if you're going to Influence an NPC, it doesn't hurt to try to learn about them as well if someone hasn't already.

Tully is the only one who beat Owlbear, which is why the rest of you can't benefit from that. All of the crew are impressed by his abilities in combat, regardless of whether he actually is the best at it. Lol, it's like prison, you find the biggest guy on the cell block and beat him down to show the other cons whose boss.
