Hey guys, just a heads up that work is gonna be a little crazy for me which is throwing things for a loop. Transitioning into a new position (promotion huzzah!) over the next few weeks so things might be sporadic with me. I just ask that you be patient with me.

I'm back from vacation now. A bit backed up at work though so it my posting may be absent or erratic over the next couple of days as I also try to catch up on all the posts of the games I'm in.

Oh that's nice, a level up. It looks like I never got around to putting together a detailed plan with this fellow, so I may have to wing it. Is the Additional Traits feat allowed? (I might not take it, but want to be sure of my options)

HP:
if I go Freebooter: 1d10 ⇒ 6.
if I go Pirate: 1d8 ⇒ 4, so 5.

Leaning towards Freebooter for the combat style feat and to get closer to the level 4 Freebooter's Bond that gives folks an extra +2 while flanking. That being said, the 2nd level Pirate's Swinging Reposition is quite flavorful (and was why I took the archetype in the first place).


Additonal traits feat should be fine.


Gonna give Jirobo another hour or two and then I'll move on and he'll be delaying to the second init group.

Wow...that is weird as well. I am not getting any (new) post updates for the game thread. Thought we were waiting on someone still. Posting going up soon.


Yeah that happens some times. I think because there was such a delay in my posting the update, which allowed for days to go without an update, it "reset" the board notifications. I've had it happen to me in other games I've played in. It's weird cause it's usually only the game board, the discussion thread notifications always seems to work fine no matter how long between posts which is why I try to let people know in the OOC thread that we've restarted.

So no worries Jirobo, I kind of figured that was the case.

Oh pewp. I guess that lifeboat wasn't at Callum's back. Are they high up in the air (so Cal being pushed beneath) or lower beside the boat (so Cal maybe falling into it)?

Hmm, looking at the map again, I'm guessing it's the former. Ah well, at least Callum can swim and has the boarding axe to help climb up the hull (and noone threw chum for the sharks).


Yep, no chum or anything so no sharks to contend with. As far as the lifeboats, they're not flush with the deck, I've been seeing them as hanging with ropes and pulleys and such. Also the big thing with this is that you're by the nose of the lifeboat so there was plenty of room to push you around it. If you had been near the middle or back of them (both of which are visually wider in the pics) then I probably would've allowed for some creative description to save yourself.

Question(s): How far is Callum from the ship? Do I need to roll a swim check to stay afloat before any action and/or a check to get to the side of the ship before beginning the climbing?


You're right next to the ship, just in the water, the next immediate square behind you. As such you don't need to make a Swim check to get to the ship or anything. If you don't succeed on climbing up the side, or whatever your plan is, then you'll need a Swim check as appropriate.

So include a Swim check in your next post but it's success or failure will not impede your actions this round, but it may impact your next round if you're still in the water.

Ok. Thanks, posted. I'm assuming Callum would need to drop one of his weapons in order to climb/swim. That is if he was able to hold onto them. Having to choose which to keep, it would be the axe, since it helps with the climbing.

The fluff is probably indicative of this but I was gonna use this myself after Xanxan's attempt and then realized I couldn't and upon review needed to clarify for Xanxan and everyone.

To use Bluff in combat to feint against an opponent, it is a Standard action. Then the next attack gets the bonous if you hit the DC. In order to feint in combat and attack in the same round, you need the Improved Feint feat, which turns the feint action into a Move action. Seeing as Xanxan missed when he did this and I realized it before I posted, no harm this time around but going forward for those that want to attempt to do this.

For Tully and everyone: Reminder that in order to use a lethal weapon to deal non-lethal damage, you will take a -4 to your attack roll. In this instance it doesn't matter since Tully crit but just a heads up for going forward.
