Zinnath the Scary |
I think Zinnath's rogue dip was also for the sneak attack, since it turns his cantrips into something that does actual damage (1d3 + 1d6 is pretty good for an infinitely-sustainable touch attack).
Err, it's my intent to head towards Arcane Trickster! I absolutely figured I was the rogue in the group! I'll only ever take the one level of UnRogue. At 3rd level I'll take Accomplished Sneak Attacker as a Feat, for another 1d6, and then in a few more levels of Sorcerer, it's on to Arcane Trickster where I keep getting spells, skill points, and sneak attack!

Ok, sounds good. Then we are looking for what we lost I guess: a front-liner and a ranged/support person. Does that sound about right?
DM Jesse Heinig |
Sure. We have some wiggle room. We could wind up with another bard, or someone could just play off the beaten path and play a magus or an alchemist or a summoner or a hunter or something.

Doooo beedoo bee doo. Dobedobe...dobedodoo--waitwut?

Ohai! So...you're allowing sUmmon3R then? Ummmmm, may I ask what flavor, exactly? =3
DM Jesse Heinig |
Not fond of the synthesist, if that's what you're asking. But Fezzik has been doing a pretty good job of holding the front line, we don't necessarily need a hyper-optimized frontliner to go with him; it was the hold person that really slowed him down (followed by crummy rolls on fighting the priest), and that series of bad luck could've happened to anyone.
Honestly I don't really like the summoner class all that much in general, but that's purely a personal preference thing. People play characters of all kinds and I'm sure I've made characters that other people would go "Ew, why would you play that?" at, so I'm pretty flexible.
DM Jesse Heinig |
That's fine by me. If you have specific thoughts about someone who has posted, just PM me.
Let's go ahead and open up for 2 applicants, same creation criteria as before except they'll be level 2, of course. We would like someone who can help in the front line, and the other character can be a total wild card. Same standards from our original recruitment still apply, and they should refer to that for the document with Greyhawk traits and such. Characters need to be able to get along with the group. Expected frequency of updates is every 2-3 days, as that seems to be the rate we've been able to hit. Starting wealth will be 900 gp worth of gear and money. Crafters may use up to half of their wealth for self-crafted items (wizards with scrolls, alchemists with potions, etc.). Wizards, witches, etc. can purchase up to two additional first-level spells for their spellbooks at the usual cost to buy the scroll and transcribe it.
I have a player in mind for a possible recruit, whom I will ask to pitch shortly.
Silver Knight |
Hi.. I know Fezzik. Think I'll bring in my old Greyhawk character from eons ago, or at least a version of him.

He is outfitted in a well cared for full plate armor; a blue tassel of horsehair flutters from the helm. A tabbard of white, trimmed with gold embroidery, and emblazoned with a long sword in front of a stylized sunburst is gathered at the waist by a belt. A gray cape is about his shoulders, held in place by a broach in the form of two lions. From a swordbelt across his hips is a sheathed longsword. A dagger hilt protrudes from his right boot top of a pair of sturdy boots.
As his father was a merchant in the town of Verbobonc. He excelled at military matters and did not show interest in merchantile matters, but was more concerned about justice and honor. This lead him to the worship of Heironeous which caused a rift between him and his father. He sought out a temple of Heironeous and pledged his sword in service, becoming a paladin.

DM Jesse Heinig |
Hello, sir! That is quite the smashy-smashy. Were you planning to just gain paladin levels, or bloodrager levels, or both?
Silver Knight |
I don't know how smashy since its long sword based instead of two-handed sword based. But I kinda like, from story stand point, the element of 'devil anscetory' that becomes a struggle point for the character.
But no, he'll probably mostly be paladin levels. I do like to mismash character classes together, but being a paladin really works best being mostly solo.
Talomyr |
Hello all.
I've been watching the game for a while and now that you find yourselves "recruiting" again, reached out to DM Jesse.
After a bit of PM conversation with Jesse, have decided to throw my name into the hat so to speak.
While not mechanically complete enough to post here as of yet, the character I will be submitting is admittedly a long term build - A Fochlucan Lyrist.
As a level 2 character, he would be starting off as Druid 1/Bard 1. I doubt that I will bother any archetypes as the character will be varied enough with at least 3 base classes and a prestige class.
In terms of combat, he would likely be an archer. As far as race goes, I'm still debating between human, half-elf, elf, or feytouched.
Zinnath the Scary |
Fochlucan Lyrist.
Dude!!! (dudette?)
That's old school! And right in line with the craziness of this particular game! You know, using the Pathfinder rules to go back and play some old school D&D.
I vote for this guy just based on his use of the terms "Fochlucan Lyrist."
DM Jesse Heinig |
@Silver Knight, one of your traits needs to be a campaign trait. See the campaign document. Agent of Veluna might be a good choice!
Fezzik Faststrike |
I had to look up what a Fochlucan Lyrist was, lol. As far as the player, although I don't think any of us know him, with over 9500 posts, I think he can be counted on to remain with the game. I have to admit though, I hadn't thought that other people would be following the thread. I think I need to work on my writing skills. Don't want to disappoint the public.
Avendryl Silvermoon |
Talomyr checking in with my submission, Avendryl Silvermoon.
Zinnath the Scary |
Gahhh, so all of this ransomware stuff is screwing me up. Not directly, but work has clamped down access to a lot of sights! I'll struggle through, but I just wanted to let y'all know!
Fezzik Faststrike |
Secondly, how are we handling treasure? Can we get a link to a google doc at the top of the page to list everything and what we did with it?
I know it's only been a year ;) but we have no treasure list at the moment that I'm aware of.
Bataleigha Silvercrest |
HERE is Bat's Loot List from 7+ months ago.
Thank you, DM!
DM Jesse Heinig |
We'll be adding you here in town as soon as the group finishes chatting with Burne and Rufus. We're in a sort of brief downtime-and-shopping moment so it's the perfect time to add new people, and hopefully the group took the hint and will visit the Inn of the Welcome Wench to get some well-deserved rest. ;)
Avendryl Silvermoon |
Sounds good to me.
Fezzik Faststrike |
Here's a quick rundown of loot I could find added to Bat's list:
TEMPLE OF ELEMENTAL EVIL LOOT LIST
Gremag – fine chain shirt, poisoned dagger?
Trading Post - +1 short sword (Enoby)
Burne – 250 gp post-raid; free weapons from trading post
PURCHASE – Cart for trip to moathouse? (15 gp)
Snake – 850 gp ornamental dagger (says jeweler will pay that amount; Post #428)
Conference Room – masterwork cutlass (157.5 gp sell)
Lizard - scale armor (25 gp sell value), a light crossbow (17.5 gp SV), a case of 24 usable bolts, and 33 cp
Lizard’s Belly - +1 heavy steel shield (Bataleigha)
Dungeon Cell Hidey-Hole - peridot (500 gp)
Burne’s Bounty – 3,000 gp, six vials of alchemist's fire, six vials of antitoxin, two potions of cure light wounds (caster level 1) [used 1 on Bat], and two scrolls of magic missile (caster level 1)
MATH
250 gp
850 gp (dagger)
157.5 gp (cutlass)
42.5 gp (scale armor, lt. crossbow)
500 gp (peridot)
3000 gp
TOTAL = 4800 gp - 15 gp for cart = 4,785 - 500 (sword) = 4,285 gp
From brigands in upper level of moathouse: (post# 830)
2,000 copper (not sure how they get these even numbers, but they do)
Two bolts of fine cloth, dyed well and with a strong thread, quite valuable (60 gp each)
A crystal flagon and four goblets (80 gp)
An inlaid wooden box with ivory handles and decorations (45 gp)
Four arrows (detect as magical) (not identified – Enoby)
In addition, the brigands themselves had various amounts of coin on their person:
Silver pieces: 92
Electrum pieces: 7
Gold pieces: 7
Citrine gems: 2 (?)
One gold chain (200 gp)
From ogre: (post# 921) 823 copper, 46 silver, 3 gold
From gnome prisoner: (post# 961) iron ring – Enoby
Reward from Rufus: (post# 966) 2 scrolls of detect secret doors and 300 gp
From gnolls: (post# 1056)
Copper pieces: 91
Silver pieces: 83
11 gold pieces
Pretty lump of blue quartz (10 gp)
From evil cleric: (post# 1256) (the battle took 3.5 months and about 150 posts)
Magical items: (no indication we identified any)
The half-plate worn by the evil priest
A small wooden prayer box tied to the evil priest's arm with a cloth armband
A staff that the priest carried on his back
9 platinum coins
one black opal (1000 gp)
pouch of 29 gems (100 gp each)
a platinum chain with a topaz setting (1500 gp)
3 simple gold chains (50 gp each)
Silver: 88
Gold: 67
Platinum: 42
We didn’t specify what we took from evil priest’s room
Fezzik Faststrike |
I also didn't include all the normal equipment that we could sell if we wanted/needed to.
So looking only at coins and jewelry:
CP = 2914 = 14 + 29 gp
SP = 309 = 9 + 30 gp
GP = 3137
PP = 51 = 510 gp
GP in coins = 3706
GP in jewelry = 7110
Total GP available = 10816
I'm not guaranteeing accuracy. I also didn't include the various items that could be sold.
GM - how are we handling the sale of jewelry? Assume we sell it to jeweler in Hamlett or do we need to include RP in gameplay thread?
Bataleigha Silvercrest |
Since Bat ain't the brightest bulb in the marquee, I'll have her roll Aid Another Knowledge (arcana) and Spellcraft checks to help Kyrie ID each of the three magic items the evil priest carried.
Half-Plate:
Knowledge (arcana): 1d20 ⇒ 15 (Success! +2 bonus!)
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Prayer Box:
Knowledge (arcana): 1d20 ⇒ 2
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15 (Success! +2 bonus!)
Staff:
Knowledge (arcana): 1d20 ⇒ 19 (Success! +2 bonus!)
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20 (Success! +2 bonus!)
DM Jesse Heinig |
I haven't had a free second all through the weekend, and today I got sick. I will try to swing in and update either tonight or tomorrow at lunch time.
The magical half-plate: +1 half-plate.
Staff: This is a staff of striking (an item that doesn't exist in PF). Each strike uses 1 charge; the staff currently has 20 charges remaining. A strike with the staff has a +3 bonus to attack and damage. Spending two charges while striking raises the damage to +6; spending three charges raises the damage to +9. When the staff runs out of charges, it becomes a simple masterwork quarterstaff.
Prayer box: This is a phylactery of freedom. It functions like a ring of freedom of movement but occupies the headband slot, and it only functions for characters with full divine caster progression (clerics and oracles, for the most part). (Yes, also very valuable.)
Fezzik Faststrike |
Fezzik already has his mw sword. I'll wait on a composite bow until lvl 4 when my strength increases. Mw plate will cost me 3150. We should see about getting some clw potions.
Gm - np. Get well.
DM Jesse Heinig |
Regarding jewelry: The local jeweler has a purchase limit of 2,500 gp of jewelry per week. Jewelry sells at its full value.
I've created a simple Google sheet to use for a swag bag tracker. Your summary looks pretty thorough, Fezzik, and I don't see any omissions off the top of my head. I'm working on migrating your list over to the swag bag so we can use that as a central tracker. (It's on the Campaign Info page now.)
Also, don't forget that you have like 18 suits of scale & light wooden shields from the soldiers, plus another suit of mundane half-plate from the cleric's bodyguard, plus 6 spears, 12 light crossbows, 18 daggers, and 18 longswords from the small army.
Zinnath the Scary |
No problem there, just everyone recognize that like roll20, and google drive and such, I can't reach them from work, so if there's something I need to know, someone will need to enlighten me.
Avendryl Silvermoon |
Still here. Just waiting on the green light for when/if I should start posting.
DM Jesse Heinig |
Does Jewelry also trade at its full value? Like, if we purchase something, can we toss the gold chain at them and still have it count as 200 gold?
Yes!
Fezzik Faststrike |
I first need to know if anyone plans on taking Craft Magic Arms and Armor?
If so, at 20% off, MW full plate for me would cost 2520. If that's something I can do and the group is ok with the cost, I'll do that. I don't anticipate being able to find armor that I can use. If no one will be able to enhance it later, I'll have to wait.
As far as the magic items:
half-plate: only the new paladin can use it
staff of striking: Kyrie or the new bard/druid
phylactery of freedom: Bat
Kyrie, the Remorseless |
Yes, I plan on being your All Needs crafting person. (I've found few feats applicable to wizards.)
Yeah, someone else can take the staff of striking. If the wizard is in melee combat, something has gone terribly wrong. =)
Fezzik Faststrike |
My knowledge of crafting is very limited. If we want to add something fun like "holy" to a weapon, does Bat need to have the crafting feat or just the necessary spell to help the crafter?
Kyrie, the Remorseless |
I don't think so. It says in the SRD that the spell can come from a 3rd party source: "It is possible for more than one character to cooperate in the creation of an item, with each participant providing one or more of the prerequisites. In some cases, cooperation may even be necessary."
DM Jesse Heinig |
In addition, when you are making a weapon or something like that other than a potion or scroll, you can put in an enhancement for which you don't know the corresponding spell simply by increasing the Spellcraft DC to make the item by 5. So even though Kyrie will never get Holy Smite, she can make a holy weapon by just adding 5 to the Spellcraft DC for the crafting check. Assuming she keeps up her Spellcraft skill, this should not be a problem.
@Silver Knight: You're at the Inn of the Welcome Wench and the party recently arrived, feel free to dive in!
DM Jesse Heinig |
You did, but I don't remember if you went to pick them up. I'll check.
