Nokazi Stoneclaw |
Nokazi shoulder's his longbow and drops his beak in shame. "I, I, I, I'm awfully sorry about my poor marksmanship. I hope everyone is okay and happy no one was hit by a stray arrow. I won't be using it anymore."
He breathes a sigh of relief and searches for additional clues in the room.

As Nokazi stammers his apologies he notices a specific text that peaks his interest. Upon reading this text it is confirmed, this could be of some use to your benefactor.
Pages of note updated.
The room is void of any other significant 'clues' or texts of note.

The brave adventurers moves through the previously trapped door entering into an obviously horded trove of information. Chests of expert craftsmanship line the walls, and on the far side of the room stand two bookshelves burdened with yellow paged tomes and sundry ancient trinkets. Banners and tapestries cover nearly every inch of the walls, each representing long dead nations or depicting conflicts left not chronicled.

"Don't worry about it. Keep at it and you'll be hitting your marks before you know it." the young foreign man says to the birdman reassuringly. He sheathes his sawtooth sabre. "And that's why this is my lucky sword." Zahur says as if he had great pride in his weapon. He continues his search through the stacks.

Silena grimaces as the Foo Creature vanishes before her burning iron chain could wreak bloody-searing havok upon its flesh.
She flashes a... perturbed expression at Zahur, caught up in the desire for combat and the howl of suffering she was hungry for from her foe... but the expression fades almost instantly as she lets go with a sigh of ... disappointment. The baleful green flames shrouding her chain drip little fires upon the flagstones of the floor before the shrouding flames upon the cold iron weapon flicker out of existence a moment later, leaving the chain smoking and reeking of hellfire's stench.
One graceful pirouette later and the chain is draped secured about her shapely hips again. She then removes her wand, held in her teeth, to return it to her spring-loaded wrist sheath... brow furrowed in annoyance. Her tone is a little petulant and pushy, "Yes, yes... lets get on with this search."

To find out if there are any clues to be found in the first two rooms in the first hallway we never checked.
"There were two doors in the first hallway on the left side we never checked... perhaps there are more clues in those two rooms?"
Silena Dulare {Despair} |
Silena looks up from her perusing the catalog announcing, "We have four more clues to obtain.. let's hurry. Nokazi, if that bronze lion-motif shield is magical bring it with you. Let's more time is running out!"
Silena take Ilyanna by the hand and leads her quickly back through the intervening rooms... heading for the two rooms not searched as yet.
Throwing caution to the side for once ...results are important now more than safety... Silena leaves Ilyanna some 15'ft away from the door before she opens the door to the room looking for any obvious threats before entering to seek the hidden lore that has annoyingly eluded their searches.

Description:
Glorymane is a bronze lion’s shield specially enchanted by an entity known as the Guardian. The shield has an arrogant streak, despite its inability to express itself through anything but empathic signals, and it jealously urges its wielder to cast aside any other intelligent items. Glorymane has 5 ranks in Sense Motive and signals its wielder if it detects a lie.
As Silena throws open the doors she rushes in and inventories, being 'overly' familiar with library tactics and using Iliyana as an assistant she quickly finds the four clues. Unfortunately none being notes of interest for your benefactor.
After rushing out of the secret room, traversing back to the unexplored areas, gathering items along the way and searching two medium sized rooms you have 10 minutes before the concert above ends, what will you do?
Silena Dulare {Despair} |
Silena grimaces her frustration clear.
"Well... sad as it is to admit... I who have never failed a Pathfinder Mission... seems like this one will be a failure - many will die for this, alas ~ but such is fate. None of what we have found is what we are seeking. Let's go back to the central room search for our data there and ask the 'Gaurdian', one last time for help. Use what clues we have left us there."
{unless someone has a better idea?}
"Mur would you focus your efforts on copying and annotating all the notes and clues we have found? Maybe we have failed... but, 'where there is life there is always tomorrow'... perhaps our efforts will aid any subsequent expedition if our results are properly cataloged."
Silena will leave the to worthless rooms and return to the central library leading Ilyanna by the hand.
She will enter and ask the Guardian, "Honored Guardian... we have still not found any progress in finding the information the library might have on fighting fiends of the abyss... is there anything you might counsel us to assist our search? Many lives are counting upon our success!"
Regardless of the Guardian's response Silena will use the last two clues to search for the needed data one last time.

@Silena, you have found five NOTABLE pieces of information which is not too shabby and I doubt failure is eminent unless you stay here much longer of course.
**You do not have enough time to search further and retrieve your altered deck of illusion cards, help Iliyana escape and get out safely yourselves. You are at a 'crux of time', search for more information and invite being caught or cover your tracks and move on...
Silena Dulare {Despair} |
Hmmm.. ok. It just doesn't seem like we have actually found what were looking for - specifically tactics for dealing with Chaotic & Evil outsiders. But I'll take the hint.
Silena will tell everyone to make one last quick check to cover our presence here before leaving. She will lead Ilyanna by the hand back to the library of rare books section ... and about a minute before they can expect the librarian to return she will have Ilyanna drink the potions of Invisibility and Pass Without Trace so she cannot be tracked from their exit of the library once her absence is discovered.
As for the shield 'Glorymane' and any other loot Silena will have Ilyanna carry it all so it will be invisible with her... and not traceable when we exit the library.

As you enter into the main library area, close the door behind you and retrieve the illusion cards you hear Tobias shuffling papers and moving towards the door. He peaks his head in, looks around and simply states,
"The concert is about to end, please gather your belongings and be on your way." Leaving the hall and heading back to meet V.C. Muesello is encounter free, apparently you left little to no trace.......as far as you know......
Venture-Captain Muesello excitedly welcomes you back and inquires what you were able to learn. Any hitherto unknown facts about the Shining Crusade excite him to no end, and since you escaped without anyone summoning the Lion Blades to investigate (or a similar incident), he heartily congratulates you on a job well done.
Later that week you learn Muesello sent your discoveries about the Shining Crusade to the Grand Lodge, which studies them in detail, writes up a report, and sends it to Mendev in the hope of providing the Mendevian Crusade an extra edge against the invasion that threatens all of Golarion.
This concludes Library of the Lion. Thank you.
I'll record and post your chronicle sheets shortly via url link on discussion thread.
