Janos Ardeal |
Janos will return to his greataxe unless they do encounter a ghost or something needing magic weapons. Damage potential is just so much greater.
Actually, do any of the spellcasters have know Magic Weapon? Or maybe we can find a scroll of it in town.
Anton Klasnic |
Ah, well those extra +1 arrows make a big difference to me and should help me remain effective for longer.
And as for Janos' point, thats why I'm wondering if it is opportune to retreat to town for now and restock.
B'yelka Morfaine |
The Heavy Mace will not be that good for Drosil. It is not finessable. The Hand Axe is Martial, so that is of limited use to him as well. I would say mace to Janos and hatchet to Anton. Unless Dantrian wants the mace, then Mace to Dan, axe to Janos. The longsword is useless to me as well, not finessable.
:)
Dantrian, Thank you very much for keeping us straight-book keeping sucks, and you volunteered to take care of it for us :)
Tibideau Maroon LeClerc |
So mace to Janos and hatchet to Anton? Whoever we agree to give the mace to, just let me know and I can pass it on!
Who's going to hold onto the Stone of Alarm? It only weighs two pounds but I'm pretty sure two more pounds of gear will put T near or over his weight limit for light carrying capacity. What can I say, he'd rather read and gossip than work out!
Janos Ardeal |
Right, and the mace is a simple weapon. Not finesse-able, but Dros can still use it and he has a decent strength score. Ultimately up to Dros. Maybe he just carries it as a backup.
Unless there's real reason, Janos has grown attached to the handaxe, so he'd prefer to keep it. Just in the non-cursed way.
DM Jelani |
Ultimately up to you guys. Mace could be used by anyone, but probably best used by either Drosil or Janos. Axe by Janos or Anton. Leaving axe with Janos and giving the mace to Drosil will give three people magic weapons (Anton, Drosil and Janos).
I just need to know who has what before the next fight.
Drosil the Grey |
Drosil will take the mace for the moment. The lack of finesse and the +1 will cancel each other out, so that'll work out okay.
DM Jelani |
To be honest I've never been a fan. But I've seen a couple in PBP games that make me like them. B'yelka is one, and this other guy who was an elven archivist bard. He was badass. We were level 3 or 4 and he was putting out 20some damage a round in melee along with all the spells and knowing basically everything about everything.
B'yelka Morfaine |
I just wanted to clarify what I am trying to accomplish: I waited for Tibi to do some damage with his Cure spell, when I see him struggle (Tibi, melee? contradiction in terms...) use an 'no action required' Hero Point to get him over the AC 10 hump. Once that is done, slam the Haunt with the Siphon. Hopefully killing/neutralizing it and adding another Pos Energy grenade to Dantrian's arsenal.
So, in effect the action sequence would be:
It's a haunt? B'yelka shouts to Tibideau, "Hit it with a curing spell! If you can weaken it I will finish it with a siphon!"
With echoes of blacks and bays, dapples and greys, B'yelka pulls up the last of the party's Haunt Siphons, holds it to the sky and cracks the seal. "Enough Marauder! Be damned for your crimes!" As the siphon does it's work, she sneers at the Marauder, "Your loving wife's arms await you in Hell!"
Tibideau sneers in disbelief as his curse bounces off his foe harmlessly. He nods at B'yelka, then stands up stick straight and gives her a salute. "Right!" He struts up to the Maurauder and pokes him with his wand. "Teehee! Take that!"
Tibi fails his attack roll at this time.
B'yelka waits for Tibideau to cast his cure spell at the Marauder's haunt. When he steps in diffidently and barely grips his wand, she snaps at the Marauder, hoping to distract it so Tibi can get closer, "You worthless swamp-dwelling scum of a dwarf! I can see why your lovely wife found so many other lovers." She huffs, at him adding, "And it seems your only hammer is the little one in your hands."
B'yelka burns her Hero Point, pushing Tibi over the top to land his CLW
I hope this is how Hero Points are supposed to work! :D

If dead it would have to be Anton's parents. In truth he can't really remember their faces so it is the memory he cherishes more than anything.
If alive it would be Erica Casterbridge, the cleric of Desna whom he travelled and had a relationship with for a number of years. As in the tradition of Desnan's he then had to find his own path and they went their separate ways. He still hopes one day to be led back to her.
Dantrian Almaeus |
Hmmmm. What a question, especially for Dantrian who seems to view emotional attachments as anathema. As someone whom he admired, respected, and feels he owes an unpayable debt to, I think Petros would be at the top of Dantrian's "loved ones" list.
If it needs to be someone still alive, then I'd have to say he cares for Kendra and B'yelka similarly; in both cases it's a kind of paternal protectiveness.
Tibideau Maroon LeClerc |
His older sister Monique. They've always been close, but after their brothers died their bond grew even stronger. They're very close in age, share many hobbies, and Monique has always accepted Tibideau's sexuality and his decision to pursue witchcraft. They also rely on each other to emotionally support their mother and deal with their insane father.
Why do I get the feeling something ridiculously f'ed up is going to happen with these loved ones? Or maybe it will be like the episodes of Survivor when they fly the family members out to the island. If something crazy goes down, it would be interesting to have Dantrian's person be B'yelka since she's in the group!!
Tibideau Maroon LeClerc |
I'd like to take one of the crossbows if no one minds. It's better than my longbow for oh-sh*t moments when I need to do some damage. But, I think Anton should definitely take a crossbow and the magic bolts. We can give him most of the regular bolts, too.
Both B'yelka and I can use the wand of Hold Person, but I think she should have it, because when we eventually come across enemies with minds, I'm going to be using my Slumber Hex on them.
Maybe Drosil should hold onto the Rope of Climbing since he's usually the one climbing down holes.
As for the potions, Janos and Drosil should definitely each take one, maybe even two. The rest of us have our own sources of healing already, but if someone else wants to take one, that's fine with me.
Dantrian Almaeus |
I still have the Charlatan's Holy Symbols and the Piper's Flute in the inventory log. I can't find any indication in the gameplay or dicussion threads that we ever settled on selling them, so just confirming that Anton still has the de-cursed symbols and B'yelka's got the de-cursed masterwork flute.

RE: Cure Moderate Wounds potions
Dantrian currently has 1
Drosil currently has 1
Janos currently has 2
noone else has any cure [b]moderate[/i] potions
B'yelka has a scroll of cure mod though.
Do we want to give 1 cure mod potion each to Anton, Dantrian, Drosil, and Tibideau?
That would ensure everyone has at least 1 and that the 3 more melee oriented characters each had 2.

RE: Equipments
Gave Janos a mwk chainshirt and shifted his scale mail into his regular inventory.
Also, I think B'yelka would do well to take one of these masterwork studded leather armors. Bards can cast w/out arcane spell failure in light armor, right?
I gave Drosil one of the masterwork crossbows, but haven't distributed the other yet as Tibideau expressed an interest in having one as well as suggesting Anton should have one. Personally, I think Anton's better off sticking with his composite bow, but I'll happily shift this crossbow over to whomever wants it.
Once the crossbow is allocated, I'll distribute the bolts. Easy enough to do a 50/50 split between the two lots.
B'yelka Morfaine |
Yes, B'yelka can cast in light armor. At 7th she'll gain prof in medium, and at 11th with heavy. Both are cast with no restriction. However, she has an 8 strength... two points of AC and drop to 20' move? I don't like the trade...
Anton Klasnic |
Anton is going to decline the heavy crossbow. He is a bit of a purist and using a crossbow over a longbow is, you know... ugh.
I think I will also stick to my existing armor, I prefer being mobile and the 20' speed and increase in AC penalty are a bit sucky for an extra 1 AC. On the plus side its a nice loot drop for much needed cash.
B'yelka Morfaine |
irt encumbrance:
B'yelka is allowed less than 26lbs for light encumbrance. The Armor would be 20, the rapier 2, the scourge 3, her sash 3, the remaining Haunt Spihon is 1. Cash is .16
So, no, she really has no extraneous gear. :) In regards to the AC increase, yeah, it's nice, but so is being able to move, maneuver, escape and evade. Two points of AC is not worthwhile to me. In a pipe dream kind of way, at 7th level a Mithy Breast Plate would kick ass! it's only 15lbs and would not restrict B'yelka's movement ;) Or a mithy chain shirt until then :p
