Island of Empty Eyes Map Current Map

Rain darts into the southern room and sees a well dressed if somewhat worse for wear man in a single person cage. Strapped securely to a table with ropes and chains, you see Dhaavan, with some wicked looking instruments next to him on a small table. Benches and worktables hold alembics, crucibles, glass tubing, and other assorted alchemical accoutrements. Bubbling reagents, colorful chemicals, and jars of powders cover the worktop areas. In the middle of the north wall is an old hearth, its opening bricked up with mortared stones. The astringent odor of disinfectant hangs in the air. It is obvious that whomever's workshop this is, likes to experiment and you suspect none too gently.

Variel darts into the other room, at which point you hear a loud feline type roar along with a sound like hissing snakes. Immediately upon entering the room, you see two creatures hissing and spitting at you. One has a vaguely humanoid head, the body of a lion, and the wings of a dragon. Its jaws and tail spikes drip with poison, and a green toxic substance oozes from its pores. The other creature is a large leopard with midnight black fur and snakes bearing black and red ring patterns, hissing and ready to strike, sprouting from its shoulders. Both creatures are covered in wounds and look like they are hungry and more than a bit insane. They immediately attack upon the door opening.

As soon as you are done, join us in the next chamber," and with that Rain called to Neko, "Come along, we may need you," and started to run back out the room and down the hallway toward the door Variel stood before earlier, and arriving at said door, peeks within to survey the threat.

Double move for Rain this round.

Neko runs behind Rain (50ft) and from the edge of the other, open doorway can see the leopard with the hissing snakes on its shoulders and begins casting,

From around the corner of the doorway (using the door as partial cover?), a missile of magical energy darts forth from Neko's fingertip, followed by a second at the leopard/snake creature.

Not sure What these things were capable of but not liking the look of the dripping poison and venom from both creatures Variel take a defensive approach and casts bear's endurance bolstering his health and vitality.

He then moves into the corner of the room to prevent him from being flanked but also to keep them from getting tot he others if possible. (left and down 1 square please.)

Neko, your force darts impact the panther creature, stinging it in pain. It responds with a roar and exhalation of dull grey gas pours out of the mouths of the snakes writhing on its back in a cone. As the gas washes over those within it, you feel your eyelids begin to droop as sleep tries to grab you in it's silken hands.

Neko, Jamba, Flynn, and Amen-set need to make Fort Saves DC 17 or fall asleep for 5 minutes as the sleep spell, unless immune that is.

The manticore meanwhile, takes it's cue from it's companion and let's loose with a cloud of poisonous gas also.

Variel, Rain, Flynn, and Jamba need to make Fort Saves DC 19 or take 1d6 ⇒ 3 Intelligence Damage, 1d6 ⇒ 4 Wisdom damage and be confused as the spell for 6 rounds. This is a poison effect for those with reductions and immunities. With a successful save you are not confused and only take 1 Int damage and 2 Wisdom damage.

As Seijiro is going to open the chest so you can grab your equipment, a sudden explosion occurs in the middle of the group as your tormentor, Zarskia, these past weeks suddenly appears at the opposite side of the room from where she was waiting invisibly. Her skin has a greyish, stony cast to it and it looks like she is fully prepped for battle.

Rain manages to withstand most of the effects of the poisonous gas, but there had been damage to her mind - she felt a little mentally sluggish. (Not confused and only takes 1 Int damage and 2 Wisdom damage.)

She lifts the scarf around her mouth and nose and then moves into the room (15ft) to assist Variel against the Manticore. She swiftly extends here magical pike to its full 20 ft length.

If Neko standing at doorway/diagonally from Rain is considered adjacent (not sure because of the doorway), then Pack Flanking Teamwork feat comes into play.

Jamba looks into the room and makes eye contact with the panther/snake creature. His eyes roll back in his head and he begins chanting. "Nou anba madichon" His voice deepens as he cast a spell Ill Omen-Next Save Roll 2D20s and take the lower. He immediately points his finger at the cursed creatures and commands it to slumber. DC 19 Will Save

Jamba moves away from the creature. Toward the Padre

Based on everyone else's actions I'm just going to assume that it's our turn.

Horatio sees the threat in the room and he barks out a command to Amen-set, who acquiesces with a stern glare at the creatures beyond.

Horatio and Amen-set will move back down the stares to avoid another possible attack; both of them will cast spells that shall go off next round.

Jamba moves away from the creature. Toward the Padre

Will save 2x: 1d20 ⇒ 201d20 ⇒ 2 Curse your ill omen!! lol ;-)

Your new companion Jamba, points his finger and says some strange words...at which point the panther creature slumps to the ground...asleep.

Adular goes into the room where Dhaavan, Jiro, and some fellow he doesn't know well are...seeing the woman with the greyish stony skin menacing his friends, the still invisible Adular moves towards her

And I believe thats a double move to the square north of her and my full action. I'm hoping to get close enough to cast bestow curse on her next round

Haha! Sorry...this is a nasty encounter. We got REALLY lucky as a group with those two saves. Poor saves next round could have lead to a TPK! To be honest, Jamba may have peed his loin cloth a bit when he had to make those fort saves! He got some very fortunate rolls.

Variel feels another blast of noxious gas encroach upon him and this time the strength begins to leave his arms and legs in addition to his stomach turning on itself.

-1 int, -2 wis, -2 str, and sickened. Anyone have a heal spell handy to remove all of these afflictions at once lol.
