"Don't mind him overmuch - I think he's just trying to be subtle," I say glancing at Dhaavan with a shrug.

"But maybe he wasn't paying attention much on that count - after all - never mind the language thing, his little baka bird can be a little distracting," I add with a sardonic grin.

Valeros watches everyone huddled together whispering before rolling back on to his back and locking his fingers under his head. He lets the sway of the hammock in time with the ship's movements focus his mind and the sounds of the water hitting the hull to beat in time with the blood pumping through his veins. He could feel the storm that lashed them and he knew it was bound to get worse before it got better.

All this talk of allies for and against the crew and they have already forgotten the true threat about to rage above our heads. Hopefully Gozreh's anger will help focus their minds.

"Sorry. Figured Flynn'r Rain cou' translate, tryin' f'r subtle." Dhaavan croaks in common barely audible to anyone but Jiro. Dhaaven needs to give his throat a rest, and it shows.

Dhaavan gives Flynn a glare, and Jack hops up and down on DHaavan's head indignantly and chirps in infernal, "Vade baka te, tu blatero! Dicitis vos volo amicum facere sed contemno, avem est vigilo vestri tergum.

Infernal:
"Go baka yourself, you windbag! You say you want to make friends but you belittle the bird that is watching your back"
Dhaavan nods and gives Flynn a look, knowing the man understood, and that the bird is right.

”Right – so the dream is likely from Gozreh, then? Hmm… You ever had dealings with Him before – I mean, you ever do prayers to Him – seek His guidance in general? It sounds like you reckon He picked you special for some reason – and I’m curious to know why. Why a god would single out a mortal – who knows – but he seems to have for some reason…”

”They say Gozrah’s mates with Erastil and Desna – and they kind of worship some odd variant of Gozrah in some of he Mwangi tribes… But the Mwangi tribal thing don’t sit right on why’d you get the vision…”

I ponder a moment.

”Rain - you ever heard tell of the Storm Kindlers? Just curious, is all…” I say, my voice still low, glancing around after mentioning the last question.

Waiting for Rain to continue – I push on.

”Anyhow – these lads you mentioned? Both riggers – you didn’t see what they’re handy with – I mean to say… You reckon they’re just sailors who can handle a knife or a cutlass – or do you think maybe that got another set of tricks up their sleeves,” I say with a quick nod at Dhaavan – clearly alluding to magical powers.

”And Rain – something tells my gut that if Gozreh is stepping up to give you dreams, keep your eyes wide open for any news about Storm Kindlers – that feels like too much of a coincidence for my liking – you know? If you got any more questions on it, I’ll let you know what I know… Just so long as we keep things quiet-like.”

"I faithfully speak to Gozreh and Besmara in my prayers, in quiet reflection -- a habit I got into when I was young and spent long days out at sea. I have not however felt like they have answered me in my dreams unless I knew no better and was not paying close enough attention. Plugg, and her voice dips very low, has been in my thoughts since we were seized and brought onto the Wormwood. His type of man I cannot stomach and I have been beseeching the gods for aid or relief."

"In relation to the story of the Storm Kindlers I have heard them spoken of by travellers, pious humans visiting Tempest Cay. My knowledge of them is limited at best, so if you have more to tell, I will listen, Flynn. I had heard that they all perished."

Turning back to the matter of who among the crew they could best trust and form alliance with, Rain taps her full mouth in slow steady beat as if recollecting anything of import. "I know that Ratline has long arms and is an excellent climber and strong in his arms -- he has such an ease about his movement. I do not believe he possesses magic but I can ask him. In regard to Barefoot Samms, the female is more an acquaintance and I do not know what skills she possesses. I can make friends, but unlike Dhaavan I keep the numbers small. I do not perform for strangers like some can and do."

Rain hears a clap of thunder somewhere above deck and her skin raises, a feeling rippling down her spine. Gozreh, I respect the storm and the sky's fury. Your voice reaches my ears through the roar and bellows. Keep us from falling victim to the depths of your ocean realm. The males bark at one another and cast shadows like the sun. I keep the lightning from my eyes lest it burst forth and burn any who would stand against or before me. Each of us have weakness but there is strength there, too. Let us prove it to you, to the rest of the gods. Give us the chance to reclaim our freedom and respect your ocean gates.

Jack starts acting agitated, and pecking Dhaavan's head.

"Shut it" Dhaavan hisses to his mates the moment he realizes why, and he turns and croaks out at the dwarf, "Ya' need something?"

GM, when does this occure? while the PC's are talking or while Dhaavan is talking to Cog? also any progress with him, or information from him?

As the evening continues, Jack continues to watch the ones that attacked us like a Hawk, berning red eyes glaring at each of em, before glancing round the rest of the room.

At your croak he turns back and laughs with a few of his friends. You hear something about a "frog that jumped out of the frying pan and into the fire."

For ease I will say this happened near the end of the current conversation but Jack doesn't think he heard much or he would have spotted it.

Seeing that your conversation is no longer as private as it was, you begin to wind down for the night. Exhaustion creeps over you and you each pass out in your hammocks, content that what needed to be said for now has been said.

Rain:
You have exactly the same dream tonight that you had last night.

Valeros:
You have the same dream that Rain described.

You all wake in darkness to the sounds of the bell on the stern deck pealing vigorously. The boat is rocking and swaying alarmingly and the storm has seemed to intensified. Heading up the stairs you are stopped again by Plugg and Scourge who give out your assignments.

Plugg looks you over and says Gozreh's got his knickers in a right twist today! All hands are needed on deck working the rigging to keep us from going under. If ye got gods, now might be a good time to be calling in yer favors! He then proceeds to give out your assignments. When finished he says If this storm doesn't let up we're in for a long night. Everyone will be pulling a double shift and working overnight so I hope you all got some sleep! With that he starts barking out orders.

Plugg goes through some of the others and you notice that everyone is getting rigging work again. He looks over at your group and says Rain and Horatio! Yer working the lines hoisting and lowering the sails. Variel! Sko! You two are on the main sail! Seijiro, you get your skinny arse up in the crows nest and make sure we don't run into anything in this storm! If we hit anything, before we go down I'll drown you myself! Valeros, you and yer leg are up in the upper rigging. Last and least, he says with a chuckle to Dhaavan. You stay your feet on the ground. Ye'll be handling the ropes and making sure they stay out of the way of the real workers! Looking at you all he says Well?!? Now ye scurvy mongrels!

When you wrench the hatch open you are hit with howling wind and rain, much stronger than yesterday. The winds whip around and make any sort of climbing treacherous.

Please remember the -2 to each roll due to the difficulty of working in the wind and rain. Rain and Horatio: DC 10 Profession Sailor or Dexterity Check. The memories too much for Variel, he stays quiet while the others talk about severing hands and abilities of the crew. Only partially listening at this point, the only thought that goes through his head is, If they have officers like Peppery, then we are no match at all for the officers even if the rest of the crew is with us. Better to bide ourtie and wait than to even start takling like this. The group breaks up quickly afterwards as the rock of the ship lulls people into sleep.

Immortal one:

Don't know if there is time, but would Variel have a chance to replenish his spells for the day? I am hoping to get back my featherfall. If so, stealth check 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20

The morning breaks if you could call it morning. It is surprising that the toll of the bell can be heard above the sound of the waves crashing against the ship. Struggling to maintain his balance against the lurching ship, Variel tries to get ready for the day. Heading topside, the weather was worse than he feared. The waves were going over the quite regularly and the wind was whipping the sails in all directions. Clearly the group at night did well to even keep the ship afloat. Even though he may not know or like some of the crew and officers there was no doubt that they were able seamen and women.

Hearing the orders from Plugg, it is with some relief that not all of the group is up in the rigging today. That would surely have been a death sentence for Valeros and Dhaavan. We were lucky yesterday that they didn't fall to their deaths. It wouldn't do to tempt fate again.

profession sailor check 1d20 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (8) + 4 - 2 = 10
Variel gets right to work on the main sail. Considerig himself lucky, he has a chance to keep an eye on everyone if they should slip and fall. The normally easy task is complicated immensely by the weather but Variel manages to follow the commands of Plugg/captain/pilot to keep the ship afloat.

perception 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Variel is oblivious to Rosie's fate until he hears from up above and a little bird that she is overboard. Looking around, he sees Dhaavan summon an eagle as it flies off with a rope. Thinking quickly, Variel grabs a rope himself and ties himself off to it.Sko tie this off to the mainmast, quick.

Immortal one:

Variel's plan is to dive in the water and swim to Rosie. Hopefully the rope is tied off and he doesn't have to worry about floating away. Also, since he can take 10 on a swim check to get a 20 hopefully that is ok. If not here are some swim rolls without the +10 modifier. 2d20 ⇒ (14, 10) = 24 This should be enough for a couple of rounds.

Do we need an init roll?

Well, damn it! Who let the Halfling fall overboard?

Turning to the waves – I dive overboard to try to help her.

Not sure on the protocol here for grabbing a drowning person and trying to save them in the water. I suppose if I could catch her – I could make an “aid check” to her swim – or how does this work? Meanwhile – this assumes I move fast enough to get to her.

Also – it should be noted that as it is stormy seas – I believe the DC is 20, but I would not be wearing any heavy gear today. Just my mother’s dagger (hidden, of course) and a small satchel with some “odds and ends” – weighing no more then about 7 pounds – for purposes of Encumbrance.

It was a harrowing climb into the rigging, the wind trying to rip the crew from the ropes. Valeros had some nearly catastrophic moments but managed with some help to make it up. Lashing ropes down and keeping lines taught was enough work for anyone but Valeros still managed to catch sight of a small form washing over the side of the ship. He didn't know her name but he knew the others had become friendly with her.

He watched as some of the others in his motley band dove over the side to try and rescue her. Variel seemed to have the right idea but he watched as the man Flynn dove over without even a rope of his own to keep him from being swept away. Thrice damned fool!

Valeros grabbed one of the long ropes and slid down to the deck, the skin on his palms burning at this rapid descent. Landing with a jarring thump, he moved to the side of the ship where the three were in the water.

Climb check to "rapid descend" the ropes, (best guess on that): 1d20 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 - 2 = 18

Though anyone near us can hear this private conversation - as I am also speaking Common - it is mainly in response to Rain's question.

Ret Con with Rain:

I shrug a little.

”I’ve heard things – lots of different stories – legends mostly – but you getting those dreams so close to the water – and seeing that you’re follower of Gozreh – just makes me curious is all.”

”I mean – curious about what could prompt the visions and so on. If it’s from the god Himself – that’s fine – but what could it be about? What’s the motivation for such a thing? I mean – I know you say you pray to the god – that makes sense then – if he answers the faithful – but on the other hand – maybe there’s more to it then that?”

I tap the stem of my pipe against my teeth a moment, thinking.

”About these Storm Kindlers? Well – as I see it – religious cults have always ebbed and flowed like the tides – depending on necessity of the moment. For me – I don’t know what prompted this vision, but I do know this – something’s trying to tell you something – and it sounds important….”

”On the other hand; sometimes a dream is just a dream,” I add, thinking.

”Tell you what – you have a dream like that again – you let me know. I want to write it in down in details – Also – it’s time to keep an eye toward the heavens – by count, today is the sixth of Arodus; the fracas with Owlbear happening only a few days ago – is this an auspicious day? Your dreams would have had to have started on the evening last – the fifth, but if they happened after midnight – if that is when they started truly, they would have happened early in the morning, before dawn, and a goodly sign, and typically gods aligned to goodly forces are strongest in morning hours. Yet if this is when the dream fully happened, then yes - it would be the sixth - formally, and slightly before this storm awoke, if in truth a date even matters…”

I consider the day for purposes of historical pertinence…

Knowledge: Planes

Knowledge: Religion

My eyes widen in sudden shock!

Yay Knowledge: Religion check.

”By the gods,” I gasp suddenly.

”Rain, lass – I don’t know if you know this but there is a significance regarding this date! Specifically – the Crusaders of Iomede – who seek to fight demonfolk and agents of The Pit – they are all required to swear that oath on this very day each year! They call it the Crusader’s Oath; and while most who take that oath today fall far short of its noble history - the point of the oath is to honor the goddess Iomede - specifically in her fight against dark forces of chaos and destruction. Meantime - I don’t know if such a thing as that day would matter, or even has anything to do with your prayers – but consider the facts!”

”We are put upon by a filthy villain who would exercise chaotic rule over us, even as a demon might – then, you receive a prophetic and potent dream; made all the more powerful by the history of the date and year – a dream in which you viewed a dark and chaotic presence in our lives as being threatening – then this presence was diminished in strength at the appearance of something new and great on the horizon - in this case a ship - but perhaps the ship is more then a simple ship?"

"Perhaps this "new ship" represents something far greater - even as the image of Plugg could be an image of something else - something you were meant to face and overcome? Or perhaps you yourself were the ship - ready to confront these dark forces in righteous battle!"

"I will say in truth; though you have not made Iomede your patron - and though She walks a different path then you - there is much in Her faith that reminds me of you, lady - Her strength, courage, honor - and determination to fight villainy or those who would oppress freedom and goodly folk. Aye - I could see you very easily staying true to that fight."

"And if you did? If you took up that gauntlet?” I say, my voice growing more passionate as I consider things, the legendary battle and the epic stories sparking things in me that have been cold as of late.

"Why then, you would go to battle with these dark forces and combat them with honor - and I would see you crush them swiftly and with mighty strokes - aided, perhaps, by forces greater then mortals," I say – pounding my fist into my palm.

I calm myself a bit - then glance around, and return to speaking softly.

”I should recommend that you keep your prayers strong – and your heart true, lady – I would see such powerful visions made all the stronger by coming true soon – and if by my hand I could aid you in that fight; then by the gods, I will stand with you.”

To me, the truth of Rain’s dreams feels far greater with the date aligned to an auspicious day of reckoning and a heroic battle with dark and chaotic enemies. Even though this may be coincidence - in many ways Rain herself reminds me of Iomede - from what I have seen so far; and after this vision she has had, my faith stirs deeply within my heart.

Faith – a part of me which twists and turns in my spirit – fighting now and then with bitterness – my faith was never wholly bested from my heart. And no matter how angry I was at the forces that robbed my mother from me, it has always been inside me - sometimes weaker - sometimes stronger.

Now the dreams Rain has had – especially considering the date – these things seem more then coincidence to me, and they make me feel that there is something strong and mighty in her spirit. Aye, it seems I have not given her fair due; clearly she is at least a beautiful lady with a fierce fire in her heart, but now it seems that this description does not do her justice. Indeed, it now seems likely that she is aligned to something far greater then the rest of us… I am not sure what that is; but I know now that whatever it may be, my heart - and my faith – have had been suddenly kindled by this news…

Don't worry about initiative right now as I will just take as you all posted as your initiative. Only those who beat the Perception check can act this round. Everyone else will automatically succeed next round due to Seijiro and Jack's assistance.

Dhaavan, remember that summoning is a full round action and your eagle won't show up until the round after next as you failed your Perception check but Jack got his.

Variel, you didn't get time this morning to memorize as you were woken early and not given time to really do much more than wolf down a bowl of gruel and get dressed. Next round you can tie off and dive in but since you missed your perception check you don't get to immediately act. You will be able to take 10's due to your spirit of the waters racial trait.

Horatio, you do fail your check but not by enough to go under. You don't make any progress towards her though.

Valeros, didn't you fail that second reflex save? You would have been 30 feet up by that point so I want to make sure. Once we get that taken care of you have no problem doing a rapid descent.

She is 10 feet away to start and will continue to get further away the longer it takes to save her. Also, any failed checks after the first by a PC takes you 1d3x10 feet away from the ship.

So Dhaavan's Eagle appears at the top of round 3 and gets the rope to Rosie when she is 30 ft away from the ship then, or does it show up in round 2 when she is 20 ft away?

Dhaavan works hard throughout the day, loosing ropes all along and seeming to fail miserabley at his job, but somehow with each failure, He is able to recover and none of his ropes interfear with the others up in the rigging and doing their jobs. Yay besmara!

When the sudden wave hits, Jack Thrush violently pecks at Dhaavan screaching in infernal that the Tiny Woman fell! Dhaavan croaks at it to tell the others, and use common, and starts summoning.

Up in the rigging, the moment Jiro shouts "Man overboard" Jack starts flitting around the heads of the Press-ganged crew-members telling in plain common, "Hey the little one fell off. He's sending a bird there. Look!"

Forcing the arcane words out in pained croaks, Dhaavan manages to maintain his focus and call one of his birds to the plain, and holds out a long rope for it. It takes the rope and wings where Dhaavan points, toward the Halfling.

He then looks to make sure his short neglect of his duty is not going to lead to further danger, and gets back to work, leaving the rest to others, but keeping an eye out on their actions.

The wind is as fiercesome as she has ever known it to be and its brother rain's cold assault doubles the danger.

Hoisting and lowering the sails? This will take both mine and Horatio's strength and skill to manage (and possibly the gods).

Out of the corner of her eye, Rain sees a large wave come up and sweep a female overboard. It looked like Variel's friend, Rosie. With the rain beating down into her eyes and the cold making her fingers numb, she manages to hold onto the lines and hear Seijiro's warning of "man overboard" from above.

In the next moments everything becomes a blur as her companions flock to the aid of Rosie and she is left managing the sails on her own -- wondering how she would in these gale force winds.

She calls up to Seijiro, hoping the wind will carry her voice up rather than out to sea. "Jiro, keep an eye on the rigging as well as the horizon! We cannot allow this ship to sink or Besmara shall claim us all!"

Rain hears Dhaavan call out for assistance and watches as Variel steps up and she calls out to the males, "Someone needs to man the sails lest they bunch or tear and we are blown off course or worse! May the gods help you now!"

She works hard and her muscles strain under the weight on the work and weather. When Flynn rashly runs off and dives after Rosie, she screams her frustration and sinks her weight down so she can manage the ropes and sails on her own. What is he doing?! He will get himself and all of us killed!

Rain, left alone to manage the task, with Jiro aloft keeping a watchful eye, works and does not pay attention to what her fellow press-gang members are doing. She works at keeping a level head even though she wants to scream as loud as the winds all around her!

She lifts her eyes to the heavens, to the grey-shrouded skies and with rain pounding in her eyes and against her face, she cries out a plea to Gozreh, "Mighty Gozreh, I beseech thee to let this fury pass. The storms and skies are wrathful and we cannot manage this alone. Aid us! Aid us with your mercy!"

And to Besmara, she gives a more quiet prayer/plea, "Pirate Queen, do not take the souls of those who have fallen into your arms this day. The woman, Rosie, and the man, Flynn. They are one of us and I seek humbly to have them returned."

DM, if Rain needs to climb the rigging to fix or take care of something while the others are away doing their thing, let me know and I will make the necessary checks.

DM Immortal:
Here's what I want to do... Ignoring Variel's request, Sko dives overboard. When he plunges underwater, and is no longer visible from onboard, he Wildshapes into a medium shark.

but...

I need some clarification here. What I want to do is swim, as a shark, to Rosie. Then shift back to human and sim-drag Rosie back to the ship. The wildshape ability always refers back to the Beast Shape I-IV spells. Unfortunately, those spells make no reference to non-standard abilites. Even at minimum ability I gain Scent but a shark doesn't have Scent; it has Keen Scent (which is never listed under Wildshape nor any of the spells - no Special Ability ever is). Going through the Paizo threads, the common theme seemed to be that if it isn't specifically mentioned, then you don't get it. However, someone pointed out the fallacies of this using the Octopus as an example; you couldn't use the Jet speed ability because it's special, you would only be able to use 2 tentacles because you don't get the feat associated with having multiple limbs, you don't gain any reach regardless of how big you are, and you would quickly drown as you don't gain the ability to breathe underwater (I don't believe the last is correct though; assuming the rules for polymorph effects overrides the spell description (which is a polymorph spell)). To muddy the waters even further, that's when James Jacobs stepped in and said that it was up to the GM how certain effects that should "obviously" apply should be handled (such as a Water Elemental shouldn't be crushed by ocean pressure or freezing cold water temperatures despite not actually possessing those resistances or a creature that is large enough to Swallow Whole still can even though that type of ability isn't normally granted).

It seems that Polymorph effects work fine as long as you stick with land-based creature (or even flying as there's a skill that covers that) but once you step away from that a lot of cracks appear in the rules. Without it's Keen Scent (which, by the RAW, I'll never get) or Blindsense (which, for sharks only, I'll get at level 6) I have no sensory perception whatsoever as a shark. Many other aquatic forms will give me no benefit at all except for a fast swim speed (and not even that if the speed comes from a special ability). I didn't realize how, by the RAW, ineffective aquatic polymorphing is until now and I imagine the people who wrote up the Shark Shaman didn't think about it either (or they wouldn't have given Wildshape: Shark as a 2nd level ability).

JJ's advice was nothing more than "make the DM handwave what he wants to allow". If I had realized how convoluted this was I would've submitted something different. I started with OD&D in the late '70's and I've never had to deal with aquatic polymorphing before now that I think about it. However you want to handle this is fine with me.

As the wind howls and the rain lashes, Rain holds firm to the lines and ropes, doing what she can, what is required.

To any of her companions close enough to hear, and perhaps to Jiro up above, she raises her voice to be heard,

"Yesterday, in the lookout, I spied land far in the distance -- I believe it was Motaku Island, largest of the Shackles Isles, using a hand she pushes her wet hair out of her eyes. I saw the landmass off the starboard side, which means we were heading south towards the Slithering Coast." Rain hopes this information aids her fellow mates. The chill is seeping into her body, her wet clothes clinging to her, allowing her no measure of warmth.

The instant his body enters the water it's as if a new found strength fills his limbs. The awkward movements of his body up on the ship disappear in the fluid movements of his limbs as he breaks the surface and begins to swim towards where he last saw the halfling woman. He also keeps his eyes open for the others that dove in, trying to keep track of the various crew members in the raging waves.

Male Human Gunslinger (Buccaneer), Bard 3 (Archaeologist) - (AC 18 / HP 42 / F +6, R + 8, W +5 / Ini + 3 / Perc. +10)

For GM:

I am completely lost, and have absolutely no idea what is going on at this time. I will do my best to construct what I know for certain – and hopefully we can go from there.

On Round 1 Rosie “went overboard”. When she fell over, I assume she was then 10 feet from the ship. My action was to jump in after her on that round – easily spotting her with my perception roll. I assume I could at least be next to her, as I just hit the water – but I could do nothing but tread water with a Swim Check of 18.

On Round 2 I asked how far she was from me – I asked this because I don’t how far I am from the ship – and in case, I am trying to get to her.

I also made a swim check of 22 – which would theoretically mean that if I had also landed 10 feet from the ship and did nothing but treaded water while she drifted – on Round 2 I could swim a total of 15 feet from my starting point; moving closer to her (assuming I make the perception check?).

Of course – I have no idea where my “starting point” is in relation to either her – or the ship, though I could be mistaken. So I don’t know how far I need to swim to her – nor do I know how my last 22 Swim Check did in relation to getting closer to her position. From wherever I started I was able to move 15 feet with the swim check.

If I assume that I started 10 feet from the ship – and add 15 feet to it – that would put me at a total of 25 feet from the ship at round 2 – and, assuming I make my Perception Check – it would put me 25 feet closer to Rosie.

Of course – if she is 20 feet from the ship (which is where I started) – and 15 feet under – that would mean that (on a diagonal) – she would be 25 feet from the ship. If I have fallen 10 feet from the ship – and swam 15 feet in a straight line to her – that would mean that I could now grab her while she is underwater.

All of this assumes that I too was 10 feet from the ship when I hit water and had to tread; but I do not know this.

To Sum Up: My last post was to discover how far she was from me, not the ship. I succeeded my swim check for the 15 feet movement. Based on my calculations (which are all laid out above) – that should be enough to reach her this round (namely round 2) – if I can see her.

I still don’t know how far she is from me, though; but my calculations seem to suggest I can reach her this round. I already made the swim check to advance – and if my Perception Roll works, my theories seem to suggest this is correct, of course, I still don’t know for a fact how close she is to me, but I think I can swing it.

Perception Check
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22

EDIT: Yay! Okay - now what?

Horatio: Don't worry you can reach her this round since you made your Perception and Swim checks. You can start trying to bring her back next round.

As a free action I'll have my dagger out - in case I see a shark I need to stab or kill ;)

Nah - that was just me kidding. Serioulsy though - how do you aid someone while swimming - while swimming yourself? Am I just trying to drag her? Or do I make my swim check with her current weight as "encumberance" or what? I couldn't find anything on the topic - but I'm sure it's out there; but I don't know. Of course - as Sko pointed out - the rules for underwater stuff are kind of vague. As this campaign probably has lots of stuff like this - it may be good to find these things out sooner then later - if anybody knows where they can be discovered?

Valeros:
Valeros: I asked before but it looks like you failed your second reflex save to not fall on your climb checks. Did I miss something? If so then someone either would need to try and save you or you would have fallen 30'. Let me know. Thanks and sorry if it's my mistake lol.

SInce it's unlikely that Variel, Rain and Jiro will be diving along with the others, we get to see what happens to rosie now?.

GM:

So would i have a way to command a Dolphin to cary a rope to the halfling? A fiendish animal lacks Language capability, so, i figure there's no real way to get it to carry a rope to Rosie and Flynn and the rest of the party. SO to do that one, I'd have to use an Eagle, put the rope in its claws ant point it at Rosie, perhaps having Jack assist in guiding it to its target befor dismissing it?
Cause pushing a tied off line into the water and having a dolphin effortlessly carry it to her would be kinda awesome, but i don't think i have a way to tell it what i want from it. so unless you give that the OK, having Jack guide it on a rescue mission, I'll have to go with the bird

So, Flynn, if you got something up your sleeve, then use it. Use the crap out of it!

Question – can Rosie assist me?

EDIT: Well - as I have no idea on the relative DC's - I hope that is okay. Your post suggests I can move at half speed - which should mean I can move at 15 feet... as I am 15 feet under - I will at least try to kick for the surface and break through the waves. Hopefully that works - and hopefully Rosie can aid me - and hopefully others can see me - and hopefully they can help - and hopefully I made the Saves.

But, we'll just have to see.

Unable to pick out Rosie, Sko, still staying underwater, swims in the general direction of where she was last.

He makes sure the line is tied well on the boat, while the eagle flys at them, with the line and fizzles out of exiatance when someone takes hold of the end or it.

So that may make things easier for them to get back to the boat?

Through rain-drenched eyes, Rain nods to acknowledge Variel's words.

Her voice sounds like a whisper among the gales. "The ocean is beating her drum loudly, just as the sky is cracking open the heavens with his thunderous voice. Pray our friends make it through this day and that we ensure this ship can steer through it, strong and resilient. May Gozreh and Besmara take our side."

She points to Jiro up in the lookout -- a blurry speck against the slanted rain. Rain is concerned but hopeful that if there is danger up ahead, Jiro will warn them promptly.

"Variel, if we must climb, keep your head as well as your footing. The spars will be dangerously slippery. I will keep an eye on the mainmast. It will take both our combined strengths to work these ropes."
