Sorry man I really don't like that this keeps happening to you. That said you are the only real true front line fighter. Maybe that's what I'll make. Some sort of meat shield for you for my dmpc.

GM - not clear on what round it is formally; has it been enough time to reload and fire yet?

So that means AFTER this round I can shoot?

Okay, sounds good to me.

For now, I'll continue to reload.

This round has been really long cause of all the reactions and stuff...

Dhaavan sees Variel floating down and grimaces. . .

Imm, I didn't roll for the last elemental. Can i just take a -1 on how many come out this round for the sake of not needing to backtrack?

Edity:

Dhaavan slinks up to the unconcious captain, Glad he's out for this
Hits Variel with Infernal Healing. Fast Healing 1 for one minute, 10HP by the end of it.

Seeing the unmoving, wounded Variel on the deck, Rain called out to Amen-set (wherever she was hiding), "Amen-set, heal Variel, now! We need him on his feet."

Rain, noting the plant monster occupied with the multitude of air elementals, jumped into action and mindfully moved 15ft toward Variel and the mainsail mast and swiftly changed her animal focus to that of a Bull (Swift Action, The creature gains a +2 enhancement bonus to Strength) and started to climb, hoping to gain some height in order to effectively fight the monster. As Rain climbed, her eyes glanced to the monster above in order to dodge any impending vine attacks (using the sails, ropes etc to afford her some cover).

(Climb checks are at +10 (so auto succeed). Not sure how far up she can climb this round.)

(Active Effects: Freebooter's Bane (+1 to attack and damage to Canopy Creeper) & Animal Focus: Bull (+2 to STR))

(Rain's HP 45/52, STR damage 2 (currently mitigated by Animal Focus).)

JIRO: Did you include the Freebooter's Bane +1 to your attack and damage? Everyone within 30ft of Rain on the deck gets the bonus as she activated it against the Canopy Creeper.

I'll be at work until late this afternoon; then I have to run some personal errands. I will take my actions and my rolls when I get back tonight. See you all then!

Horatio, sorry if I was misleading. You can fire THIS round. Sorry about that, you reloaded last round. Again sorry, I'm still getting back into the swing of running combat.

That said if you all can help me remember the round by putting character status in a spoiler as we go with spell effects, hp and the like that would be AWESOME and so helpful!

Island of Empty Eyes Map Current Map

That's fine Dhaavan.

Rain if you get all the way up to the crows nest and use your pole of ungodly reach (that's what she said ;-) ) then you will just be able to engage in melee with the canopy creeper because I think the crows nest is about 60 feet up. I can't remember the height though so someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Horatio, I put Amen on the ship, she is transparent to show that she is in the room below and not on deck.

I think I lost a round or two somewhere if we're on Round 5

Assuming it's Adular's turn though...

Another Adular appears next to himself, and both seem to raise crossbows to fire at the creature's body.

Copy Cat ability from Trickery domain, like a single mirror image

To hit: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Dmg: 1d8 ⇒ 7

And the rapier of force thrusts upward as well, attempting to cave to add some damage also
To hit: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
Dmg (force) 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Not sure he's close enough for Freebooter's bane to have helped

Edit: woot! Possible crit for spiritual weapon
To hit: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Crit dmg 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
I will now use one of MY rerolls to take that crit confirmation again if I may
To hit confirm crit take 2 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18

All of a sudden you see Sandara, and several other crew members come tearing up from below decks and run to the stern of the ship. Sandara and the others take one look and then dive into the water after something.

Adular:
From your place you notice that two sahuagin riding hammerhead sharks, have snuck up and are attempting to disable the rudder. You see multiple splashes as Sandara and a couple of other crew dive in to repel them.

Adular, you can keep helping up top with the creeper (which is probably more helpful right now) or you can go and kill the Sahuagin. That said you're pretty sure your crew can handle them.

Island of Empty Eyes Map Current Map

Nice Shot Adular! Crit does not confirm however :-(

Male Elf Slayer 4

"We got Sahaugin at the Rudder! Sandara and others are trying to repel them!" He bellows, for now he must trust the lass and those with her to handle it but best the other officers know what the hell is going on.
I guess I'll keep helping with the creeper. Let me know when I go again ;)

Sounds good adular

Island of Empty Eyes Map Current Map

As Rain races to the top, you catch a glimpse of gold from among the vines above, before a ferocious roar is heard and a giant frenzied ball of golden fur descends upon the creeper, ripping and tearing it to shreds.

Neko the Murder Tiger:
Pounce Bite, claw, claw, rake, rake: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 271d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 161d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 251d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 231d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14
Damage Bite, Claw, Claw, rake, rake: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 3) + 6 = 121d8 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 121d8 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 101d8 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 131d8 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9

Neko does a total of 38 damage. The creeper is looking quite tattered at this point. Rain she also activated her luck/unluck ability and you will be in range once in the crows nest.

F Elf Ranger (Freebooter) 5, Hunter 4, Guardian 1 /AC 23, T12, FF21/ HP 78/78, F+11, R+12/+13, W+6 (+2 vs Enchantments)/ CMB +10, CMD 22/Init +4(+6), Perc. +17/+19

Go Neko! And yes, 60 ft to Crow's Nest. But shouldn't Neko's damage be 35 (12+10+13)?

When she reached the top and climbed into the Nest, Rain cast another spell (Snowball, 30 ft range) and attacked the Canopy Creeper with the ball of snow and ice and then ducked down in the Crow's Nest (away from any vine tendrils).

Casting Defensively with Combat Casting (DC 17): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22

Ranged Touch Attack with Snowball and Freebooter's Bane +1 on Canopy Creeper: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 7 + 1 = 12
Re-roll on Ranged Touch Attack from Neko's Luck/Unluck freebie (Rain within 40 ft of Neko): 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 7 + 1 = 18 Taking this: higher result.

Cold Damage, with FB, if hits: 3d6 + 1 ⇒ (1, 1, 5) + 1 = 8

(Active Effects: Freebooter's Bane (+1 to attack and damage to Canopy Creeper) & Animal Focus: Bull (+2 to STR))

(Rain's HP 45/52, STR damage 2 (currently mitigated by Animal Focus). 1 1st level Hunter spell remaining. 1 1st level Ranger spell remaining.)

+1 each for freebooter right? And ouch crap damage lol

Horatio if you hit and do decent damage you might be able to kill it

Ah, sorry, yes, forgot Neko has that bonus, too! Murderous kitty, alright! And yep, re Rain's damage (with the two 1's) but at least it's some damage.

Horatio has no idea how badly this plant creature is wounded – but his something - call it Providence - tells him that it won't last much longer...

Therefore, he elects to fire both barrels at it, hoping to bring it down.

Horatio moves out of the cabin to make his shot...

This might take a little grit – but what the hell else am I going to do?

Firing both barrels does confer a penalty, however; as my musket is now formally fully loaded, I’m going for it…

Arch Luck; Range Penalties, Freebooters Bane; MW Musket, and so on…

Barrel 1
1d20 + 3 + 5 + 1 + 1 + 1 - 2 - 4 ⇒ (6) + 3 + 5 + 1 + 1 + 1 - 2 - 4 = 11

IF it hits –
1d12 + 4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 4 + 1 + 1 = 14

Barrel 2
1d20 + 3 + 5 + 1 + 1 + 1 - 2 - 4 ⇒ (11) + 3 + 5 + 1 + 1 + 1 - 2 - 4 = 16

IF it hits –
1d12 + 4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 4 + 1 + 1 = 18

EDIT: I believe that hits with both against touch; for a total of 32 Damage. Is that enough to drop it?

If that DOES kill it, he'll sling his musket as Free Action.

If not, let me know...

Amen-set, hearing the cries of her friends, hurries over the stairs leading up the hatch. As soon as she is able, she will rush up to aid them...

Likely that will be next round, as right now she's probably jockeying for position with the mates that rushed aloft and uses a second Move Action to get a good spot below so she can rush up next round...

Rain blasts the creature square in the fleshy looking mouth, coating it with rime and frost, and freezing it solid for a moment. At the same time a pair of bullets from Horatio's musket pierce through the section of ice, shattering the creature from the middle. The tinkling of the icy shards of plant matter landing on the deck is juxtaposed by the groaning of those who had their blood sucked through their pores and various orifices.

Neko leaps down to the Crow's Nest, looking quite pleased with herself despite being covered in leaves and green plant matter of all kinds. ...here...you...always...hate...vegetables...

Horatio lowers his smoking gun from its place against his shoulder and slings it across his back, turning and looking alertly for any other signs of attack.

Rain swiftly makes her way down to the deck of the ship, Neko close behind her.

Amen-set bursts upon the main deck and immediately lets loose with a blast of healing energy.

Channel Energy: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 3) = 4

Everyone on deck heals 4 hp.

Adular, you and the crew manage to drive off the Sahuagin, but not before it looks like they have done some damage to the rudder. Sandara looks at you and says underwater They've disabled the rudder! The cursed sharks took a chunk out of the gods damned thing! We can repair it but it'll take some time. We'll not be leavin' afore the morrow at the earliest. We can't take more time and sit here waiting for them to attack us over and over again. You and the Captain should consider a raid on em. Last thing they'd expect is fer ye to bring the fight to their slimy carcasses. Just me opinion anyways. At that point she goes back on board with the others that managed to fight the sahuagin off.

Battle is over, game's to you all.

Sitting up Variel can feel the sharp pain again where the beak punctured him not once but twice. The paint and the memory threaten to overwhelm him and he lays back down.

Closing his eyes he overhears Sandara talk about the rudder and the damage to it. He listens carefully to her assesmtn to and recommendation as well. He is about to respond when Jiro answers for him. Propping himself up on one elbow he looks over at the crew. Jiro is right. We are injured and weakened from this fight. In the morning once we are refreshed and prepared we will take the fight to them. Double the watch tonight as we are not going anywhere tomorrow and those that are normally sailing can take turns at watch as well. Sandara I ask that you ask for blessings to restore our strength in the morning if possible. Then we can teach them not to mess with us.

Looking at Dhaavan, Is it possible you can summon some underwater creatures that can scout out the area now for us and lets us know where they are so we have some form of direction to take tomorrow?

Sandara looks at you and says I can restore your strength somewhat but I do not believe we will live the night if we allow them to attack with impunity. The fight should be taken to them. They could scuttle the ship while we sleep and we would never know it until it was too late. Then it would not matter about the rudder, we would not be able to leave this place with our lives. I can heal you more and take away some of the weakness that has befallen you but I do not think we should tarry overlong and certainly not overnight where we would be at a significant disadvantage in the water.

She was fortunate for her Animal Focus, for it helped buoy her strength when the Creeper had sucked it from her suspended body. Even now, it was keeping her strong but she knew it would expire and she would feel the brunt of the physical depletion.

Neko stood beside her. She bent her hand to Neko's back and gently stroked the golden cat's fur. Telepathically she sent the message, //You were brave and fierce, Neko! You weakened the Creeper so we could end it. Thank you.//

As Variel asked how theyall fared, and conversation moved as to whether they should press the attack now or wait until morning, Adular returned deckside and began his healing in earnest.

Rain felt the cuts and deeper punctures knit clean ... so her body was once more hale, but she knew her strength would not return to what it was without some deeper magic.

"Thank you for the healing, Amen-set and Adular. My wounds are gone yet my strength still remains diminished. My own magic is buoying my muscle and might, yet it shall expire and I will need some attention, if Sandara is willing to give it." She smiled at the woman.

Watching Variel and cataloguing his wounds and palour, she nodded upon Jiro's suggestion that their Captain would require further healing.

"Take care of Variel's healing first," the concern in her turquoise eyes apparent.

Turning to Sandara once more, "If you require another pair of hands to repair the rudder, you may call on me. I am a very good swimmer and can hold my breath better than others." (Via Endurance feat)

Looking at the officers, What do you think, attack now or see if we can repair the rudder magically enough to move to a safer location? Can we even make sure that all are capable of surviving under water? If we are going to go then let's heal up so that those who have spells up aren't wasting their abilities.

So I am in a dilemma as I can understand a GM hint when I see one but is everyone good for going now even if we don't know where we are heading yet?

How down is every PC still on STR?

At Variel's question, Rain paused and plainly but quietly answered, "Some of crew can work on the rudder, and in the meanwhile, the rest can press the Sahuagin back. I agree with Sandara, if we wait until the morrow we may leave ourselves open to new and unyielding attacks."

Rain is down 2 on STR. Flynn is down 2 STR, as well.

I have energy sufficient to cast two healings of the same kind as Sir Adjular. Should you wish it, I will provide such to those who need it.

Two lesser restoration castings for whomever needs it: 1d4 ⇒ 11d4 ⇒ 2

flynn and rain should take the strength bumps... Seijiro depends less on strength than either of them

Thanks, Jiro!

Rain stepped forward upon Sandara's pronouncement and accepted one of her greater healings and was soon wholly restored, much to her relief.

"You have my deep gratitude, Sandara."

Then Rain looked over to Jiro and bowed her head, knowing her Kitsune friend had kindly passed on the healing from Sandara in order for herself and Flynn to receive its bounty.

Rain will take the 2 and bring her STR back to normal.

Is Amen-set able to heal Variel, again?

Sitting up Variel can feel the sharp pain again where the beak punctured him not once but twice. The paint and the memory threaten to overwhelm him and he lays back down.

Variel slowly gets up and makes his way over to the others. Looking at Rain but the question is directed at everyone, How is everyone else doing?

Take it easy Cap'n. Just settin ya to rights, it'll pass quick enough. a disembodied voice whispers to the captain.

Looking at Dhaavan, Is it possible you can summon some underwater creatures that can scout out the area now for us and lets us know where they are so we have some form of direction to take tomorrow?

Dhaavan considers the captain's request, Well, Cap'n, my called creatures only last for a minute, little less, and they can't really report in. I could call a water-elemental, they speak and are clever enough, but again, same issue of timing.
Var, you got the 10 from Dhaavan, right?

Asking the crew Did the fish-bastards swim back down into the water? Maybe if someone can get a look around where they may have gone? Or we can try to use magic?
waterbreathing is a 3rd level spell
