Is there a way we can poke a hole in the door to see how bad the room is flooded.

Opens in... you'll remember that this is a common defensive feature of castles. I've put you in the map

Sorry for the delay all - annual leave includes family time

Flinders pushes open the door and then moves back.

Cracks in the walls and ceiling of this chamber have allowed rainwater to collect here, flooding the room and giving rise to a profusion of mold and fungus along the walls and ceiling. Although the room is flooded, you would guess that the water is only about ankle-deep throughout.

In the middle of the room sits a massive frog. The creature looks like a normal frog, with moist, mottled, blackish-green skin, but grown to truly monstrous size.

It just looks at you and then lumbers forward.

Intent seems to be investigative... at the moment.

Let me know if anyone wants to go to combat.

Hadassah looks confused as to how such a large creature ended up way up here in a sealed tower, deferring all actions to the others. She will follow suit, until then, she is just confused.

I know... makes no sense at all. Much like how the badies got into a rubble sealed tower in the first place

GM Helaman, how monstrous size? Does it look like it can probably fit through the door?

While backing up, Jorin asks the other, Anyone know if these things are aggresive or territorial? Do they eat meat or just bigger bugs.

I can't see the map at work, but Jorin backs up to approximately C5. If that is too full, just stick him close. Then he holds action to see what the thing is doing. Do you want us to roll for initiative?

For a frog, its hu-friggin-mongus... but in game terms? Its a medium creature

If you move quick (ie roll initiative) you could shut the door before the frog acted.

Initiative as necessary I suppose..

Initiative it is

Flinders 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Giant Frog 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16

Flinders eases into the room and gets a hand around the edge of the door and pulls inwards... just as the frog perceives the motion as an invitation to a meal.

Just as the frog starts to leap forward, the bard leaps backwards, the momentum slams the door shut and a thud can be heard on the other side of the door.

A brazier of glowing coals sits in the center of this room, its acrid smoke mixing with the ever-present troglodyte stench. A few knives, pokers, and other metal implements lie atop a rusty iron box nearby.

A large troglodyte, stands ready and waiting near the door, ready to spring out.

Annnnd.... its all over for the trog, who goes down in a welter of gore!

The room itself seems to have nothing to recommend it, though the body has a pouch with 17 silver coins, and curiously a rusty iron key.

As you paw through the implements you realise some of them are sitting on a locked flat topped chest.

Flinders 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Jorin 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Hadassah 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (17) + 0 = 17

The halfling believes that the key may open the lock to the room.

Figuring that a key wont trigger a trap you open the chest and find that the rusty iron chest holds the prisoner’s equipment: a suit of masterwork studded leather armor, a masterwork buckler, a masterwork rapier, a shortbow with 15 arrows, a scroll of cure moderate wounds, a scroll of invisibility, a wayfinder (a sort of magical compass that shines with light on command and grants a +2 circumstance bonus on Survival checks to avoid becoming lost.

Its at that point that you notice some faint cries for help coming from the door set in the north east of this room...

Unless someone else has use for them, Flinders will quicklit don the MW Studded Leather Armor and strap the MW Rapier onto his side.

Sounds like we need to investigate those noises say Flinders, taking a few practice lunges with the new rapier

Does it sound human? What language?

Sounds like somone needs us. Hadassah, you want to bring that key and see if it fits this lock?

The language is Common

The door seems unlocked... and on swinging it open, indeed it is.

Inside is a gloomy room and a man shackled to the floor.

He is disheveled and dirty - but he looks overjoyed to see you.
