last time I saw him, I only got to see him, not his fam too you lucky dog!! Tell him I said "hey" if you please. and that we definitely need to get our families together to hike!!

Dungeon Master

Well, we had a short visit. He definitely has his hands full with those two adorable kids. The whole family certainly look like they are doing well. We hung out at Echo lake up in Franconia Notch and played away in the water for a while, but when nap time came, it was time for them to split. Man, I forgot how tiring those days were! Man, how fast time flies!

Male Human Paladin 9 (HP:68/102, AC: 28, Touch: 16; +10 Fort, +6 Reflex, +11 Will)

Hello! I am finally back. I am very sorry for disappearing without word and would have wished you had all known sooner. Our apartment is very cool. We live in a community with a pool and it was quite nice on a day like today. I will begin reading up on what I've missed now and hopefully get some good one in before DMHW splits.

Dungeon Master

I am down to one more day before vacation starts. We depart Wednesday morning nice and early.

Dungeon Master

Well, my friends. I'm sad to sign off, but I must be going. Have a great break from the Elsir Vale. We will pick it up when I return. All the best to you!

Dungeon Master

Thanks, Bofus! I certainly will!

Tirion, please try to keep my characters alive and in character!

Well, on occasion, I may be able to get online with the iPod, but I certainly cannot use map tools!

I still marvel that we can play this game from all over the world!

I *knew* you woudl find a way to not stay 100% away. :-) wouldn't be a vacation without gaming, now would it??

Male Gnome Sorcerer/9 - (HP: 46/46 - AC19;FF16;T17 - F+5;R+6;W+7 - Init+9 - Per+11)

I will try - Zorestar is the interesting one with his fixation on math and engineering. Celestra is easier as she is pretty happy go lucky. Kingmaker should be pretty easy as we are going north and have some land mapping to do, so I doubt there will be a great deal of need for lots of Zorestar interaction. Runelords is getting to a bit of a cumulation of the 2nd AP, so I will have to watch that one a little more closely for you.

Dungeon Master

I'm at a campground in Zion National Park. It was about 101 degrees this afternoon, but the views are absolutely amazing.

I may post a wee bit, but please don't expect much. By the way what is your watch duty order?

Male Gnome Sorcerer/9 - (HP: 46/46 - AC19;FF16;T17 - F+5;R+6;W+7 - Init+9 - Per+11)

The watch is - STOP POSTING AND ENJOY NATURE!!!

Could you all see the fires in Colorado when you flew over? You were probably a bit north, or did you fly into Las Vegas?

Man-Dwarf Dwarf Ranger 9 (HP: 115/115, AC: 22, Flat: 19, Touch: 15, +14 Perception(+2 on Stonework/fe/ft) Hunter's Tricks: 6/6

Matthias and I are in Denver Colorado right now for work, and we can see the smoke, and there are so many displaced people it's astounding.

Dungeon Master

We saw a long strip of fire and smoke as we flew into Grand Junction the other day! Today we are in Zion and we had an amazing hike up to a place called hidden canyon! It is amazing here, but by afternoon the temperature is about 102 and we need to find shade, AC, or a pool.

Dungeon Master

We are having a great time! We went canyoneering where we were repelling into chasms. We hiked four miles into a water filled canyon called the narrows. Now we are at the north rim of the grand canyon. No words to describe it! Simply awesome! I hope you are all doing well!

Male Gnome Sorcerer/9 - (HP: 46/46 - AC19;FF16;T17 - F+5;R+6;W+7 - Init+9 - Per+11)

Glad you are having a great time. Keep up the good work.

Man-Dwarf Dwarf Ranger 9 (HP: 115/115, AC: 22, Flat: 19, Touch: 15, +14 Perception(+2 on Stonework/fe/ft) Hunter's Tricks: 6/6

Oooh, I've heard the narrows are awesome! Where else will your trip take you?

Dungeon Master

Hey guys! Now I am at Bryce Canyon! I love this place! The campground is a little more rustic, but the park itself is fantatic! The fam and I just finished an 8 mile hike yesterday and another one today! Check out any pictures you can find online. It feels like we are hiking on mars with all the red stone and hoodoos! Well my wife is taking a course online, so we have to find Internet access every few days for her to post! I don't think I would be posting as much as I am otherwise. I hope you guys are enjoying yourselves! We just went to a rodeo last night and saw some great bull riding! Well, on Tuesday we are off to Arches and after that we are staying in a motel for mountainbiking in Moab! The tent has been a good deal, but I am looking forward to a few more comforts of home. Be well everyone!

Dungeon Master

I am at Arches National Park. Yesterday we hiked down into the Fiery Furnace and today we hiked out to Black Angel in the Devil's Garden. The views are phenomenal, but we are delighted to be in a motel tonight! The heat has been unbearable here. The tent has been like a sauna, but we did not want to keep the doors open in case the nocturnal animals came by for a visit.

Male Gnome Sorcerer/9 - (HP: 46/46 - AC19;FF16;T17 - F+5;R+6;W+7 - Init+9 - Per+11)

You could have asked, I would have told you that southern Utah tends to be a tad warm in the middle of July. My father-in-law had to fly out of Phoenix a few years ago and the temp was like 117 or 120. The were offering people $1000 travel vouchers and a seat on the next plane to get them off so that the plane could leave. At that temperature, they could not take off with a full load of passengers.

Dungeon Master

Well, we leave Moab in the morning and drive back to Grand Junction. Wednesday morning we fly out. We are planning to be home late Wednesday night. I'll post when I can.

Male Gnome Sorcerer/9 - (HP: 46/46 - AC19;FF16;T17 - F+5;R+6;W+7 - Init+9 - Per+11)

I drove through Grand Junction on Christmas day while returning from Las Vegas once. It was closed, the whole city. After searching for like 20 minutes we finally found one gas station that was open.

Dungeon Master

We made it safely home. I love typing on an actual keyboard instead of typing onto my ipod! Well, folks, let's keep the adventure going!

Thordak's voice was enough to stir you all from your sleep. You all wake up to see this dark intruder.

Male Gnome Sorcerer/9 - (HP: 46/46 - AC19;FF16;T17 - F+5;R+6;W+7 - Init+9 - Per+11)

I am sure I am going to regret this, but here is the Temple of Elemental Evil Recruitment thread - have fun.

Temple of Elemental Evil Recruitment.

Dungeon Master

Hi folks, I am a little disheartened in losing Mutamba and possibly Mantooth. I am wondering if I should look for some replacements who would be able to continue the adventure. Do any of you know of any players that you think would be interested in joining us? I am looking for some that would be willing to post a couple times a day and be interested and willing to develop their characters and jump right into our adventure. Please let me know any ideas, recommendations, and/or suggestions.

Hello hello all - it looks like I'll be joining the fun and games and serving as team bandaid.

I'll be putting together a Half-Elf Hedge Witch, and would also like to use the Bonded Witch archetype from the ARG (which loses the familiar and gains a bonded item in it's place).

Reading back it looks like 25 pt buy and 9,000gp character wealth?

It's bedtime for me here in Malaysia at GMT +8, but should round out the character over the course of tomorrow.

Male Gnome Sorcerer/9 - (HP: 46/46 - AC19;FF16;T17 - F+5;R+6;W+7 - Init+9 - Per+11)

Welcome - I was going to say that this is very late for you. I usually do not see posts much after about 10:30 my time from you. It is now 11:30. The positive thing about you being in Malasia is that you are not posting during my work hours (as much as some), so at least I get some work done.

Either way, I look forward to meeting your witch.

Dungeon Master

Indeed welcome, Mark! We are happy to have you join us!

Dungeon Master

Hi Folks, I just tried updating the journal in the Campaign Info. Let me know if you need me to add anything to it. I am hoping this will help Mark get up to speed on where we are.

Male Gnome Sorcerer/9 - (HP: 46/46 - AC19;FF16;T17 - F+5;R+6;W+7 - Init+9 - Per+11)

Shouldn't be hard, there are only a little over 6000 posts to read. And you have me and Bofus posting, so rarely are the posts more than 30-40 lines in length.

Oh I'll imagine I'll get caught up with the most of it reasonably soonish.... the Campaign Info will be a huge help in that regard.

Knee deep in the build at the moment - have the skeleton there, but am on to the more challenging role of spell and gear selections :)

HP: 5d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 2, 6, 4) = 19 for 25 base HP before Con bonus, etc.

Not in use

Profile is mostly updated - though gear and spells remain a WIP.

Intent is to build a support de-buff / healing witch with a few tricks up his sleeve.

Hopefully will polish it off tonight, but the skeleton is probably ready for a first pass once over and check.

Not in use

Finalised Gear Selection:
Masterwork Quarterstaff – 300gp

Cloak of Resistance +1 – 1,000gp

Handy Haversack – 2,000 gp

Potions: 1st is 50gp, 2nd is 300gp (half for crafted?)
Potion of Enlarge Person: 25gp
Potion of See Invisibility: 150gp
2 x Potion of Cure Moderate Wounds: 300gp

Gold for extra spells: 3250

Wand of CLW - 750gp
Glowing Glove - 2,000gp

Leftovers: 875gp

Spell Selection:
0th: dancing lights, detect magic, read magic, spark
1st: bungle, 2x burning hands, lock gaze
2nd: burning gaze, false life, fog cloud, glitterdust
3rd: howling agony, lightning bolt, stinking cloud

Dungeon Master

Terrific, Mark! This all looks great. One thing I need to ask is if you could kindly put your hit points, armor class, flat footed and touch right after your classes/level to reveal what your current stats are at. During combat this is very helpful, and it will also help everyone recognize at what strength level everyone is at.

Not in use

All updated as requested - last thing to add is languages which I'll go with:
Common, Elven, Aklo, Auran, Gnome, Sylvan,

Dungeon Master

Just a note for Mark and a reminder for the rest. In combat, please indicate your round number. Feel free to post out of order, but I will resolve matters in order. Once I resolve the round up through the monsters, you may post your next round. Also, please do your best keeping your hit points after your character's name current. If spells, such as Tirion's mage armor are cast, please be sure to change the AC as well.

Could somebody please post for Mutamba and possibly Mantooth. I am not sure that Mantooth has internet back yet.

Not in use

No worries DMHW - and that was essentially the thrust of the question :)

I'm assuming that burning gaze is active for Round 1, and will make sure I keep track of all active spell effects in a spoiler in each post.

Dungeon Master

Folks, I am going to be away at a friend's camp this weekend and I am pretty sure there will be no internet. This battle may need to be continued after the weekend. However, I will do what I can.

Male Gnome Sorcerer/9 - (HP: 46/46 - AC19;FF16;T17 - F+5;R+6;W+7 - Init+9 - Per+11)

Sounds fair, I still have a ton of applications for the ToEE to ge through, so any extra time will help.

Have fun, and watch out for ogre barricades in the woods, there seem to be a lot more of them up north these days than I recall.

Bugger - those hobgobs had lined themselves up perfectly for some lightning bolting!... At least I'm not on wings so I don't fall out of the sky... that would be embarassing when trying to make a first impression.

Liberty's Edge

I think if you and I both pull of what we're planning, we'll make good impressions on each other!!

Not in use

That's the general idea - fire and brimstone, lightning and thunder, bond of brotherhood forged over twisted corpses of the enemy ;)

Not in use

Tirion... were you thinking The strands of a web spell are flammable. A flaming weapon can slash them away as easily as a hand brushes away cobwebs. Any fire can set the webs alight and burn away one 5-foot square in 1 round. All creatures within flaming webs take 2d4 points of fire damage from the flames.?

Male Gnome Sorcerer/9 - (HP: 46/46 - AC19;FF16;T17 - F+5;R+6;W+7 - Init+9 - Per+11)

If you light them ablaze all the better. I am trying to keep them contained. Don't know if it will stop their archers, but we can always hope.

Male Human Paladin 9 (HP:68/102, AC: 28, Touch: 16; +10 Fort, +6 Reflex, +11 Will)

Apologies. I will now be posting at least once a day unless I mention otherwise. Thank you, Tirion, for keeping Mantooth alive.

Dungeon Master

Mantooth, I am glad to have you back! Please feel free to post round 2 as well as round 3 actions. I am gone for the weekend, but I will resolve the remains of round 2 and all of round 3 when I return.

At them moment on the battlemat, I dismounted all of your characters and left your mounts in the woods just south of your current position. If you wish to use any of them, just let me know.

Not in use

Forgot to mention it in my post, but the lightning bolt should also set fire to the web in P,15 and P,16 :)

Male Gnome Sorcerer/9 - (HP: 46/46 - AC19;FF16;T17 - F+5;R+6;W+7 - Init+9 - Per+11)

If it does, the burning web should do 2d4 extra damage.
