You already have +1 Full Plate - that is pretty good. Might be better to upgrade your shield or get something else for armor. Amulet of Natural Armor, Ring of Protection, etc. Or you could upgrade the armor for 3k. This would usually take 3 days though if the merchant can do it.
I always find armor a tricky one. Unless you can really keep up with boosting your AC, there comes a point where it's not really worth it anymore; the guys we end up facing in the low- to mid-teens will get through anything lower than 25 or so *easily*. If you can't get your AC up there, spending a couple thousand for a single AC boost isn't worth the dough. Just something to think about . . .
you might simply look through spell lists, and find some low-level stuff you like that you could get a potion or three of. It's nice to have a surpise ace-in-the-hole.

I was worried about the three days it would take to make nicer armor, so I hadn't thought about that. Would an Amulet of Natural Armor and/or a Ring of Protection stack with the ring of Deflection Mantooth has? Would it be worth it to try to get a wondrous item that boosts DEX? Mantooth is right on the threshold of getting a +1 bonus for everything with dexterity.
Ring of Protection is what you already have (provides Deflection bonus), so it wuld not stack. Naural armor would.
Dex is only worthwhile (for AC) if your armor allows it (Max Dex bonus). Boosting dex also boosts ref saves and missile weapons, so it never hurts to up it.
As an FYI for all, I may be off the boards from Friday the 18th until Monday the 28th. I have attempted to download a program which allows me to tether my PC through my Iphone, but do not know whether it will work where I am going. Thus, I hope to keep up with my characters, but if I fall behind, feel free to DMPC me as necessary.

I did not know that people could see Mantooth casting detect evil. I suppose it is up to you as DM, but when I originally started playing I followed advice from this posting.
Today is such an awesome day. The family and I all went mountain biking on some terrific trails up here in the kingdom! I am off to a Scottish Dance tonight!
We had a cool day too. Spent time togetehr with Nadia at her soccer practice/"game", and I ended up bringign Marcus to go see The Avengers (I loved it--DEFINITELY a Joss Whedon movie!!--and so did he, his first PG13 flick)

I recently just saw Dark Shadows and Battleship with Thordak and Matthias. Dark Shadows was quite funny throughout the first half, but took a dive toward the end. The dialogue between the 1780's vampire and the current 1972 residents of Maine offered some hilarity, though. I can't say much about Battleship other than they managed to tie in the board game well enough, which was both good and bad. The special effects were great, too.
So are both of these flicks in theaters right now? I admit that you have me intrigued. I saw Hugo a few months ago and that was really good. The one for you to see is still Dorkness Rising! Did you guys ever see Merlin yet? My whole family got hooked and now we are all in suspense to see season 5.

I have not seen Merlin yet and I have not seen Dorkness Rising. The only show I have been watching as of late has been Game of Thrones. I did not mean to recommend Battleship. Perhaps watch it if it comes to Netflix instant watch and you'd like to see something with action in it. Dark Shadows had a lot going for it, but like I said the ending was pretty crappy. It actually put Matthias to sleep.
Bofus is outside of the dining room waiting for you all to exit, but I don't know what you are doing. Is the lack of response because you do not know what to do or simply because you are all too busy? Tirion is away, but I was hoping three more of you were around. Please post something small, even if it is simply your character's thoughts, to guide me in determining how this encounter turns out. You do not need to respond to the Duke, but you may always respond to my question of what do you decide to do next. Do you want me to simply take you out of this room and make this jerk of a Duke go away? :-)
Well folks, I will be away this weekend. The family and I are going to the coast of main and we will not be back until Monday night. I will be able to update posts at that point.
Maybe I will try and bring the lap top along, but there will be lots of family there and I don't want to appear too rude. It's always hard to explain what I am doing online.
Crazzleboks, I am just getting home now from a fourteen hour nonstop marathon! I am teaching Scottish Dancing for a three week intensive to end the school year and I am having a blast, but I get no free periods at all. Today I've been dancing and teaching all day and then I had faculty meeting this afternoon followed by a talent show the kids asked me to play in. So here I am just getting home. Cereal for dinner. Well at least I won $50 for first place. I don't have to go in to school until 3 tomorrow afternoon, so I anticipate I will do a lot of posting in the morning. I think I will just go visit with my wife and update the posts in the morning. See you guys later.
1) I just counted out my skill points, and realized I'd shorted myslef by 6!!! (should have 66 at 6th level; 8 per level for class, 2 for int and 1 for favored = 11 per level). Just updated my char sheet.
2) I'm going to see Peter Gabriel in September!! It's the 25th anniversary of his "So" album, and he'll be doing the whole album (plus other stuff). W00t!!!
I just got home! Man, I just had a blast today! For the last three weeks of school we are doing a June term where I teach Scottish Country Dancing instead of math! Let me tell you, we are having an awesome time! I taught the kids all week at school and they did really well, learning fourteen of our sixteen dances. Tonight they impressed a lot of people! Two more weeks of dancing to go! What a cool thing. This is where I can't believe that I am paid to teach!
That sounds great, Bilbo. You are moving closer to our neck of the woods! It may not be Germany, but you will be in a really nice part of the world. If you like hiking, the Adirondacks are great!
As a note, I will be away from home for the next week. Should be able to post in the morning and evening, but there are no guarantees. If I miss a day and am holding something up, please have someone post for me. I doubt I will miss a day, but one never knows being in the road.
So I am down to my last week of school. I have three more days of teaching the kids Scottish Country Dancing. I have had a great last few weeks of school, but it has certainly been exhausting. I know you would laugh to hear that I dance for work, but it is the truth this end of the school year. The only drawback is that I have had very little time during the day to post. Today will be much the same. However, I will squeeze something in when I can.
Forgive me for not posting a second time yesterday. Yesterday was my last day with students and I am going straight out. Today will be tough as well. This morning I have graduation rehearsal followed by some contract negotiations for the teacher's union to try and reach an agreement. Tonight is graduation. I will not be home until after midnight. However, if I have a moment I will take it. Have a great day!
I only went to one party last night, but it was a great time with lots of laughs! It was actually at Thordak's house! Too bad the ranger was not around to enjoy the company! :-)
Mantooth has informed me that he has successfully moved into his apartment, but that he has no internet yet! I have offered to post for him until he does.
Thanks, Thordak! We appreciate it! Give him our best and tell him that we miss him here on the boards.
Well folks, I am not sure if I told you, but the family and I are heading out on vacation to Utah in a little over a week. We are leaving on June 25th and returning around July 18th. I will post if an opportunity comes up, but please don't expect it. We are going to be hiking and camping for most of it. We can pick up the story once I return.
