Round 12

Being hit twice by lucky strike by both the wolf and the last hobgoblin Galdamor fall unconscious, dropping his weapon.

Hopefully, thanks to Swirl Mists' magic he stopped bleeding and his wounds began to close up.

Round 12

With a blow born of desperate fury Borrum is able to catch the hobgoblin caster just under the chin. With his feets fulling using the Strenght of the Earth right under him his Wareax slice the magical warding and the Caster fall on the ground Dead.

Rigo gathering his energies once again manages to blast with his green Heldich energies the dire wolf who still stands

Combat will end here as i am sure in the next round you can kill the Dire Wold and the remaining hobgoblin without any casulty on your side.

A minute passes and nothing more happens.

As the party wounder what to do next they can hear the Sound of the Warning Horn. The Signal given is one that our heroes take with relief.

Its the Clear signal of Victory.

As the party makes they way back to the docking bay they can see coming toward them the differents lights made by the two other team they left with.

Captain Sorana's is the last to come into sight, with two of her veterans bandaged and carried by other soldiers.

As you travel back to the other side of the river each team gives a precise report.

It seems that all only your group and the captain encountered the a second wave of hobgoblin (the caster and body guard) after initiating combat with the goblin raiders.

You end up back at the inn and rapidly fall asleep

(No more things happening so you can heal up and regain spells etc. Magical loot gained: 2 potions of CMW, Arcane Scroll of: Fly, Haste, invisibility )

I would like one of the potions of CMW for Borrum, if no one objects.

Borrum awakens shortly after the sun begins to rise. He will cross back over the river to assess the damage and defenses. Looking for any defenders, either surviving or dead, to bring back with him. Any enemy survivors he will tie up if they look important or he will finish them if they do not. In either case he will search thier bodies for any important paperwork/inteligence or loot in general.

By chance are we getting close to an level increase?

Rigo checks on the downed Graak, and makes sure he's dragged back over with the others. Once he's back on the other side, the heavily injured Rigo curls up and goes to sleep, letting his body recover from the fight.

No objection here.

Swirls mist will ensure the Galdamor gains enough health to stand and will ping the other characters with uses of his vigor wand until they are at least marginally alright looking. (1/2 health) and will tell them that he can heal more in the morning if needed. uses of vigor heal 11HP per casting.

If permitted swirls mist would use the available time to upkeep the towns defenses and complete the work he had been intending to do. Mostly just expending his spell slots like had had planned on to continue improving the towns defenses. Escape tunnels in case people need to fall back quickly as well.

Swirls mist actually does stuff:

As he had been intending it anyway Swirls mist will use his remaining spells and abilites to shore up the Front line defenses and use his Dire badger wildshape form to dig tunnels easily able to hold two men side by side from the area closest to the ferry that isn't easily visible (A wheat field or a cellar) and leading out to as close as he can to the defenses already dug (either a cellar or same easily concealed place)
If he felt any places had the potential for it Swirls mist would also use his badger form to hollow out natural pit traps with a thin layer of turf to cover them.
the tunnels would mean the next time the creatures strike they will be able to arrive at the defensive positions quickly. And if necessary escape from those same places safely as well.
he casts a spell and informs the guards who remain that the road is still safe to travel on but the forest had been seeded with A magical trap to harm anyone who steps on it.
Spike growth, 5 20ft squares, lasts for 10 hours.
He'd also suggest the warriors use any caltrops or bear traps that happen to be in the town to augment their defenses.

Borrum Not for the moment / Easily Done. once you get to the battle field you will notice that there are no bodies left etc. You quickly find out that Cpatain Sorana has taken care of thing during the Night. Armor & weapon were redistributed to the militia. No paperwork of any kind found. The other arcane caster had on him an unused botion of CMW that was used to save a soldier's life

After a few seconds, thanks to Swirls Mist's magic, Galadamor woke up.

Well done comrades and sorry to have let you alone to finish the job !

Galdamor took back his weapon and moved with his comrades to the rendez-vous point.

----------

They are testing us; looking for our defence and fight back strategies. If I was them, I will tried to send monsters in the waters.

As you can see Captain, we were not wrong about an "Army".

I suggest to stay one more night before investiguing on the road and be sure to not be cut from our supply line.

swirls mists responses to the stuff galdamor said. Also where did the skull of the dragon swirls mist retrived go? He fully Intends to wear that thing as a hat given half a chance.

Swirls mist nods to Galdamor " I am always glad to aid. It was fortune that spellcaster was unable to cast another of his lightning bolts. It would have likely resulted in our deaths. We were blessed that borrum's axe found its mark when it did. In future I believe I will be striking the Red hands shamans first, they are too much trouble to leave alive."
The humanoid lizard then walks over to the first and final hippogriff still covered in the gore of its foes and nods. "Thank you warrior of the skies. Your aid brought our success. War still dawns on the human tribes though, so I will surely call on you soon. " the mighty bird bows and making a trilling noise as the spell of summoning runs out and the creature vanishes.
---------------

Swirls mist looks to galdamor and then to the river.
"there is little we can do to defend it more Fih'do's spikes will likely foil some. I am more concerned for the battle of the sky. These creatures have the help of many many manticores, and the multiheaded creature that attacked yesterday took the life of my newly bonded companion in exchange for its own. Who would the sacrifice be were another to arrive? the druid finishes grimly as he looks at the dark skies of the forest. Trying his best to ignore the others who might have felt the sorrow still in his voice.
" I would agree that one more day would serve best for this, any who still dwell after this night have made a gamble with their gods on the stake of their life. Sending word to the other towns so they may know of the danger and flee would be wise. I can only hope the other chief councils are not so stubborn in their desire to see no danger."

[LE] StoryTeller

June 14th.

The Day will pass with nothing happening. The militia is still on high alert and a Caravan full of refugees is departing the town with the smallest of escorts.

The party can do their own things while Borrum/ Swirl Mist Rigo are working on bolstering yet again the town's defense

let me know if you want to do anything specifics. Swirl Mist: the Lion Guard you meet the other day is heading back to Brimdol and she told you that she will stop at every villages / inn on the way to deliver to warning

Borrum will check on the status of the town's occupants and defenses on the North/West side of the river. If the North/West side of town is finally clear, then he moves to the East/South side of the river and does the same.

"Dis evacuation is takin' ta long. Lazy, dim-witted bumpkins," can be heard muttered by Borrum as he moves through the town.

Are all the noncombatants finally gone from that side? If not what percentage is left, and what else can be done to get them moved out?

somepoint in the day where everyone is in one place and swirls mist is not infact a gigantic badger. breakfast perhaps?

With a quick glance around for overly attentive ears swirls mist sets down the fork of his meal
"allies, I have a thought. The storm still rises, those few we fought early this morning were only a vanguard. I have a plan that might mire them further but the town would be damaged."
if a different location or time is suggested swirls mist would follow that advice.
" having had time to consider it I do not think the items these villagers possess are worth more than their lives. I have a spell that would be able to generate easily burned grasses and weeds in a large area. It is summer and the forest is dry as well if we lit a fire as we retreated we could likely cause much in the way of damage. In addition with the presence of a fast moving river I realize that I could create a significant sink hole given a few hours work. Such pits were dangers near the Blackf-... where I lived. S-such actions would destroy everything in its path though. And the fire would need more fuel than my spell would supply to burn quick enough that other magic could not easily stop it. I would require you aid in that"

mid morning to early afternoon
For anyone on the foest side of town it is immediately obvious where swirls mist happens to be at from late morning to early afternoon. The cloud of dust and grit kicked up by a mansized mole burrowing cartoonishly through the town leaves no doubt. The resulting spoil had been used to make berms and other vantages but even still the sheer amount of dirt displaced resulted in several growing hills throughout the town.

"Unless you've got a way to set it off when the enemy is in the town, and we are not, that sounds like something they would not go for." Is Rigo's measured response.
