No worries, I take the blame, what with making this whole house up at the last moment and English not being my mother tongue. I originally wanted to put you up against some vermin or a rat swarm, but decided it would be too boring :)
Assuming Dracius and Illithia do not fall to their death, you can start thinking about your third advancement :)
I expect to do away with the partial levels once you reach level 2.
Hey folks, just wanted to add a few details to the massive speech of Ferrucio's I just posted, because when you're around a table it's easier to do some give-and-take to make things clear.
My intention is for Ferrucio to provoke some thought about two things: (1) what the group's intentions are for the Bastards, in terms of how we fight them, and how (or whether) that translates to other combat actions; and (2) the fact that just fighting bad guys but not investing in social change is not likely to create lasting change for the city.
There is a bit of metagaming going on in that last one, in that I am working on the assumption that the adventure path probably has things in it like "by defeating the Bastards, the PCs provide space for <insert social programme> or <insert progressive opinion here> to flourish" or some such. I'd just prefer that the players originated some of that stuff, so that we're not just wading from combat to combat.
And I would have taken more time to craft Ferrucio's speech, but heck, it already took me two hours. I really should get some work done today...
Thanks for the warning. I'm still waiting on Illithia, as we are stuck on a cliffhanger of sorts; if she is short on time it would be nice if she could at least drop a quick OOC response here outlining her direction.
Sorry for the delay, I intend to set you out on a goblin chase by Monday.
In the meantime - what have you decided to do with the formula book? Give it to Amaya, Yakopulio, or Arael?
What of the pearl necklace Dracius found - sell it off, keep it, gift it?
The broken soul stones are now ordinary chipped rubys useable to make a necklace or a bracelet, Tarvi can sell them to her jewellery store. Same for the gold rings.
260gp in platinum coins - do you spread them evenly? The barkeep can change the platinum into smaller ones.
And no one called dibs on the MW Cold Iron sickle - are you keeping it or selling it?
I say give the book to Arael or Amaya. I would rather get something out of it or get goodwill from it than just coin.
I don't have any reason to keep the Sickle except that it could be useful against certain enemies. Mostly Fey though, which I don't see being very prevalent. I could be wrong though.
Male Half-Orc Cleric of Shelyn 1.75[ABD] (hp 16/16; AC 17/10/17; F: +6; R: +2, W; +8)
Demons, I believe, are cold-iron vulnerable. (Devils, not so much, they need silver)
Personally, I would say sell and split is the way to go -- though the formula book will be helpful to our allies. And, on that, Dracius would recommend that a half-share of all treasure we find in the future should also be given to the Children -- the better off they are, the better it will be for us all in the long run.
[I'm assuming that the formula book does well toward that goal now]
You will receive the money from your spoils tomorrow, and you can go and spend it then if you want.
The jewellery nets you 300gp, the sickle is worth 156gp, the formula book is sold for 400gp. This amounts to 856gp, or 1116gp together with the coin you found. If you give half a share to the Children, that means that each of you gets roughly 203gp, and the Children get 101gp.
Glad to have you back Dracius. I would appreciate your feedback on which route you'd rather take. (Home overland/Home by sewers/to the goblins by sewers)
Sorry for the delay, it's been a busy week. I may not be able to post tomorrow and Thursdays as I'm in all-day workshops.
Ferrucio votes for going home by the sewers, or staying at the inn (he is happy to front up the 14gp). He only thinks staying at the inn is a good idea, though, if all the Children are there. He doesn't want to leave anyone unprotected back at the hideout.
If Bluehood (or her agent) did not take the remaining shadowstones, it's mostly because I have no idea where you keep them :) I'd not assume they simply lie around, and they are likely hidden in some place which carried a risk of alerting you while searching for them - Bluehood has no interest in this since you already proved willing to give her a stone on her usual terms, so she expects to get the rest from you as well.
As for the Children, as written they quietly fade into background after Book 1 is over and don't play any role in future adventures. It is also explicitly said that they (with the possible exception of Janiven or Arael) are not to be involved in direct combat side-by-side with the players. I did, however, recently stumble upon an excellent addition by one Karui Kage, which details the options and benefits of devoting resources to train these NPCs. I'll try to incorporate this into the game in some way.
We were waiting for Illithia to post...but I suspect something has claimed our GM. Unless one of us wants to adjudicate the goblins' actions in Flykiller's absence I'm not sure there's anything more we can do.
Yeah, I've actually been lurking in another game Flykiller was GMing, and he's gone missing there too. Unless one of you thinks you can find a GM willing to take things over (and we re-open recruitment for Illthia's replacement), I think this may be over.
Pity, because I really enjoyed this group and how Flykiller was working things. For a long while, we were clicking pretty well.
Sorry, nobody comes to mind. I will ask the players in the Carrion Crown PbP I'm running if they know anyone, but I don't have the time to take on another campaign unfortunately.
And it's strike three from me. Sorry everyone. I really enjoyed this one.
One of my GMs did say that he would be willing to offer you spots in our Crypt of the Everflame game once we finish the module and go onto Masks of the Living God. But we've been slowing down in that game too, so I don't know when we'll get there.
