Not break LoS, but get further away so I can't be affected. Main goal is to stay 60-90 feet away, and be able to attack without having to avert my gaze. Curious how it works too, if he moves into range of me during his turn, but I've already gone..

Also, just in case any of the attacks from the previous round were close, as long as he was within 30 feet I get point black and sneak attack if he's flatfooted/threatened (last attack would hit ac 24)

Ah, alright, anyway on that roof/building I can get farther away and still be in LoS? Maybe I can run and get around to the other part of the building that sticks out further? Worst case I'll move as far south and east as I can, and hopefully be able to take a 5 foot step next round and have LoS.

Good to know about the ranged sneak attack, first character I've had with sneak attack at all. I'm not huge on the new OoB, mainly because you have to take a standard action to get the extra dice, and miss out on Free attack and Zen Archery.

I'll move you as far away as possible while still within LOS. Probably the edge of that little wing.

Let's go for the larger wing even if it takes another round. If I can't make it all the way there with a double move this round, and a 5 foot step next round, I'll either blind fire, or use a move action next round too.


Hulk Smash Round 6

Initiative order: Epik, Town Guard, Dalamus, Nemoris, Baby, Magma, Sam, Nowzai, Hulk

Note, 2 of Nemoris' arrows struck the hulk causing significant damage last round after the point blank adjustment. The creature is bleeding from multiple wounds and is enraged

Epik in his confused state moves in and lashes out at his attacker, but his blows are wild and mistimed.

The guard, now completely in chaos move in various directions. Two move in to attack the hulk drawing a casual swat that the orcs duck under but their attacks are ineffectual. What isn't ineffectual are the mad one who starts carving into the crowd and the one that cuts his own throat, spraying blood everywhere as he collapses.

Nemoris moves to a better vantage point just in time to see a woman leaning out of a window below where she once was, carrying a baby in swaddling clothes. She starts screaming for someone to save her child as it seems a fire has started behind her. The hulk glances at her and her face contorts in confusion and she drops her child and walks back in. Luckily the blanket catches on a nail on the window sill, but the baby is screaming and wriggling like mad, working the blanket knots loose.

Magma stands there and babbles Awesome roll gone to waste, sadness.Sam hides behind the cart and casts a spell. Nowzai, affected by the spell, is able to stave it off this round and continue with his spell action Unless you wish to change your action given you are confused now The archon scorches the beast slightly.

The hulk takes a singular focus on Epik, beating him with a passion not normally seen by these creatures. Epik's armor and shield bends under the pressure and the force of the blows sound like they're cracking bones and he crumples under the deadly assault, barely breathing as the last few precious seconds of his lifeblood begin to pour out. Epik is at -12 and dying

Can I reach the baby by laying down on the roof, or would I need to climb down to grab it?

I'll prioritize saving the baby over making a full attack, but I'd like to get one arrow off if possible.

I don't think the gaze attack reaches this far either, but I can appreciate the idea of the baby taking me out of the fight ;)


A climb would be required.


Hulk Smash Round 7

Initiative order: Epik, Town Guard, Dalamus, Nemoris, Baby, Magma, Sam, Nowzai, Hulk

Epik bleeds out as Dalamus leaps down the side of the building, rushing to his aid and touching him with a glowing finger that seals all his major bleeding arteries. Stabilized at -13

The Guard continue to babble and hurt themselves and another cuts down a civilian.

Nemoris makes a break for the baby, sprinting along the roof top and grabbing the edge swinging himself down. The baby works itself loose of the swaddling clothes and Nemoris drops 5 feet, one hand catching the window sill and the other grabbing the screaming child by the arm as he saves him from certain death.

The confused stone child takes a swing at the aggravating mess around him, cleaving a guardsman in two.

Sam casts another spell as Nowzai babbles to himself, his archon continuing to ping away at the hulk relentlessly. The hulk in a near rage swings fruitlessly at the massive stonechild but can't penetrate his steel plate.

If I can safely get back in the window and hold onto the baby, I'll pull myself up and see if there is a safe place to put it (or someone who is not being affected by the hulk), and can take the baby from me.

The inside of the room is on fire. You can get in with a move action or climb down with a move action (-5 for holding the babe) Alternatively you can drop 10 feet. Note you're within the hulk's reach ...

Ah, I didn't realize I moved that far to get the baby. Which square am I in then?

I'll use an acrobatics roll and choose to drop the 10 feet. After I drop off of the building I'd like to draw my shield and use total defense. Maybe throw a 5 foot step in there to try and get as far away from the hulk as I can.

Hulk Smash Round 8

Initiative order: Epik, Town Guard, Dalamus, Nemoris, Baby, Magma, Sam, Nowzai, Hulk

The majority of the guard surge forward attacking and flanking the beast. The one who'd cut down two civilians earlier, distraught with his actions, takes his own life.

Dalamus drags Epik safely out of the beast's range, while Nemoris drops to the ground landing in a soft roll and coming up with screaming baby intact and crouching behind his shield. You're in the baby's square on the last map, just south of the Hulk

Magma finally takes a big swing at the hulk and splits it's shell open in the center of its chest, eliciting a tremendous roar, but before he can do anything about it, the archon fires two bolts of light straight into the vulnerable opening and the creature burns from the inside, light shooting from it's eyes as it collapses ... smoking.

The confused members of the crowd come to and while most people continue to flee, a couple stop to tend to loved ones.

A few moments later, a couple gnomes in robes wielding wands along with a half-dozen well-armed half-elves pop into existence nearby and immediately start cordoning off the area in the "name of the MTA."

END COMBAT! Each of you gains 1,370 XP(1,070xp for the hulk, 400xp for helping Beppo with his cart, 400xp for saving the baby, less 500xp for the 5 people that died)

"Excuse me sir, what is the MTA? Do you know why or where that thing had come from? We were here the whole time, and that creature burst out of a building"

Dalamus will be dusting himself off and rubbing his sore body while speaking to the gnomes

I'm fairly sure I will be unsuccessful at soothing the crying baby, but I'll see if I can find someone to hold him. I'll also yell, "There are fires in the building and we need to see about rescuing anyone that might still be inside!"

I will move towards the burning building and see what I can do. Fairly resistant to fire so let me know what kind of damage I would be looking at to run in and try and save the mother.


Aftermath

The Town Guard flows in steadily, creating order out of the chaos. They quickly take to roping off Maavu's Warehouse which they refer to as "the crime scene." Three half-orcs are placed on watch. The MTA gnomes continue their examination of the hulk itself and their perimeter is secured by the half-elves. As Dalamus approaches, they recognize him as one of the heroes who brought down the hulk and they let him in. The gnomes are commenting on the hulk as he walks up.

"Ever seen anything like that?"
"Nope, first time ... exciting isn't it?"
"Look at how the light burned through its innards!"

Dalamus walks up and answers his questions and one gnome, less interested in the hulk than the others comes over. "Magical Threats Agency. Just stood up by the Lord Mayor. Created to respond to things like ... well, this," he waves his hand at the still smouldering corpse.

The Guard creates a bucket brigade, grabbing Magma to assist for his size and offer Sam a point position since he's resistant to fire and can get closer to it before dousing the flames. Within 20 minutes, you're able to secure the fire and allow several people who were trapped to exit. One of them is the baby's mother, Kyra, and she exclaims in relief and wraps Nemoris in a monstrous hug, sobbing alternating thank yous and sorrys as she secures her child again.

The bodies of the victims are lined in the street. The mood is somber given that three of them are guardsmen and the others are serious and quiet about their business.
