Agrippa searches the pier well. Take 20
Later...
Agrippa's fingers rub the area with his full initials H.C.A.V. he thinks this is odd, because he has only ever thought of himself as Heinrich, or Agrippa. The final initial though, puzzles him. But memories, hazy ones, of a mother.

"Well, we are supposed to escort you to her so, that will be the perfect opportunity, as for what comes after, we have a meeting at the Lowl's mansion. Wanna come put the countess to sleep permanently?"
Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa |
Indeed. All roads lead to Iris Hill. The Cult of Hastur knows we are coming.
DM Fang Dragon |
I'm not too keen on running a DMPC through Iris Hill, although she will follow if you insist. I'd have to up rate the enemies and to be fair Winter would stand a good chance of getting killed. That will be annoying for you later on where having a friendly cleric NPC is advisable. Anyway let me know what you want to do.
Winter Klaczka |
Winter smiles enigmatically before replying to Filbert, "So tempting Filbert... However Cesadia asked first, she fears there will be reprisals from the cult. They already broke in once and killed several agents. I don't think she could bear for that to happen a second time."
OK any further business before I move us onto Iris Hill? In theory now is a good time to purchase wands etc...
Filbert Springbit |
"Perhaps you're right about them attacking again, so we should beat them to the punch, that will be at Iris Hill." patting Winter on her elbow "Keep your eyes open, we want to find both you and Cesadia in good health when we return. We'll likely be limping back" Filbert says with a crooked grin.
DM Fang Dragon |
OK I'm going to move us on then. If you need to retcon any purchases do that in earlier spoilers please.
You escort Winter through the driving rain back to the Sleepless Agency without further incident. You then set off on the short journey north west towards Iris Hill... The rain and low cloud muffles all other sounds yet you feel watched somehow although despite the streets being deserted.
You'd been told Iris Hill now has a bit of a hedge around it, but you where all floored when you actually saw it. Twenty feet of vicious looking thorns over a yard deep surround the grounds with the only passage through a squat gatehouse. It feels wrong somehow, a memory bubbles up of standing here years ago in summer. The house was rather grand and it commanded great views over the town, what ever could have possessed Lowls to hide like this?
Somehow you're sure the Gatehouse is new too. You move closer to examine it. It has a pair of closed heavy wooden doors bearing a small sliding hatch.
Map updated.

It takes filbert a few attempts but eventually his blasts cave the doors in! From inside the wreckage you hear a gravelly voice shout shout, "What the hell!? Don't just stand there, GET THEM!"A pair of brutish humanoids wielding battleaxes surge forwards. Disturbingly they have blood red eyes, strange tattoos over their faces and their jagged teeth appear to have been filed down to points! Behind them is a richly clothed man, possibly a noble, armed with a rapier and dagger and the hint of madness in his eyes.

Sorry Fang, read that earlier but wasn't able to post at the time, then your question slipped my mind. I hadn't thought of the d20 and it might still come into play, how long is it available?

Just as a reminder re inspiration, I'm copying the system from 5e in this campaign. Basically for good rp or achieving something important in the story you can earn an inspiration point which can be spent at any time to roll twice on a d20 roll. You can only have 1 inspiration point max. I keep track of inspiration in the game summary line. Currently: Inspiration: Filbert 0, Heinrich 1, Lizzie 1, Luxina 1, Momijii 1
I'll wait a bit longer for Luxina to post, although if needed I'll bot her tonight.
