Looking browbeaten Ikil stammers, "Uhhh I guess. Um about that hot meal though? Will it be long?" His stomach rumbles loudly as he folornly trudges back to the room.

For now w have unpleasant work to take care of." putting on a brave face Filbert turns back to the door Agrippa has opened. oh joy more fog "Appears we are heading in the right wrong direction" he says aloud to no one in particular.

Approaching the fog hesitantly, Filbert tries to creep up the steps coming into contact with a little fog as possible.

However, the Cult Hunter moves to the northern doors and listens at them. He opens the doors using the keys from Losandro, or his own skills.

Filbert there is no door barring the stairs up. The map for the upper level where filbert is in the bottom right hand corner.

Filbert crawls up a flight of wide mist choked stairs which rise up to a chamber that has almost entirely collapsed upon itself. Shattered pieces of wall and ceiling timbers, knotted like broken fingers, slump precariously. Despite the chamber’s near ruin, a number of tables, chairs, and bedrolls lie about the room. A hall choked with fog lies through a gap in the wall to the north. The mist is very thick here and you can barely make out the end of the room. Around a distant table are four figures apparently playing at dice. Further back into the room, a large squat form sits on the end of a bed fiddling with something. Something about this bleak room screams of violence, you feel most unwelcome.

Meanwhile Heinrich finds the door locked but it soon succumbs to his picks. Within a row of wicker rocking chairs faces the room’s tall windows, staring into the mist licking the outside of the glass. A heap of broken planks lies in one corner, the wreckage of a wooden stairwell that still partially clings to the wall above. A layer of fog clings to the floor with a thin stream pouring down from above. Everything is deathly silent bar the sounds of your breathing.

Climb DC 12:
There are enough handholds and bits of broken beams poking out of the walls to make the ascent to the remaining staircase relatively easy.

Actions? I'd suggest somebody heals Momijii.

Sigh 1st post attempt eaten by the boards, , Filbert would have healed Momijii before departing on his scouting trip; if the wand wasn't available. Minimum heal 8hp w/ 3 NL taken.

Filbert checks on the condition of Momijii before going up the stairs only to return and report his findings,

"At least 5 in the room above, and likely not a fair fight, they haven't been so far so this one likely won't be as well. If we have another option to move forward perhaps that would be best."

Filbert manages to creep back down safely, the jaundiced yellow fog clinging to him like a cloak.

Momijii gave Lizzie the customary bow of thanks and said, "Much better." She listened as Filbert reported his scouting mission and nodded as she listened. "I don't think we dare leave them behind us," the tien woman said, "If we get badly injured further up we may have to force our way through them coming back and by then we won't be in any condition to handle them. Even worse they could come up behind us and take us by surprise if we have to fight something above." She shook her head, "No, best to deal with them now, while surprise is on our side." She considered and asked, "Is it possible for us to attack them from a distance at the point you were spying on them from? If we can soften them up first it will make dealing with them far easier."

Filbert should be light enough for Momijii and Agrippa to pass up to the stairs as long as they are within 8-10' of the floor.....

Only the broken section of the stairs is 'difficult' at DC 12 climb. Aid another's and clever usage of rope may give bonuses. Yes I suppose they could boost you up or throw you up ;)

Despite the lower part of the stairs having collapsed, Agrippa finds numerous hand holds and makes short work of the climb. The upper section of the stairs is rickety but he thinks it will hold. A layer of mist from above hugs the stairs and for a moment a flash of green lightning puts everything into bright relief. The thunder when it comes is loud and weirdly distorted, it rattles the windows and floor boards.

Are you going to lower some rope to help filbert up?

seeing Agrippa make short work of the climb, Filbert scrambles after him,

Nodding in agreement with Luxina's request Momijii went to climb up as well and help set up a rope for the others to use on their climb up. As she went it almost seemed as though she flowed up the side of the debris without dislodging so much as a mote of dust. She even managed to beat Heinrich up who did passably well himself. Now safely at the top she tied off a rope and dropped it down to the others before saying, "If you have to tie it around your waist and Heinrich and I can pull you up."

I'm going to handwave the climb.
Momijii lithely bounds up the stairs and together with Heinrich's help they pull the rest of the party up using a makeshift pulley system. Up above in the top of the tower broken windows look out across a sea of churning saffron fog. Inside, dusty crates of every size crowd the room. Within the thickest part of the fog is a man standing arms spread spewing an unending cloud of yellow! Your presence has a startling effect on the fog, it whips up into an all enveloping cloud which conceals the man within!
The fog obscures all sight, including darkvision, beyond 5 feet. A creature 5 feet away has concealment (attacks have a 20% miss chance). Creatures farther away have total concealment (50% miss chance, and the attacker cannot use sight to locate the target). Actions?

Filbert moves around the edge of the crates, to get a better shot, the fog making it difficult to see what he's aiming at. Filbert attempts to climb on top of the crate in front of him.

Drank an extract of Firebelly. Got Fire Resistance 5 for 3 minutes or 3 uses of spewing a 15 foot cone of fire.

Agrippa isn't fooled by the eerie way the mists twist and deaden sounds, he marches right up the the poor soul who is still spewing an endless stream of ghastly yellow vapor!

I've moved you all in a bit closer. Remember the cloud gives total concealment beyond 5' so you need to be in melee range if you want to do any damage.

Sorry Filbert you can't see through the fog, the onierogen has total concealment. You know roughly which way it is. To attack you'll need to move. I'll let you redo your action.

Filbert moves forward, following Agrippa and Lizzie, his attack's aim based on the direction of their attack.
Filbert will stand behind Lizzie and Agrippa, he is using their positions for his aim, should still be 50% miss chance as roll above. Filbert eats one point of burn GM, Filbert is a jeweler, he's using the angles of attack from Lizzie and Agrippa to aim for the intersection, jewelry is all about the angles.

Lizzie sees Filbert's shot rock the Oneirogen back several paces, what was once a man is now coughing out a mixture of blood and yellow mist!
