The first game Raxus was in had a Calistra worshiping bardess. She was like someone had sat down to write examples of things not to do in a pbp game.
In a party full of combat goons she tried to turn every encounter into an extremely graphic seduction scene leaving the rest of us feeling awkward and unnecessary, she treated enemies more kindly than the party, drove off the two female characters in the group, tried to make the men jealous of each other and complained out of game when none of the men in the party were interested in her after a while, split the party when her character decided to leave and go to a bandit fort while we were dealing with a plague outbreak, and eventually make the GM so sick of it all that he quit.
ever since then I've been a little wary of worshipers of Calistra. I like her conceptually, but in practice she seems like an excuse for behavior that isn't really conducive to good play experience.
(not that you'd do that Gene, this is just an anusung rant)

Yeah, my cleric of Calistria was never quite that bad. Altough i did cause a fight between the party rogue and barbarian, which was hilarious. The rogue's poison killed the barbarian after he was already dead, due to massive con damage. Everyone else stood by and watched it happening. Couldnt stop laughing after the barb. died

So they both died? Wow. O.O
I'd *really* like to avoid that level of party conflict unless it's stated from the beginning that everyone expects it. For those games I tend to make very different characters.
I guess it's something worth bringing up now though, sort of a discussion of the underlying meta-themes we like in games.
Personally, I like it best when the party is really cohesive, trusting of each other and have good in-game reasons to follow the unspoken out-of-game rules of game ettiquite (try not to split the party, don't steal from or lie to party members, etc)
Basically, I like it when a party members are friends with common goals (even if they have different methods of accomplishing them).

Tekk, as a worshipper of Calistria, is all about revenge (and "justice" in his mind). He doesn't bother with the lust portion of her domain. He probably doesn't even realize so many elves worship Calistria.
I'm also definitely on board with all the characters getting along as opposed to inter-party conflict.

If you don't want to add someone if he doesnt show up, I could change Ceinwynn into a rogue type (skill monkey)/melee character to round out the party and we can run with 5? It is up to you of course, but we don't have that role filled. I am fine staying with a bard as well.Changing my class may be easier than adding another.

I apologize for my absence. I've been getting ready for a trip and life got away from me for a couple days.
I'm going to be out of town for the next week, but I'll still be able to post from my phone. I'll try not to fall behind again.

o no i didnt mean it like that. I'm just making sure i got the characters gender correct. I'm sorry if i came off the wrong way.
Bahahaha! Gene, you are going to be a blast to poke fun at, I can already tell.

This is a purely stylistic request, so please don't think it's any kind of judgement call-
I find that I enjoy games the most when any discussion or communication that isn't In Character is either in this thread or in blue text
I can adapt to to whatever others like if I'm in the minority where play style choices are concerned. I just wanted to bring it up so we could talk about it and get everyone on the same page.

Agreed.

I will do my best to put ooc stuff in here or blue in game play.
on that note Spectrum is the only person who understood any thing that I say in combat (I suddenly talk in Infernal during combat stress.)
I'll put what I say in a spoiler from know on for him to decide to translate or not lol.
who's turn is it?
Spectrum |
That sounds great.
Another fun trick is to go on google translate and pick a language to represent Infernal (something harsh and angry looking like Cyrillic), type what you want to say, copy-paste it over, and put the English translation in a spoiler.
It's a little more work but the effect is pretty cool.

Wow thanks for letting me still join. My character is done but I still need to read all the threads in the game. Sorry about my extreme lateness. My mom was sick and i have been caring for her for a few weeks. She is better now.
Mathius
Edit: Need traits and a more complete eq list.
Brun IronBender |
Done reading all the threads. Given my characters notable arrival in sandport 10 years before i am sure that Spectrum would know of him and might even be interested in where he comes from. The rest of you might have seen him on the job since he works as a town guard. I think that maybe he was on duty else where in the festival and was bus dealing with a different goblin attack.
I still need to adjust my traits and eq but otherwise i am good. How much money were we supposed to start with?

Great Bald Head, have you passed out our second traits yet? Did I miss that somehow.
Brun, Spectrum has a good rappor with the Guard, and the town is small enough that our two characters are probably pretty well known to each other. Spectrum is a pretty reclusive fellow most of the time so it's unlikely that they're friends yet, but they probably don't dislike each other for any reason I can think of.
Spectrum |
Oh. Nevermind. I must have been remembering something from a different recruitment and thinking it was you.
It does remind me though, are we going to have the chance to go for Acheivement Feats?
Spectrum |
They are a pretty neat concept in my opinion. Even if the ones listed dont seem like they fit this story, I'd love to use them as a ballpark for coming up with our own achievements to track.
