Anyone else have a character background involving living/working in Sandpoint?

My character has only been in Sandpoint for 2 days, He just arrived and just arrived and is sitting at a bar.

Looks good to me, very concise.

The only thing I'd recommend is siting sources for all your math. It's usually easy to figure out where all your various numbers come from at 1st level, but by 5th or so it's a headache to math-check. It helps everyone a lot to be able to see your math in long form next to the total.

I'm curious about some things though-

You're a deaf oracle of Calistra who babbles in Infernal when he's stressed.
You have the Life mystery and a focus on healing people.
Your name is "Deathcraft".

None of these things seem like they go along with each other. Is that purposeful somehow? (I'm not ragging on your character at all. I think it's a neat concept. It just begs a lot of questions. Particularly the name.)

In my local shop games I found a calling for the oracle of life and tried to make a character / background around life and death. From the looks of it I got it partly.

The name is something I created a long time ago, it is bits of names from two shows I loved. It is however, coincidence that the name fit for this character. Sort version is healers are craftsmen / women of death and life. So Deathcraft, death to those against us and life to those on our side.

Question how should we handle communication?

Being Deaf would normally mean I and at lest one other would have to know sign language (this isn't covered in the oracle class) / (or me have lip reading?) so I could reply to questions and requests. Thoughts?

This is one of those times that having a psudodragon would be handy. They're telepathic.

Maybe I can start with the eggs, not quite ready to hatch but mentally all there, and they could relay info. It would mean a slight delay and maybe the occasional translation error, but it would be a lot better than bumbling through amateur sign language in text.

Psudodragons are about the size of a large cat, so their eggs would probably be about the size of goose eggs, and about the size of small kittens when first hatched.

GM, if you're concerned about anything combat related with them, I wasn't planning on using them that way. I could also add the Young template to them (or have them as eggs for a while)

Forgot about templates. Alright here is the deal. They have the young template for the near future (untill i say they lose it), but you can have them now. Or, i'll give the two of you (Spectrum and Gene) Sign language as a bonus language for free

Tekk has been in town for a week or so, but he has actively been asking around for work for two days. He has been staying at The Rusty Dragon, and can be found there in the common room when not wandering Sandpoint or practicing his combat forms.

@ DM:
How detailed do we need our equipment to be for this AP? Do we need to purchase rations, two waterskins, etc, or just items we would use in combat and skill situations? Not a problem if that's what you want, just asking before I finish Tekk's sheet.

You could also carry a small pad and pencil to write notes.

Tekkis, no need for the whole list of anything you might need, just combat/skill/quest gear. I go by the living tax every month, 4 gp of taxes are paid to the city of sandpoint

If it's all the same I could swap out Deaf for Clouded Vision.
The essence of my character wouldn't change except, I would be blind past 30 ft (but gain dark vision.) For combat tongues curse (Celestial) Spectrum already knows that language so no issue there.

The other solutions work as well.

Would you mind doing that if it doesnt change your character concept too much?

Spectrum, you now recieve your two pseudodragons, both with the young template for 100 gp, but ill subtract it from your split of the loot as we go on

Works for me. Don't worry about the loot split. I'll just pay the money out of my starting cash. Buying them is the reason I took the Rich Parents trait.

Anyone have a history in Sandpoint? Spectrum's been there for 20 years, so I was thinking that if anyone else had history there, we should work out how well we know each other.

I have been there for about a year performing in the local taverns and playhouse. I was recently in a production at the playhouse that received some notoriety.

He lives at the Rusty Dragon Inn. The proprietor, Mariko, would be the one who hired you to play. Spectrum is practically Vulcan in his mannerisms, so 'charming' doesn't quite describe him, but he does enjoy good music.

well for me it should be rather easy. Ceinwynn could have played music a few times at the temple, Tekkis and Spectrum probably got information on behalf of the Calistria temple. Or if you ever got hurt and needed healing you may have gotten healed by me.

Ceinwynn has indeed played in the temple. Though she worships Cayden Cailean, she frequents the temple quite often and has actually been actively recruited by the sisters because of her flirtatious nature and charm.

I thought Sandpoint was kind of a smaller place. Is the temple to Calistra there, or is it somewhere nearby?

Spectrum does archeology work, kind of like a curator at a museum restoring and researching things that people bring him. Once he figures out what he's got, if it's not what he's looking for he puts the word out for potential buyers. It could be that a relic or two of interest to the temple were discovered and Gene was the go-between to buy them, and maybe Ceinwynn is sometimes one of his "sales reps" (for a commission of course).

Ceinwynn would love the opportunity to be commissioned as a sales rep. Charming through her performances and flirting with some of Calisria's priestesses are definitely not beneath her.
