Don't feel useless, Simon - your air elementals provided a much needed flank for Asha. The shenzuzhou had an AC of 31, so every bonus was needed.

Yeah, let me second this, and maybe third and fourth it too. I think the flank bonus turned at least two misses into hits, which means that 2nd level spell was worth about 40 damage to the shenzuzhou. That's a huge difference.

(And one of those was the hit that I got thanks to Poog's fortune hex, so you both had a hand in the last strike!)

Yeah. I just wish Haste still gave an extra standard action. Then I could really do some work.

Still the Split Hex with Fortune basically means in three rounds I can let everyone else have one reroll every round for the length of the fight. That's not bad. It's fun getting to play higher-level characters once in a while, especially with a class I'm not used to using.

Actually, for that matter, Asha's first hit - the AoO that disrupted the darkness spell - only hit becasue of haste. It was definitely a team effort everywhere.

Modesty aside, that was one heck of a beat down you delivered Asha, a 31 AC is tough and you still dished the damage big time.

Not sure what my posting status will be for the next week or so. I was originally supposed to go on vacation to D.C. Monday through Wednesday, which might have limited my posting (though I'd probably still be able to check in at least once a day). Now that trip is up in the air thanks to Stormageddon: The Rainening.

Anyway, if I'm home I may have lots of free time to post. Unless I lose power, in which case I won't be posting at all.

So, to sum up, I'll either be posting a lot, the normal amount or not at all in the next few days.

Asha has the gist of it - life gets really crazy about this time of year. I was going to update on Wednesday, but the site had other ideas. I'm planning on updating this (and every other game I'm in) today, though.

Yeah, I admit placing the life stealing ability on a weapon with an 18-20 crit range, and then putting it in the hands of someone who doubles that threat range is, to put it mildly, cheese weaselly. I'm going to fall back on the defense of "don't blame me, blame Tim Hitchcock!"

Yeah, Asha's repulsed by the fact that it used negative energy strongly enough to actually give negative levels, whereas I am disgusted by the mechanics of switching it from a longsword to a kukri... ;)

We should probably have one of the arcanists check to confirm that the flail is magical and try to determine what it might be before we figure out who to give it to. Frankly, none of us is a particularly good fit - Poog and Simon aren't proficient with it, Asha and Zak are pretty much tied to their weapons of choice and Zarina prefers her claws. Asha wouldn't want it under any circumstances, really, but Zak could maybe use it as a melee backup or Zarina could decide to switch from her claws after all...? Or, I suppose, we could just sell it and divide the profits.
