Rocco Hardweather |
Rocco goes to the tavern and offers his services as an extra bartender. "Seems like you might need the extra help around the place. Word is you've been asleep on the job lately. What's the deal, Clenchjaw?"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
Profession (bartender) to offer services: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Hearing word of the strange whispers and so on, Rocco's mind immediately goes back to the mischievous little devil they had dealt with the previous week. When he has a moment alone with the others, he conveys his suspicions. "You guys think it might be another devil like that one back at our place? The thing was whispering instructions to our guy. Maybe the same thing is happening here."

"I think all of us turning up to the tavern together would be suspicious. Is there another near-by site we could wait inconspicuously?" she asks.
DM Elan Morin |
With their own investigations Talon Morricone and Rocco learn the same information Lirotha did.
Oren suggests to stay inside the tavern until something out of the ordinary happens while Valrani thinks it's better to split between those who control things from the inside and those guarding the outside of the tavern.
Rocco tries to get himself hired but seems like Clenchjaw isn't impressed with his abilities:"Sorry no can do mate. I don't have the time to train you properly right now. Come back in a few weeks, maybe?" he tells Rocco.
So, what do you want to do? All those staying inside the tavern please roll perception DC25 and tell how many hours you plan to spend there staring from 5.00 pm, also tell me what you want to do
Lirotha Karsani |
5pm til close. I will practice my Harrow in a dim corner if allowed. Present myself as the 'Mysterious' Lirotha! Keeping an eye out for other 'mysterious things.'

Talon will leave after the meeting and returns later as The Hound and waits silently in the shadows of a rooftop across the street until an hour before dawn.
Oren Mitabu |
Oren plans on following the plan Lirotha has laid out, 5 pm to closing time.
Perception 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
DM Elan Morin |
Is thsi all of you who want to enter the tavern or just those who were able to connect to the site, given how badly it behaves? Anyway we'll give this a few more hours, perception is important here
DM Elan Morin |
Closing time is 8.30 pm, 1 hour before curfew
!!!
Inside the pub the day proceeds without anything of note happening, that you notice at least. Things start to change after 5.00 p.m.
Clenchjaw suddenly starts to get sleepy and retires to his office. After a while and without much of a warning people start yelling at each other and suddenly a brawl breaks out, apparently without explanation!
Those inside the pub need to tell me what they want to do. There's 5 patrons fighting among themselves, punching and wrestling each other. Do you want to take part or try to stop the brawl?

Rocco Hardweather |
After his failed interview with Clenchjaw, Rocco hung around the tavern, telling the owner jokingly that if he couldn't serve the drinks, at least he could drink them. After an hour or two, he excused himself to the facilities, but rather than using them for their intended purpose, he spent a minute manifesting Kurglunn. He still had a spare set of clothes and an extra cloak with a large hood for when he wanted the phantom by his side without raising an ruckus, and he gave these to Kurglunn so that they could continue their watch with the others.
When the fight breaks out, Rocco sends Kurglunn forward, telling him, "Hey. Go see if a little fear will get em to settle down." With a nod, the phantom rises from his seat and steps toward the brawl. He comes within a couple yards and lowers his hood, revealing his ghastly visage, and gives an ear-curdling scream.
Kurglunn Intimidate: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
DM Elan Morin |
Morricone tries to stop the brawl with his honeied tongue. As a testament to his skill the enraged patrons actually stop their fighting for a moment, yet it doesn't last long as Kurglunn shows itself Causing one of the patrons to scream in terror. The others react badly and forgetting their previous quarrel join forces charging at Kurglunn!

Ooops! Sorry guys! Looks like I messed up Morri's good work.
Rocco steps up beside Morricone, his arms raised in a sign of non-aggression. "Gentlemen," he calls out, "Pardon my gruesome friend here. His bark is bad, but his bite can be worse. Now we've got your attention, though, why don't we all settle down before someone really gets hurt?" Suddenly, he thrusts one of his hands forward and sends a tankard full of ale flying off of the bar toward one of the men (yellow).

I'm not sure you can use that spell keeping the damage non lethal but with that roll you couldn't hit anyway
Responding to her aggression most of the drunk patrons pile up on Oren while one of them engages Kurglunn.

Despite their inebriated state the drunk patrons realize they are outmatched and that the strange thing screaming incoherently at them is not pulling its punches, literally so. This is enough to force them to surrender and abandon the tavern in a rush.
Well done! Now they know not to mess with the Silver Ravens! Unfortunately this also means they'll be spreading the word around casting you as violent thugs perfectly willing to maim and savage good people just looking for a bit of fun... This means the rebellion gains +1 to its notoriety score.
After the angry drunks leave the tavern things seem to calm down, at least for the moment.
Before the second hour starts do you want to do something in particular? And everyone roll perception please
Lirotha Karsani |
Lirotha continues as before...heading to wake up the innkeeper!
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23
Oren Mitabu |
Perception 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Oren finds a comfortable spot and begins scanning the room again, sipping from her drink.

Valrani returns from behind the bar, orders a drink and takes a quiet spot at the side of the room.
"That was certainly odd... almost preplanned." she notes.

The Hound watches some of the patrons leave and keeps watch at the windows from his perch on the nearby rooftop.
"The Ravens have things under control for the moment, but the night is not over yet." He says to himself.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
DM Elan Morin |
Lirotha finds Clenchjaw collapsed on a sofa, sondly sleeping. She wakes him up. He looks at her groggily before asking:"Uh? What time is it? Did I fall asleep again?"
In the meantime the other Ravens check out the main hall. Things go back to normal pretty quickly after the brawl. No one notices anything out of the ordinary but for Morricone whose keen eyes notice a strange shadow moving between the roof's beams and support posts. To him it looks like some sort of winged lizard. Only it's more akin to a small dragon and its wings resemble those of a batterfly!
As the bard points the other ravens at the creature it gives a very human sounding yelp and suddenly vanishes out of thin air!
Rocco Hardweather |
Rocco and Kurglunn both follow Lirotha into the back to check in on the barkeep.
Perception Rocco: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Percepton Kurglunn: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
Lirotha Karsani |
After waking up the barkeep, Lirotha acts as if she's about the chide the man for falling asleep while his patrons attacked each other...until she hears Valrani's exclamation!
"What...Dragon? Did you say DRAGON?"
Rocco Hardweather |
Rocco and Kurglunn, still only halfway through the door into Clenchjaw's back room, quickly turn back around. "Wait, how can there be a dragon in here? Dragons are gigantic aren't they?" Rocco's gaze follows Valrani's up toward the rafters, and he squints his eyes, trying to catch sight of whatever it is she saw. "I don't see it. Where is it?"
DM Elan Morin |
No matter how much you try to entice the dragon to come out it either stays silent and invisible or fled the tavern all together. With Clenchjaw awake again and with no further meddling from the dragon the rest of the evening goes smoothly as no one else dreams about starting another brawl.
At 9.00 p.m you leave the tavern, knowing full well curfew starts in about half an hour. Just a few minutes have passed since you left Clenchjaw's when you hear an high-pitched voice calling you from a dark alley.
You cautiously enter it and notice a shape perched on a balcony 10 feet above street level. The creature is no bigger than a cat, complete with shiny yellow eyes. Yet this creature is no cat. Its body is covered with bluish scales while it sports butterfly wings bearing a deep shade of orange.
"Hello there, interesting humans, and halflings and... mmmmh interesting looking creature I can't really place. My name is Vendalfek. Pleased to meet you!"
Now you can roll diplomacy
_Valrani |
"Hello there Vendalfek!" smiles Valrani.
"Were you there in the pub this evening?"
diplomacy (aid): 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (3) + 0 = 3
"We were trying to work out what actually happened there and why fights have been breaking out."
Her intimidating size however maybe isn't the most reassuring of things for a dark alley.
Oren Mitabu |
Aid another diplomacy 1d20 ⇒ 11
"Hello, Vendalfek, mighty dragon. As my friend asked, were you in the pub earlier? We are trying to quiet problems that have been happening there."
Lirotha Karsani |
Knowledge(Arcana): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
"Wow...I've heard of your kind...you are a pretty little thing aren't you! Amazing!"
Diplomacy-Aid Another): 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (18) + 0 = 18
Rocco Hardweather |
Rocco notices the others making nice with the weird lizard and decides he better let them do the talking, especially after the debacle he caused at the tavern. He stands by silently and gives Kurglunn a look to tell the phantom to lay low.
Kurglunn the Runner |
Kurglunn totally misses Rocco's look, throws back the hood on his cloak, and gives the strange being a big goofy wave. "Hi, pretty lizard! I like your wings!"
Diplomacy aid Morricone: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22 BAHAHAHA! Perfect timing! +2 more to your check Morricone.
DM Elan Morin |
Vendalfek casts a dubious gaze at Valrani but Morricone's words and your warm welcome reassure him. He also seems to take a shine on Kurglunn:"Nice to meet you too! I like tour skin! A really nice shade of otherworldly green! I'm really impressed!"
He then adresses the rest of your group:"I'm so pleased to make your acquaintance! I don't think I've seen anyone even remotely as interesting as you are since the Thrashing Badger burned down and I had to move into my new home! Granted... the place is a bit boring and I have to work hard every evening to make things a bit more lively, but you are still remarkable! Perhaps you can visit more often? I'm sure we can have lots of fun together!"
The Hound Of Kintargo |
The Hound raises an eyebrow on the rooftop across the street as he thinks that it's gone suspiciously quiet in the tavern.
Lirotha Karsani |
Smiling broadly and bowing to the little dragon, Lirotha flatters the tiny creature.
"Of course Master Vendalfek! I know one of us would be willing to visit you every few days to keep your life more interesting...but you would need to do us a favor in return possibly? No more ruckus in the inn? Hurting others for personal entertainment my pretty Faerie Dragon, is a bit unseemly...and dangerous right now. What say you Master Dragon? Who knows, you might like us enough to come see what we do here in Kintargo..."
