Oren Mitabu |
Would someone put me just northeast of Kurglunn, please? Thanks.
Lirotha Karsani |
Got you Oren! Lirotha pursued the priestess closely! But hangs back now that she has aid!
Feeling weak from the cleric's evil energy attack, Lirotha Uses her Healing hex on herself for the day, and waits for her allies to approach before advancing!
Healing Hex: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
"We've got you cornered, just like the rat you are!"
The Hound Of Kintargo |
Oh right I missed reading that attack GM. Sorry about that. Fixed my HP and oh man it's a close one.
The Hound approached the weekend parole and sees their shackles. "Do not fear, you are safe now. Let's get you out of those shackles." He says trying to cover the weakness in his voice. Then starts going searching the fallen guards in the room for keys to the shackles. And maybe a healing potion of five. At the same time also retrieving his dagger from beside the one guard.
Seeing as it's still in combat rounds, I think it takes a full round to search a guard. So he'll start with the closest one first and then move on. With 2HP left I think this is the best he can do now instead of getting knocked down. In the first round. Note to self: get more healing potions.
Rocco Hardweather |
Rocco moves around the edge of the door and into the room where his companions are beginning to spread out to launch their final assault on the priestess and her lone guard. Without any further warning, Rocco raises his hands and casts a mind-numbing wave of spiritual energy to stun the remaining guard into stillness.
Cast Daze against blue. DC 14 Will save or he's dazed for 1 round.
Kurglunn the Runner |
Oh sorry to hold things up. Forgot we were doing the full round of actions for the team.
Kurglunn moves up and takes a defensive stance in front of Lirotha. "Kurglunn keep you safe, smelly witch! Make sure you stay behind Kurglunn."
Move, then standard to prepare an attack fighting defensively if anyone comes within striking distance, attack roll spoilered below. AC18 this round.
Kurglunn the Runner |
Don't forget that Kurglunn shares an empathic link with a certain sassy halfling... Haha!
DM Elan Morin |
Ok, some ground rules: The fallen pillars are obstacles, so they have an additional move cost of 2, require a DC15 acrobatics check to be passed and give partial cover to those standing behind them. The squares with rubble on it are difficult terrain, so they give additional cost of 2
The priestess starts mumbling some invocation to Asmodeus and herself and the air around her darkens for a moment infusing her with a strange aura...
But she's not cast anything yet
Will Save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
While her guard stands his ground with a determined grimace on his face as Rocco's spell doesn't seem to have any effect...
Meanwhile in the other room... "Please free us! Their leader, the priestess... She's killed everyone else! She took us in pairs and then no one came back! She took Lucca and Yelena hlaf an hour ago... and we are next!" shouts the chained man while his female companion adds:"The keys... the one holding them was the dottari with the black cape.... Morth... He should still have them..."

DM Elan Morin |
Who is up now, DM?
Edit above... Well nope, all things considered Sarletta doesn't get to cast a spell yet, she moved where she is now the turn before this, I'll re edit the post above again
The Hound Of Kintargo |
The Hound moves over to the guard with the black cape and searches him for keys and anything else on his person that might come in handy before heading back and unlocking the prisoners.
"What were they doing with you all?" he says as he works the keys into the locks.
Oren Mitabu |
Oren closes the distance, and with a double move threatens the opponent outlined in black.
Would someone please move me just north of the enemy in black? Much obliged.
Lirotha Karsani |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
I don't see an enemy in Black, but I moved you just North of the Priestess if that was what you meant! =) If she's casting a spell, you may get an AoO if she doesn't cast defensively!
_Valrani |
Valrani heads to the gap between the fallen pillars and smashes her staff into the man in front of her.
"You must stop these wicked and cruel actions. Change your ways."
attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
damage: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Oren Mitabu |
Perfect move, Lirotha. Exactly where I wanted to be. Thanks so much!
DM Elan Morin |
Added black outline on Sarletta
Oren closes in on the priestess while Morricone follows her closely and starts a mystical song of his own. Valani tries to smash the enemy once more but this time the expert guard manages to deflect her blow.
Guard is fighting defensively as a full round action
For a moment the priestess hesitates looking at her guard then she steps away from the incoming Oren and starts an incantation...
Her guard raises his weapon against Valrani instead...
Attack roll (blue vs Valrani): 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 - 4 = 16 -> Damage roll: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Hitting her hard on the head!
Meanwhile, in the other room, the Hound recovers 2 sets of keys from the body of the dottari in black and quickly moves back to the chained prisoners. One of the sets seems to fit the locks perfectly.
If anyone passes the perception check he could attempt a...
And if said person also passes the Knowledge check then he could attempt a...

Hmmm...hiding behind the rubble, huh? Fine! I can come around. Rocco's mind races with all the ways he wants to hurt this priestess and her goon as he hustles around the fallen pillars and other debris scattered around the room. As he moves, he twirls his kukri in his hand, reminding himself of its weight and balance so he can strike effectively when he finally reaches his target.
Double move
Lirotha Karsani |
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
Recognizing the spell, Lirotha will try and disrupt the casting! So she attempts to move for a clear shot on the woman!
"Stop your Devil-prayers hag! They won't save you!"
Deadly Dealer Card: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 4 + 1 = 16
Damage(Magic/Piercing): 1d4 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 1 = 5
Kurglunn the Runner |
While Rocco takes the long way around all the rubble to get to the priestess, Kurglunn takes the more direct route...through the pillar. His form seems to distort and warp as his legs phase through the solid stone pillars, but still he comes out on the other side, leaving a trail of ectoplasmic residue shimmering along the portion of the pillar where he had passed.
As he comes out on the other side of the pillar, he raises a long arm that might have been muscular in his mortal form, and brings it down on the final obstacle between him and the evil lady that had hurt his friend Rocco.
Slam, IC: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 3 + 1 = 15 Damage: 1d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 + 1 = 8
DM Elan Morin |
Lirotha shoots a magical card at the asmodean priestess but unfortunately it goes wide.
Rocco moves forward while Kurglunn shifts through the columns and attacks the guard but he easily avoids its ectoplasmic fists.
In the other room Talon notices the runic cravings on the prisoners foreheads but can't decypher their meaning.
Anything else you want to do Talon? You can still take an action

Conf: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 121d8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
"Ouch, this must leave a scar. A well you can´t get uglier!"
The Hound Of Kintargo |
The Hound unshackles the prisoners and points for them to move to the wall near the entrance and stay out of sight.
"Stay there and stay out of sight. We'll be back." Then runs over and gets twp crossbows and quivers from the fallen guards and gives it to the strangely marked people.
"Here, if anyone but us come for you, point and shoot. Everything's going to be okay."
He then takes up his pistol and starts moving to the doorway where he hears the sound of battle raging.
I think that's more than I should be able to do this round. Next round I'm gonna try sneak into the next room.
Oren Mitabu |
Oren moves 5' toward the enemies and swings her left right combination at the enemy wearing black garb.
Inspired Mutagen attack 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 6 + 1 = 25
Inspired Mutagen damage 1d6 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 6 + 1 = 12

DM Elan Morin |
The Hound frees the captives and gives them one of the dottari crossbows before moving towards the door to join his companions.
Morricone shows brilliant swordplay and inflicts the priestes a deep cut on her left thigh, she hisses in response.
Oren once again smashes down the enemy before her with a bone crunching punch to the jaw.

Well... all things considered and seeing how Valrani has been aggressive until now and how she would set up a flank with Morricone I think she would keep attacking, so for the shake of things moving...
As Oren downs the last guard Valrani smashes her staff into the priestess, somehow bypassing her mystical defenses. Blood drips from the woman's forehead and she gives you a look of pure hate as she speaks:"You can't stop my mistress... she will get your souls and I will get my reward... NOW DIE!"
Channel Energy: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 1) = 5
DC14 will save from all of you but Talon for half damage
The burst of dark energy sucks life out of the Silver Ravens. The priestess still stands but seems unsteady on her feet.

"Kurglunn, step up with me!" Rocco's small, but gruff voice rings through the mausoleum as he moves around the edge of the pillar and rushes toward the priestess, his wicked looking knife flashing menacingly in his hand.
Move 20ft, then prepare a standard for the attack below for when Kurglunn steps up into a flanking position.
Kukri, flank: 1d20 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 1 + 2 = 23 Damage: 1d3 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0 Minimum 1 damage, right?

Kurglunn the Runner |
Will save vs channel: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Kurglunn lumbers forward through the pulse of negative energy, both of his arms raised high and ready to bring down on the head of the priestess. "Bad lady stop hurting Kurglunn friends!!!"
Slam, flank: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 3 + 2 = 25 Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Slam, flank: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 3 + 2 = 22 Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6

Successful save so I take three damage.
Lirotha Karsani |
Will Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
So that's 11 damage total so far, I healed myself for 4 earlier that puts me at 7 out of 14hps left.
Pushing through her pain of the dark energy, Lirotha rushes around a pillar to try and hit the evil woman as fast as possible!
MW Starknife w/Arcane Strike: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Damage(Magic): 1d4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 + 1 = 5
"You're mistress can eat my undershorts!"
DM Elan Morin |
Despite her unholy resistance the Silver Ravens surround the asmodean priestess and rain attacks on her. In the end it's Kurglunn and Rocco who breach her defenses and cause her to fall. With her last breath she mutters:"You will pay..." before the light vanishes from her eyes.
Out of combat. Well done!
What do you do next? There's a door in front of you
Morricone 14/19hp

Rocco 7/15hp

Morricone |
Will: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Feeling the dark energy wash over him Morricone just endures but feels his life force diminish. But then Rocco and Kurglunn kill the priestess and the bard just puts his sword down and leans on it for a moment.
"WELL Done!"
Spitting out he weaves a quick incantation and checks the body for magical, and mundane valueables.
Seeing the magic on the armor and weapon he throws the mace to valrani and quickly undressed the scale mail to hand it to the other before finally drawing the wand to give it to Rocco.
And finally he quickly kicks her again for good measure.
Rocco Hardweather |
As the priestess falls, Rocco stumbles and flops onto his backside, a stunned but gleeful expression on his face. "I did it," he says quietly, as if to himself. "I stabbed her and she went DOWN! Yes! I'm the greatest! Kurglunn, you did good too. Oh and all the rest of you I guess. Man I can't believe I actually did it!" He hops back onto his feet, sheathes his knife, and paces back and forth excitedly.
After a few moments, his wounds catch up with him and he stops pacing long enough to settle down and take a look through the gear they found.
Appraise (Amulet): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Appraise (obsidians): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Appraise (bloodstone): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
He has no idea of the value of the priestess's precious gems, but knows they're at least worth keeping for later. In the meantime, he takes the chain shirt off of the Dottari and checks to see if he might be able to wear it, despite the guard's larger frame. How do you wanna treat different sized armor, GM? If you want, I can wait until we finish up in here and see about trading the gear out for something appropriately sized.
When Morricone hands him the wand, he looks it over and tries to discern what kind of magic it might possess.
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
Lirotha Karsani |
Stopping anybody from wandering off, Lirotha will hit everybody but herself and I think Valrani who already got her use, with her Healing Hex for the day!

_Valrani |
Valrani shudders in memory of the horrible feeling of fire that swept over here when the priestess called on her dark powers.
will: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
"I don't think I'll be much use in any more battles.." she sighs.
"That priestess all but sucked the life out of me."
Lirotha Karsani |
Moving up to Valrani, Lirotha casts her single Cure spell with a twinkle in her eye and a smile hidden behind he mask.
"Never doubt me lovely, that I don't have your back. However, you may want to start investing in better armor or maybe a ranged attack spell of some sort? Shall we continue Ravens?"
CLW: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
The Hound Of Kintargo |
The Hound walks into the room as the battle does down. "Well that put her down. She was...ugh... Rather formidable. There are two outside who were prisoners with Strange runes on their heads. Also if there's some healing going around I could use a dash." He grounds as he walks to the group.
Lirotha thankfully greets him with her healing hex to which he replies "Many thanks Lirotha. That was needed. I'm still not at full strength but I should be able to press on. Though I feel we can't leave these prisoners on their own here for too long.".
DM Elan Morin |
As soon as Talon left the first room to join the others the prisoners run out of the crypt. After a few moments you can hear the sound of a bell in the room they were help prisoners into, signaling they probably reached the exit and triggered the trap you left triggered at the entrance.
There's no one's left into the crypt but you and whatever is hiding behind the next door...
To recap: (1)you came here to save a certain Lucca Avalanti who you learned is being held somewhere else into the underground complex. (2)There's some kind of ritual going on and you probably need to stop it before it's too late. (3)You also didn't check the previous room for loot but time might be of the essence here. (4)You didn't check the next door yet. (5)As for the magical objects you found you need a DC20 Spellcraft check to identify the properties of all 3 items
@ Morricone: I need to ask you to update your character's profile showing your most significant stats under your name with every post you make. This will make my job faster. Thank you
