Sorry I hadn't posted yet. Stuck at work but I get off around 5 pm est so I should be able to post then. Again sorry about that and wow! Excellent openings!

So I've decided the Shoanti will have a variety of sayings following the form: Every <blank>, a <blank>. I find them fitting for a people of few words who abide by tradition. They probably have one that could apply to nearly any situation. Similar sayings also probably exist. The Varisia player's companion outlines one that follows (though I'm making up the rest about multiple of them):
Every stone, a totem. - The saying is a reminder that all the lad is holy and any natural object can be a source of spiritual power.
In the same vein, my saying:
Every step, a mile. - Taking a single step (metaphorically small life choices in this case) down a path, can have a much bigger impact on the destination (metaphorically a life of crime) then might otherwise be implied by the step.
If you have other good ones, I'd be happy to hear them. :)

Thanks for the good responses to opening posts. My favorite part of the campaign is the opening. I envision a long uncut running sequence in film where the camera just follows down the line, seeing various interactions, sometimes with the other player showing up...Anyway that's my weirdness.
Will get some responsive posts up ASAP. Sorry for the long gap between, but with my life, sometimes it can't be helped.

I really like the intros DoctorEvil! I'll try and have a post up sometime today. Currently at work but I'll do what I can to post.

Sorry if I haven't posted yet. Watching the meteor shower. I'll try posting in the morning after I wake up. Sorry about that y'all.
Alesta |
That's true now. I just finished watching it a few moments ago. Got to see two or three earth gazer meteors (the colorful ones). So I'm heading off to bed now! It was a cool experience getting to see the meteor shower.

Agreeing with the great start sentiments!
@GM Doctor Evil: how is magic perceived in this part of the world? Specifically witches?
Magic is what it is to most people in Sandpoint. A bit arcane and the stuff of wizards Not frowned upon, but not the stuff of polite society either. There is a magic shop in town, and several magic users hold positions of authority.
The AP was written before witches were an option. I'd say that the Varisian people have witches in their communities (like gypsies of today) so not unfamiliar, but also not something that shines in the light of the open.
Does that help?

You may not believe it, but my master plan is working out just as expected...MWAHHHAAAHHAAA.
Eventually, I want all of you to get to the Rusty Dragon before nightfall, so as you get there, you may be on hold for a bit until the others arrive depending on how fast/slow I move each group. If I steer you that way, help a fella out and take the hint.
I know my posting is slow, not much I can do about it, but hopefully the quality makes up for the quantity and you are enjoying the (admittedly slow) ride.
Eventually, we will get to the more "well-known" parts of the story, and you can get your goblin-killer on.

Just double checking to make sure the dots are showing up for DM DocEvil. :)

I'm hope he's okay. Any word from him?
Javell DeLeon |
He's still around. He's been posting in his other games yesterday and the day before.
Daaaaang. Didn't realize he's running 4 of these games. Four Runelord games that is. He's running a good deal others.
Man I don't see how he keeps up with it all. While I've always wanted to run a game on these boards, I don't believe I've got the ability to keep up with a mere ONE. And that's including if I actually had the time to run it. :P
Alesta |
Yikes! Well, I'm taking part in a few campaigns myself, but I'm not running any of them. But yeah, that is very impressive to be able to run that many campaigns at once.
Alesta |
Welcome back. I hope things get better for you.

I go to sleep to nothing posted here, then wake up with 8 posts waiting for me. Crazy. :P

Expectations are funny things. Like houses made of cards; you build them based on what you believe will hold and remain steady...but despite all you believe and hope will hold true, sometimes these cards will fall apart, but it isn't always a bad thing when the fragile walls of expectation come tumbling down.
Very nice!

Agree. That exposition sounds like it could've been written by your friendly neighborhood Dr Evil. Well done.

Sorry Ahdak I meant to reply to your inquiry but it slipped my mind.
So far I find the character's speech to be interesting and fitting from my understanding of him. I also find that your use of made up sayings/quotes in Ahdak's lines further compliments the character.
Agree with this also. His discomfort with social traditions like shaking hands and the nature-based homilies make me smile. Good roleplaying for sure!

1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Moving towards winding down this day before the Swallowtail Festival. Tomorrow will the fair with lots of games to play and more NPC interactions.
If you have things you want to ask your NPC group or each other, or any side quests in Sandpoint you want to track down please LMK. Otherwise, I will drop the curtain on the day fairly soon.

I want to see if Alesta can start up a conversation with Ameiko before the day ends. Maybe the Tian woman can get help from the aasimar...Just a thought. ;3

Hello y'all! I want apologize for not posting as much as I used to do. Work has been very busy but I had planned to play a lot of catch up today since it was my day off. However, this morning my mom called me this morning around 8:30 am to let me know that our dog Deedee was bitten by a snake last night (I live separately from my parents in my own house but we had Deedee before I moved out). She called me about an hour or so ago to let me know that the vet thinks Deedee will make it but she'll be swollen up a good bit for a while. The snake bit her on her upper lip. But she seems to be doing okay from what my mom said. Deedee is on a great deal of medicines to help the swelling and all. We have to take her back this Friday so the vet can check her again just to be safe.
So I'm emotionally drained a bit so I apologize. I'll try and post sometime tonight hopefully. Again I just wanted to let everyone know. Thank y'all for understanding.
Alesta |
Thank you for the words of kindness. I greatly appreciate it.

Thank you. I appreciate your understanding and words of kindness. It means a lot to hear that.

I am afraid the lovely Tien bard has other pressing business to attend to this evening, and won't be returning to the common room. There should be other opportunities for Alesta to speak with her.
Alesta |
Works fine with me.
And a little update on my dog: she's doing much better. A bit swollen but doing okay.
Ahdak Speaks-with-Stars |
Just realized I forgot to clarify in my post what I'm taking with me. My hide armor makes up a substantial part of Ahdak's clothing, so that's on. He's leaving his bag behind, but he'll keep his component pouch and a dagger with him (general prudence in keeping with a Shoanti).
Ahdak Speaks-with-Stars |
Just an FYI, I will be travelling this weekend as well. My ability to post will be spotty and somewhat limited.
Alesta |
Is everyone cool with me using French whenever my character speaks Celestial?
