With one sprite successfully scared away, Meditrina calls on Sarenrae again as she fires off a second flaming bolt at Purple Sprite, before 5 footing (to E8), ready to enter melee next round.

Fire Bolt Touch Attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16

I could be wrong, but I don't think these things can actually flank unless they have reach...

Decorated Trees - Round 3 - concluded

Lars continues his hacking and slashing, but this time only strikes empty air, as the winged fey ducks around his blade.

Firing another bolt of holy fire from Sarenrae, Meditrina moves towards where Lars stands surrounded. The bolt of fire misses hitting Purple fey, but the sprite does cry out in alarm as the flames come close to singeing her cold-touched skin.

Like her sister, Purple fey is deathly afraid of fire attacks and takes a withdrawl action to back away from the heroes head to the east.

Sensing her allies abandoning her, Green Fey drives her sword against Lars one more time, before hovering backwards from the engagement.

The parting shot stings Lars for 1 more hp, and then the Fort DC 11 save vs numbing cold, please.

Decorated Trees - Round 4

25 Talon (unconscious for 3 rounds)
20 Meditrina
12 Lars (possibly staggered)
11 Agatha (unconscious for 3 rounds)
9 Pym - Green
7 Andras (unconscious for 3 rounds)
7 Trawets (unconscious for 3 rounds)

While the rest of the party lies unconscious in the cold snow, Lars and Meditrina fight grimly for their lives against a host (now diminshed) of winged fey creatures.

The cleric's fiery attacks scared a few of the attackers off but one still remains and one more has fallen.

Both members of the active party go now. Then the last fey will have a turn.

The annoying stabs of these fey were starting to really annoy Lars, but he reigned these feelings in and focused on the lone opponent they had left. Edging forward with his shield raised to pressure his smaller opponent, Lars swiped the flat of his blade against the snow causing a small wave of the white blanket to rise up angrily against the fey. With his opponent distracted the ex-pirate let loose a horizontal slash, the cold iron of his blade hungering to taste flesh.

Another fire bolt from Meditrina flies wide of the last target, but Lars is true again with his cold iron blade and strikes down the last of the fey creatures.

With the other two fleeing, the battlefield is yours. As Meditrina and Lars look around at the unconsicous party, they only have to wait a bit before the rest of the group starts coming to.

Soon, all are back to normal, a few wounded more in pride than in body.

Picking themselves (literally for a few) up out of the snow, the party trudges on in search of the missing Lady of Taldor. The tracks from the bandit raiders are still apparent even in the constantly falling snow, and the group has no trouble finding the path.

As you wander the trail through the woods, the going is slow and time ticks by, ending the second hour since you left the massacre site.

Time for another set of cold checks. Since you had a fire since the last one, it is DC 15 Fort save or take 1d6 non-lethal damage. If you have Endure Elements or the like, you do not have to roll the save. Good Luck!

Starting to feel the bite of cold under his coat now, Lars pulled his clothes on a little tighter "Lets search the bodies" Said Lars, his breath visible in front of his face, before beginning he began scanning the equipment of their fallen foes.

"I'm impressed" Lars looked towards Meditrina "Fight like that would have had most people running, yet you kept flinging fire around" Which seemed to really scare the tiny bastards A half smile appeared on his face, as he did his best to hide how much the cold was affecting him.

"You were pretty good yourself with that sword...I seemed to miss more than I could hit, but I guess there is always room for improvement somewhere right?"

Idly, Meditrina wonders if the locals would object to her using a nearby tree as target practise, once this was all over.

"Anyone would be hard pressed to aim in this weather, especially when your target is..." He motions at one of the tiny bodies "Doubt I could have landed my blows if I wasn't close" He continues as moves across the snow to examine another of the fallen fey.

With the cold weather starting to wear you down, Trawets employs magical means to keep warm. For now the rest are enduring the cold tolerably well, except Lars, who is shivering and miserable.

Lars NL cold: 1d6 ⇒ 6

A search of the tiny fallen fey bodies reveals a tiny shortsword and shortbow with numerous tiny arrows. Additionally, one of the fey has a small gold nugget worth about 30gp.

Moving on, you come across a place in the path where a narrow game trail cross the bandit's route. Hoofprints go in all directions around the place, the freshest leading up the game trail.

Survival DC 10:
These are not horse hoofs, but the cloven hoof of deer or it's larger kin.

Perception DC 20:
Ahead down the game trail, blending in the with the snow, you see the elegant form of a massive white stag watching you. It's rack of antlers is impressive. The stag seems to be slowly coming down the path toward you.

The map link will take you to updated map showing the game trail branching off to the right. YOu will have to imagine the snow which covers all areas, still making all squares difficult terrain.

Lars shook almost uncontrollably as they continued on the trail, he hadn't left until he was sure they pocketed everything that was of worth. As he walked he occasionally stared at the gold nugget they found and it made him laugh mentally at how it took his mind of the cold for a few moments...before it returned worse than ever.
