Male Half-Elf Paladin 3

I should be available most of the time. It seems I'm never far from a computer.

I'm not going anywhere, so I'll be available.

Male Human Court bard 1

I'll be avab thursday afternoon to 630, after thath, prob not till monday, I'll update my skill points >< I've never played a bard, didn;t know they where that specific.

Male Human Court bard 1

lol, well done on the Joke!

looking at my Character, I seem to have goofed up a bit, I'm focusing on Ranged combat, but the bardic performance requires me to be up close to the enemys. Would it be possible to Change a few things?

point-blank shot ---> Arcane Strike

Masterwork bow ---> Standard bow

Standard sword ---> Mwk Sword?

let me know, thanks.

That's fine. Don't forget to put a point in Perform: Comedy, since that seems to be the theme of the court bard.

Guys, I'm afraid I'm going to have to drop out of this. I'm still having trouble finding time to prepare and post.

If you all want to find another GM to take over, you have my blessing, and I'll share my notes on anything I've changed, if they need it.

I have posted on the Gamers Connection for a new GM.

Link

Male Half-Elf Paladin 3

Cool. Thanks. I'm willing to continue if we can find a GM.

Male Human Cool Dude 20

Hey dudes. I posted in the Gamer Connection thread and am thinking I could probably pick up GMing your game pretty easily. As I mentioned I have some experience with Rise of the Runelords as I'm currently in the process of running it for a in-person game (currently on the 4th book with that group).

For some background on me, I've been playing D&D since early 3rd edition and DMing a good portion of that time and have been in on Pathfinder from the ground floor. Despite that experience I am still quite new to PbP games and really just started getting into them last month, but I'm currently playing in one game and just started up GMing another so I'm definitely diving in head first. I work as a loan officer at a local credit union and am frequently available to post during the day and am generally able to find time during the evenings and weekends as well.

If you'd like to check out my style before confirming me as your new GM, here are the links to the threads I'm participating in right now:

My Savage Tide Game (as DM)

SdF's Crypt of the Everflame Game (Playing as Helios)

From looking over the thread so far it looks like there are a few things I could use notes on and if everyone wanted to give me a quick run down of their characters and what's going on with them that would probably be helpful. Having run this game before, I'm really glad you're past the opening fight as that thing is a pain to draw a battle map for :P

Rullis was a local fisherman in Sandpoint, but turned towards a religious following after numerous family loss. His full background is available on his character sheet in his profile.

He is a cleric of Gozreh with the domains of Air and Weather. He is more of a ranged combative cleric than a sit-back and heal everyone, though he will do that when necessary. He's already been knocked down by a charging goblin. Lack of spells and healing specialty at 1st level inhibits the healing to just 2 CLW and 3 Channels per day. Rullis likes to call upon lightning and other weather related phenomenon.

This is my first PbP as a player, but I'm running a Legacy of Fire PbP that is well into the second book (5th level PCs).

Male Human Cool Dude 20

Sounds good. As soon as everyone posts approving my taking over I can start posting in the game thread.

Male Human Cool Dude 20

Also I may as well get out of the way that I'm probably going to run combat a little differently than it was run that last battle. I believe how I'll probably do it is to roll initiative for all of you and then post the init order asking for your actions in that combat round. Once everyone posts their actions, I'll go ahead and make a post running down what happened that round and forming it into a cohesive narrative. If any actions don't make sense after the result of another action takes place (attacking a dead foe, etc), I'll either post for clarification from that player or do whatever seems the most logical (attack the guy next to him, etc).

Male Half-Elf Paladin 3

Kerrec's a Paladin of Abadar who has been roaming Varisia as a justicar the past year after being trained at The Bank of Abadar in Kaer Maga. Diplomacy before dismemberment is his motto and was looking to be of service in Sandpoint when he arrived the day of the festival. He'd rather fight from range with his crossbow if he has to fight at all and has taken great pains to hone his mind against outside influences.

Thanks for offering to pick this up. Hopefully the others will see this thread.

Male Half Orc Barbarian 3 / Oracle 1, Perception +5, Darkvision, Fort +6/ Ref +1/ Will +2, Init +4, AC 18, HP :47

Born to a local Shoanti tribe, Kithian was exiled from the tribe after his coming of age vision quest lead to a confrontation between himself and the tribe shaman.

He has come to Sandpoint to visit the big city and to live a little longer.
Will be going for rage prophet.

Male Human (Ulfen) Wizard (Enhancer) 4

Vidar is an Ulfen, born in the land of the Linnorm kings, but having spent most of his life as an orphan in the streets of Riddleport.
He was taken in by a pathefinder travelling through Riddleport and given an education; he was also infected with a love of the wild, so to the point that any time not spent studying magic (which he had a knack for) was spend hunting and travelling.

He has come to Sandpoint because he seeks to become a true pathfinder as his mentor, and he has decided to examine the "old light" in Sandpoint since it is said to be of Thassalonian origin, something that he is interested in and might serve to prove his worth to the society.

Vidar is going to become a Lore master, he is a bit cold and professional with people due to the pain of his upbringing, but he still possesses a good heart.
Aside from his passion for lore and magic, his love for nature and the outdoors probably define him best.

Oh yes, and he possess a familiar, a Raven named Enok which has a certain love for alcohol.

All sounds good so far. I've got my first post written up and 4/5 approval is good enough for me so I'm going to go ahead and post it up so we can get things moving again.

From now on I'll probably be posting under this alias as well and may put some campaign specific things in this profile. See you all in the game thread!

Do you happen to know which Shoanti tribe you are from? The Shriikirri-Quah tribe are desrcribed in the Player's Guide as the most likely to interact with outsiders and there are also six other tribes that are described as being more warlike and aloof (Lyrune-Quah, Shadde-Quah, Shundar-Quah, Sklar-Quah, Skoan-Quah, Tamiir-Quah)

The main reason I ask is that there are a few Shriikirri-Quah Shoanti in town if you wanted to have any connections there.

Sorry to butt in like this, but I just wanted to say that Im glad you guys found a new DM. I was enjoying reading through this thread, and even listed it so I could keep track of how it played through easier, and was sad to see it sitting idle.

Im actually playing in another PbP game for CotCT with Noone as a player, and we are stalling out, too. Not his fault though, lol.

Game on!

Thanks for the support! It looks like Noone was doing a great job before so I'm hoping I can keep the ball rolling :)

Male Human Cool Dude 20

I'm a little worried that Camilo hasn't posted at all since I took over so I'm going to pause things at the Rusty Dragon to give him a chance to realize we're moving again.

If Rullis wants to do anything to prepare for the funeral or Vidar and Kithian want to have any more going on at the White Deer I can keep posting responses to those things though.

Just glancing through Camilo's other profiles, it doesn't appear he has posted anywhere since Dec 31st.

Male Human (Ulfen) Wizard (Enhancer) 4

No, after breakfast, Vidar will head out to the wilderness, scouting out the land as it were, and then he will spend all afternoon in front of Old light, studying. So I'll be good to wait or continue when the time comes.

I noticed that too. He could be away on vacation this week or something. I hope he's able to continue. He has a really good hook into the campaign.

Male Human Cool Dude 20

Indeed. I also noticed that status of the other profiles, but it looks like in one game that he is GMing he mentioned was going to be back this past Monday... I figure we can give him a little time though as I agree that his hook is pretty great and I'd like to keep him around. Plus I'm really looking forward to seeing how he and Foxglove's interactions work out :)

Thanks for taking over, Kacy. It's looking very entertaining! I'm looking forward to watching the campaign develop.

No problemo. Thanks for getting everything moving in the first place! :)

Male Human Cool Dude 20

What sort of time frame do you guys think we should look at for waiting for Camilo? As I'm new here I'd rather leave that decision up to the rest of the party, but can make a decision if necessary.

Perhaps we move the story along with him in the background for a little while until we see evidence of him posting on the site again and then get in touch with him to see if he's interested.

Just looked at the game he is DM'ing. His players are wondering if their game is dead since he hasn't posted in over a week. He said he was going to be gone for the weekend and would be back on Monday (Jan 3rd). Hopefully nothing bad happened.

Generally for missing players in the game I'm running, I just NPC their actions as best as I can based on how they were playing their character. I don't know the details of the strange relation between Camilo and the others, so I don't know how easy that would be to do.

Sounds fair enough. Let's go ahead and pick things up then. If Camilo returns he can always hop in and post the specifics of what his character was doing while he was being NPCed.

See you dudes in the game thread. Kerrec & Kithian, let me know if you're attending the funeral or not. I'll leave it open as we move along, but if you want to chime in that you're there, feel free.

Just a note to Kacy: When this campaign was run under noone, there was only posting on weekdays. I believe noone was only available to post during the day on these days. While I am generally online during the weekends as well, I don't know if others are checking the game then as well.

Male Human Cool Dude 20

My weekends are generally pretty busy too so I'll mostly reserve weekend posts for less-eventful happenings or things that can be easily picked up on Monday.

Male Half-Elf Paladin 3

I was away this weekend but back online now. I think it's a good idea to NPC Camilo.

Male Human Cool Dude 20

I'm starting to worry we may not see the return of Camilo. What would you guys say to hunting for a replacement?

Male Human (Ulfen) Wizard (Enhancer) 4

We could give him one more week, but I'm not oposed to the idea as such.

Male Human Cool Dude 20

Another week sounds fair.

[lurking]I was interested in participating in this originally, but Noone thought I knew the adventure too well for his taste. I would still be willing to join in -- I can create a replacement Camilo, if desired, to maintain the current hooks and discussions.[/lurking]

And if you want to avoid someone who's seen the adventure, that's OK, too.

Someone having seen the adventure already isn't too big of a deal to me as I know I still enjoy playing in games where I know things about the adventure already. How much knowledge of things to come do you have?

Quite a bit of the first several encounters in the first adventure, not much after that. I can keep the information out of the character's head, though.

Aw that's not too bad. Well if you wanted to create a Camilo clone and run him true to character for now that would be fine by me and save me the trouble of running him myself ;)

If the real Camilo does show himself within a week's time and is still wanting to play I'll have to ask you to step down, but who knows maybe a fifth adventurer will show up around then and want to join the party :)

Just glanced over at the game Camilo's is.. er, was dm'ing. His players are still actively roll playing without a DM. :)

Kacy wrote:

That would actually be the sixth as we have five with Camilo already.

It would be my pleasure. Hopefully, I'll have time to clone him over the weekend. Thanks for the opportunity - one of my other games just wrapped up and another is on a one-week hiatus. Perfect timing!

Adding is hard work it turns out. Either way it'll be fine. :)

Well, here's my Camilo Duin. Meet Camillo Duin. I just copied the original profile over so far. I'm going to rearrange information so I know where to look for stuff.

I do not see Camillo's ability scores in his profile, so I will have to reverse engineer them. That's probably going to take the longest, but he's essentially ready to go. Thanks again for letting me get my foot in the door. If Camilo (the first) returns, I'll be happy to step aside. I'm dreaming up a different character just in case - but I'm open to suggestions if that time comes.

Camillo Duin wrote:

His ability scores are in his profile, entered in the fields of the profile instead of typed into the text. I'm glad someone's willing to play the character - I always hate to see characters just disappear, and Camilo especially had potential for a broad character arc during the campaign.

I, too, checked the player's other aliases, and saw that he hadn't posted anything since 12/31. I had to make sure it wasn't something I did to drive him off! : )

OK... Reporting for duty, ready for review! (I found some apparently inconsistencies in Camilo's profile, so those have been changed to match the rules. I tried to maintain his flavor throughout.)

Looks good to me! If you'd like to make a post filling in the blanks of what happened to Camilo from the time he came downstairs with Kerrec and met up with Foxglove to the time of the funeral that would be cool. I'll probably post the dinner party sometime Sunday mid to late afternoon (PST) so if anyone has any other stuff they'd like to do in the meantime they can post that between now and then probably.

Just throwing this out there, but if you guys happen to lose another player, Id be happy to step in, either as a direct replacement, or a whole new character.

Ive been following your game, and Im very entertained by it. I am currently running a RotR homegame which just started, but I can manage to not metagame if given the chance to play ;)

Sorry i missed this when you asked.

Kithian Darlok grew up in the Stony Mountains as part of the Tamiir-Quah, or Wind Clan, of Shoanti barbarians.
Kithian believes that he received a vision from the god of war during his Rite of Passage. When he informed the clan shaman of his vision, he was forced to flee for his life, becoming exiled from his clan under penalty of death. He believes the shaman may send assassins after him to remove him as a threat.
