Sorry Nymph, I thought everyone was going to be fine with being pirates since that's the basis of this AP. I don't think there is that much of a tonal shift, we aren't enslaving people, or raiding villages, or acting like the previous ship's officers, outside of taking stuff that doesn't belong to us.

Don't know if anyone's interested but I'm a player down in another game I'm GM'ing of Mummy's Mask - they just hit Book 3 and we lost one of our players into the ether I'm afraid.

It's currently a barbarian/ranger, a cleric and an occultist (replacing a rogue who inexplicably put on a cursed item and became DM property) wandering around Tephu trying to find out more information to help their friend the rogue.

In Horror Adventures they finally came out and officially said that yes, casting aligned spells is an aligned act.

I just got Horror Adventures so I'm not implementing any rules yet, probably won't at all. I've found the more you mess with older AP's the worse they work so the more work I have to do. Which I'm fundamentally opposed to.

I will say that the rule makes sense since way to many good-aligned (or neutral aligned) players were running around using hellfire.

Important Note: There's actually quite a few more piratical events baked into the AP but given the rate of posting (no judgement!) I'd rather skip them and get into the rest of the adventure.

But I'm willing to do more if you guys are, and skip to the cool event.

You would not, I repeat not, miss out on XP or loot normally gained - I'd simply do some hand waving and deposit it into your "account".

I'm fine with skipping some stuff as long as experience and wealth aren't otherwise affected. Although I'd prefer you give us an idea of what happened in the interim for the sake of role-playing and attempting to raise our disrepute.

You'd get to roll for Infamy - that's sort of nebulous anyhow, since you roll whenever you get into port. And unless you're planning on dying due to malnutrition (are you really a pirate unless you've had scurvy at least once?) you'd want to go back to a port sooner or later.
