1,3,2 would sound good to me.
I feel compelled to bring our goblin prisoner to your attention though. If you want to safeguard him, it may be necessary to talk with the sheriff before he makes rash decisions.
@something missed: I still wonder if you bards would have more luck with Knowledge(Local).
Lia was, aloud, wondering earlier if any powerful or influential locals were absent from the ceremony when they SHOULD have been there.
Raising a whole tribe of those little buggers into murderous action as a distraction is no small feat, so there COULD be a lead there.

I like 1, 3, and 2.
I will update the I/C tomorrow after I get home form work/gym.
Good ideas Lia, I will address those thoughts as well.

I apologize for my absence; RL has been unkind, with my mostly-on-again depression rearing its nasty head. I am, however, back and/or still up to be your grim archer. ;)

Welcome back!

Welcome back! I know the cold pit of depression, and I'm sorry you're having to deal with it.

No worries just glad you are feeling better again, I can totally relate.

Hey all, I'm in the middle of moving. Feel free to not me.
Lia Tani |
Lia's not really keen on the act of hunting. But the thought process I omitted was that IF we catch a couple boars, we could donate them to the community, roast them in public and provide for those who need or want them, because of loss, shock, or a need for companionship.
That sound okay with you guys?

Karina has been MIA for over a month. I have recruited an new player who is also new to the boards to replace her. The new player will be making a martial character and will be introduced some time this week.
Kael the Stoic |
Hello everyone!
This is my character, which is presently a rough draft that I switched around about 5 or 6 times today. I will be double-checking him and cleaning up his statblock later, but he is pretty much done other than the backstory. Just getting the crunchy bits out of the way.
Gameplay-wise, he is focused on standing between enemies and his party members, hitting enemies hard, and doing several combat maneuvers to help cripple enemy options during combat.
Roleplay-wise, he was a street urchin in Absalom born to a harlot. He had the good fortune to pick the pocket of an Elven warrior, who took him on as an apprentice. During his time with her, he learned the arts of swordplay, was educated in many different fields of knowledge, and the code of honor practiced by his mentor. When she was killed later, he took her blade and vowed to continue her work helping people. He's a calm, stoic warrior who has a deep sense of compassion and justice but very little in the way of people skills. He has several traits which most people would consider eccentric and is immensely fond of chess. He only moves when necessary during battle, waiting for the opponent to make a mistake that he can exploit.

Welcome aboard.
I will be back to regular posts Monday. That's when they are hooking up my internet at the new place.

Ouch! Touche and Checkmate.
Do not trifle with DMD's NPCs, they know how to sting! Rojava is currently completely gobsmacked and will resume the regular schedule of postings tomorrow after sufficient recovery. (And hopefully a clever weasel out has come to mind)

I plan on bringing Marcelano back and thought this would make his return memorable. :-)
Lia Tani |
@Rojava: Hehe, or you help him make a good memory for when he's cold, hungry, tired and in danger. You did claim telling things bluntly would work on you...and you WERE coming on to him, there ;)
Plus there you go, not only Lia gets attention from the males-(also, she's oblivious in that regard anyway).
@Kael: Welcome aboard. I think your Point-Buy does not quite work out (10+2+10+5+5-4=28) - you also probably don't want the full plate if you are sticking with Lore Warden...a -6 on all attack rolls would be very uncomfortable. Also, you took three traits improving various saves...be aware that they give the same type of bonus(trait) so won't stack.(e.g. deft dodger already gives a +1 trait bonus on reflex...even if the effect comes from an evil creature triggering purity of faith, it would not increase by another +1 because they overlap...same thing for a charm/compulsion effect from an evil creature - +2 from birthmark would overlap, not stack with +2 from purity.)(they do stack with feat boni, like lightning reflexes)
On the plus side, you are wielding the Elven Curved Blade two-handed, so the damage should increase to 1d10+6.
I know you are still in the process of altering and constructing the character but figured it's better to point out things that jump into my eye now rather than later ;)
Kael the Stoic |
Heh, now you see why I said that there was some cleaning up needed on my character? I spent about 30 minutes piecing it together, then switched concepts about 5-6 times over 2 hours.
There are some things that did not save, like my chain shirt conversion, trait choices, and ability score swapping, but I will make the change in a little bit... probably after some coffee! *Totally not addicted to caffeine or anything. :3*
Drasven Hammers |
Welcome! I fully welcome another meat-, I mean companion to join us in this fray.
Gwyddym Soarsong |
Welcome Kael to the sandpoint shindig. It'll be nice having someone else that excels at hitting things (since I'm all but useless in that regard).

Oh great, so they can be Sandpoint's Dharma and Greg? :p

He was supposed to say it, not mean it. Now things are all complicated and claustrophobic!

GRR, that's the the worst part. She isn't even trying! :p

I did not say he would be returning to Sandpoint, I just said I would be bringing him back :-)

Yay the site is back up! It made for a very long day with nothing to read. :)

I agree.

Just wondering, if Gwyd is playing pacifist, would this kind of feat be a valid choice for him? Bringing it up because it needs a running tally, so if he'd consider it for the future, it's best to start counting early.
Gwyddym Soarsong |
Hmmm, that's certainly an interesting one. I would definitely be interested if it's allowed.
Rojava Brishen |
I think that would be a fantastic option for Gwydd. I really like the idea of him as a pacifist, even if he did once prepare to clock a skeleton with a lute!
Gwyddym Soarsong |
Currently his pacifism only exteds to truly living creatures. Even still, as he gets further along with useful magic he'll become more of a personal pacifist.

Matrim has to step away from PbP for a while. As he is DMing another Table of Rise of the Runelords from the first Recruitment I will be bringing one of those players to this table.
I recruited someone to take Karina's place but she seems to have disappeared since March 28th, not a long time but with only 33 posts in total to the Alias I am a bit leery about whether she will return at all. I will give her a few more days to see if she resurfaces, if not I will recruit another person from the other, now defunct, table.
In the meantime, I think the RP taking place in the Rusty Dragon is giving you all a chance to flesh out your character personalities so we will continue it and hopefully introduce the next set of characters before the Boar Hunt.
Xarmas Misinirith |
Hello folks, I'm the new face!
Funny enough, the RotR game I was ever in was a PbP where the GM disappeared, and we'd just defeated the goblins, and headed back to the tavern afterward.
It worked out well for me, and thanks for having me. I put up a short post to get her in the scene, and I'll read up on your game to date. I'm excited to be here!
Windsight |
Just as a reminder, Xarmas, if the 'Travel' domain is the one you're looking to get for the 'Sacred Servant' aspect, you DO get the first-level Domain power - which for Travel is 'Agile Feet', able to ignore Difficult Terrain and all penalties for moving through it for a number of rounds per day equal to 3 + WIS Mod.
Drasven Hammers |
Welcome to the party! Join us as we perform Character Development...well at least I'm attempting to compared to the others, I'm barely catching up. lol
Karmid Groundbreaker |
Greetings! I am to be the newest companion in this game as of today. I was with Xarmas in the now defunct third table..Hey Xarmas!...and have been asked to join by the GM. I will do my best, and promise not to be too annoying if possible.
Feel free to peruse my character info and back-ground as needed. Now, to the Rusty Dragon!
Drasven Hammers |
That's one really big hammer in your profile pic.
Windsight |
... are we meant to assume that Karmid was around all the time, or ... ?
Lia Tani |
He seems to have implied that, so I went along with it. Too boastful for Lia's liking, though ;) alas, will make for fun situations.
DMD |
What can I say? The image spoke to me!
Let's have the backstory be that Karmid was once an Acolyte and blew out of town so you have all met him in the past but that he just today arrived back in town. So just that he apparently chased the Goblins fleeing so none of you have seen him in let's say at least one year (less if Ro or Lia have been here less than 1 year).
Karmid by the way brings our party to 8 players as one more new payer will be joining us soon. Once our new player enters the Rusty Dragon we will close out this scene and move on to the Boar Hunt the next day.

Thank you for that. Yes, I felt rather than change my background drastically, I would ty to slide in as a character that has been around for a while, but on left on the back-burner.
Basically he tends to go out hunting in the local wilderness to bring fresh food (both meat and wild flora) back to Sandpoint's poorer families and to the temple itself.Spends weeks doing it sometimes. He got back in town just as the goblin attack started and jumped in to help the sheriff and his men chase the stragglers.
It might have seemed a little forced, and a is a fun-loving boisterous fellow, but I assure you Karmid is a really decent guy and knows when to be serious.
