That'll automatically do enough damage to kill Torg, drinker and singer of songs. Whatever his story was, you'll never know it now. The dwarf has seen too many prone crusaders get a cure spell and pop up again to take any chances.

"Okay, then. Nice and slow, now..." The dwarf is attempting to move out of the Grease spell. That's a DC 10 Acrobatics check: 1d20 ⇒ 16


"Yeah! Woo!" He looks down at Benno the halfling. "Sissy, what's this? What've you got for me, here?"

The demon's actions will depend on whether Takka made that Will save. Takka, you around? If not, I'll roll it for you.

"Villains! You shall... ah heh... ah ha... ah hoo ha HA HA HA HA" Takka topples over, out of control. Suddenly he sees the insanity and absurdity of his situation! It's all so... hideously funny! He writhes helplessly on the floor, consumed with mad laughter.


"Inszzurance," comes the horrible buzzing voice. "Amuszement. And a ssnack."

"Snack?" The dwarf frowns. "For me or for you?"

Haruka, shall I assume you're still playing dead until further notice? Keep in mind that you are still in the webbing.


Because if Haruka is still playing possum, we can fast forward through Round 6...

"They're going to snap out of it in a few seconds," says Lewis.

"Yeah, I think we can handle a few mooks, Lewis. Get over here and slap that heal on me, though." The dwarf strolls over to where the kobold is wriggling on the ground. He grins. "Okay, that's pretty funny. Well." He draws back his foot and delivers a savage kick to the helpless Takka.

1d20 ⇒ 17 for 1d3 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 damage. Yes, the dwarf has Unarmed Strike. He took it for exactly this reason... he likes kicking people. Takka, that means next round you'll need stabilization checks. Assuming he doesn't just kick you to death, of course.


Lewis taps the dwarf on the shoulder, healing him for 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10 of damage. "More," grunts the dwarf irritably. "My face isn't healed. If she scarred my face, I swear I'll have her raised, just so I can cut her face off and make her eat it."

Lewis rolls his eyes. "I said, they're going to wake up...?"

"Yeah yeah. If you can deal with the little girl over there -- think you can handle that? -- I'll have a friendly chat with Sir Shouts-A-Lot." The dwarf spins his glaive, shifting the grip back to a longer reach.


On their initiatives, Sleek and Don get saves to escape the watersphere. Here they are: Sleek 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23 Don 1d20 ⇒ 19

Wow, both are out! Sleek can act on his initiative, and Don at the end of the round.


Probably should have rolled Sleek's save first. But never mind... I won't retcon the above. Assume they're ignoring Sleek, at least for the moment, in order to grab a quick heal and remove Takka from the board.

Okay, what if anything does Sleek do? Note that he's no longer being controlled by Takka, so he's acting on animal instinct now. Presumably he'd either flee or attack the dwarf.

Takka Stabilization: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Stumbling out of the watersphere, Sleek gets his legs beneath him before looking around for his rider. Spying Takka laying immobile at the foot of the dwarf, and watching as the bearded one kicks him, Sleek lets out a roaring croak, before barreling down on the dwarf with slime slathering off his back.

Sleek is making a bullrush attempt on the dwarf. If successful, he can coat him in slime as well to entangle him. (Bullrushes and overrunning lather the target in it if successful. Yeah, it's nasty stuff) I'm pretty sure this will provoke an AoO from the dwarf when he moves in, but thus is the way of battle.

Sleek Bullrush: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17


It definitely provokes an AoO from the dwarf. Here it is: 1d20 ⇒ 9 That's enough to hit: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

Edit: No, wait a moment, I just checked: Slurks have Improved Bull Rush! So, no AoO.

Edit2: No, wait again. Looking on your page, I only see Jumper for Sleek's feat. Is that because he only gets one feat as your mount? Clarification?

Yep. If I'm understanding the companion rules right, he only gets 1 feat, which is how I'm trying to handle him. (Slurk mounts are expressly addressed, so I just have to go with my best judgement.) So, sadly, no Improved Bullrush, that's an AoO on him.


Male Half orc Paladin 1 (redeemer archetype) AC 18 , HP 11/11, Int+1, Percep+1

Perception 1d20 - 4 ⇒ (2) - 4 = -2 to notice the dwarfs threats....


Okay. Well, that means no bullrush, because damage taken from an AoO is added to the defender's CMD.

Sir Constantine: -2 Perception means you still are in vimeoland. So shiny!


Robed Guy is slowly trying to stand up from under the table. 1d20 ⇒ 15 He manages it. And then he sends the watersphere with Don far away (outside the door), so that Don won't be nearby if he comes out (which he will).

Don takes another 2d6 ⇒ (4, 2) = 6 of subdual damage.

The demon drifts over towards Sir Constantine.

At the demon's approach, you'll finally snap out of the fascination. You can't act until next round, but you're not flat-footed.

Amuszement says the demon in your head. And then it lashes out with its horrible tongue. 1d20 ⇒ 7

It's in the general discussion of all combat maneuvers. "Unless otherwise noted, performing a combat maneuver provokes an attack of opportunity from the target of the maneuver. If you are hit by the target, you take the damage normally and apply that amount as a penalty to the attack roll to perform the maneuver." I said above it was added to the CMD, but mathematically it's the same thing.


Sir Constantine, you take only 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 damage... the tongue doesn't do that much damage as such. However, you now need to make a Will save.

Don manages to flip himself out of the watersphere at the very end of the round and then stops, staring into the room. Then, he takes out his lucky coin and, with a murmured prayer, flips it.

The dwarf frowns at him, but Lewis brightens. "A Sczarni! Hello, chicken! It's bona to vada, but you're a proper bimbo if you don't troll right now -- the clot here is ready to zhoosh you good!"

"Stop that," says the dwarf. "It's annoying."

(What did it feel like? Exactly what it looked like: something flexible but stiff trying to insert itself into your mind. You managed to resist -- this time -- but the demon is horribly strong.

As noted, that was your next round's action. (You didn't hit.)

If Osei made out this exchange, it is reasonable that, from context ('insurance' and 'snack'), he has identified that the demon has /someone/ in tow. Snack, he understands, but ... insurance?

Insurance against what? They certainly do not need the aid of a hostage to escape our efforts. This is curious, unless the demon is simply sowing chaos. Hmm.

Wow, you got out twice in a row!

There are two exits, one on the NW and one to the east. The one to the NW is currently blocked by the bad guys -- no way out there without eating an AoO. The one to the east, you could reach; you'd have to pass Robed Guy, but he doesn't seem inclined to make trouble (and anyway he doesn't have a weapon on him right now).

Breaking free was a move, so you could still take a move or a standard.

Sleek snarled an angry croak at the dwarf, before bringing back it's mighty tusks to try and chomp at the dwarf, circling about to try and interpose himself between Takka and his aggressor.

Bite: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 182d6 + 3 ⇒ (5, 6) + 3 = 14

You can try grabbing her and pulling her, or simply shaking her to snap out of it.

You can snap someone out of a fascination effect by shaking them or slapping them as a standard action.

Note that Laurine will snap out on her own on Lewis' initiative. So you could grab her then and yell, "Run!". (Whether she will actually do so is a separate question.)

Who is still alive down there? Should I descend? What good would it do, if I were to join them?

Osei furrows his brow and rubs his bald pate, wrestling internally in the ominous quiet.

Given the apparent ease with which the enemy has dispatched each team - including the more experienced among us - I do not think my simple magics would contribute more than an annoyance. No doubt, while I would quite /enjoy/ annoying those servants of the Abyss, such actions most likely would result in my capture. Or death. Or worse ... And to what end? No. Best that I live to relay more information than the 25 words I sent to Kenabres. The Garrison has been informed about the situation, and by now, they will have received the message in full. I will remain and recover the bodies for proper burial, or aid survivors. I wonder if the safehouse medical supplies are still intact?

Osei maintains a perceptive vigil at the top of the shaft, but notices Team Evil has moved closer to that portal. He is ready to quickly, and as quietly as possible, bolt for the exit up the corridor if they make efforts to ascend.

Laurine, eyes wide, looks around and then nods once. The two of you rush towards the other exit...

Slight complication: because getting out of the goop was a standard action, you can only move 30' this round. That brings you to the door. Laurine could move 120 at a run, since she took no other action this round... but she doesn't want to leave you behind. So she's pausing beside you. Instead of running away, she's casting a quick spell.

"This is a spell of protection against evil..."
