The chill of death surges through your body, bringing agonizing, numbing cold, draining your powers and reducing you to... oh, wait a moment. This is the Judge.
Okay, the chill of death surges through your body like a brisk refreshing breeze or a cold fizzy drink. Insofar as it has any effect at all, it leaves you feeling energized and invigorated.
That was a blast of negative energy; if you weren't at full hp, it would have healed you. As is, it's the undead equivalent of a quick hit of oxygen.
Judge Tohram Quasangi |
Pretty much just the Judge being his usual arrogant self. He is firmly convinced that he is practically indestructible, and while he prefers sending others in to get hurt first, does not mind doing the dirty work when necessary.
The Judge simply shakes his head.
Really, you think those pathetic undead attacks can harm me? You rotten elves should have spent more time studying and less time dying.
With that the Judge calls to the others.
More ghostly undead. You all might as well stay out there while I see what these corpses have hidden.
Ignoring the incorporeal attacker, the Judge turns back to searching the corpses.
Ulp |
Ulp watches highly entertained.
He too searches the room without touching anything. as judge moves stuff he is basically another set of eyes
1d20 + 18 ⇒ (7) + 18 = 25 percep
Douglas Muir 406 |
After several rounds of this, the dead spirits begin to emit faint, distant shrieks of frustration.
At this, one of the ladies pops out of the stone wall behind you and begins to wail. (I told you they hadn't given up.) Ulp and the Judge are distracted in the room ahead, so that means only Jax, Edmin, Dren and Zoren can reach her.
We'll eschew initiative, and you can simply tell me what (if anything) you're doing. Gentlemen?
Judge Tohram Quasangi |
The Judge smiles, always a scary thing.
Thank you gentlemen. I do not know which is more pleasant, the massage you are giving me, or your shrieks of frustration. I must say that both are rather enjoyable.
Perception: 1d20 + 31 ⇒ (2) + 31 = 33 <-- still searching the room, using detect magic
Apparently the Judge is distracted by chilly welcoming he is receiving.
Edmin Al'Roth |
Edmin attempts to use her head as a croquette ball.
Attack: 1d20 + 28 ⇒ (16) + 28 = 44
Damage: 1d12 + 32 ⇒ (2) + 32 = 34
Dren of the Dark Tapestry |
Dren casts heal and then walks over to touch the undead.
That's quite enough of that. a massive wave of psoitive energy leaps out and hits it.
Touch attack 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31 150 points of damage DC 25 willpower for half.
Spell penetration if needed 1d20 + 15 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 15 + 2 + 2 = 33
Jax Naismith |
Jax moves to the middle of the room and away from the floors, ceiling and walls, readying an attack if the ghosts decide to make a comeback. "Brilliant. I wish I had prepared for this."
Ulp |
well shocking grasp, scorching ray, etc do double damage, as does a nasty touch attack by a ghost, so I see no reason that it wouldn't do double
Douglas Muir 406 |
Edmin hit too, for what that's worth. (Sorry, Edmin. But you're not generally going to do 300 points of damage unless you're smiting an angel or something.) (Which you will totally get a chance to do sometime!)
Anyway: if the Lady's fuss has done anything, it has attracted the attention of the three spectral warriors. Abandoning their fruitless assault on the Judge, they're now moving out into the corridor.
Initiative!
Ulp |
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Judge Tohram Quasangi |
Init: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 14
Seeing the warriors move on to warmer targets, the Judge calls out to them.
Come back and fight like real warriors. I suppose you are here because you ran from real fights in life as well.
With that, he will swipe at one with his kukri.
Attack-AoO: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (12) + 17 = 29
Damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
He also calls you to the others.
Friends coming.
When he gets close enough to Edmin, he will start a Bardic Performance - Inspire Heroics -- +4 morale bonus to Saves, +4 dodge bonus to AC.
Jax Naismith |
Jax will move to assist Edmin, slashing at one of the apparitions, flanking with Edmin."Zoren, you're worthless. You promised you'd be helpful this time!"
Attack:: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (19) + 22 = 41
Damage:: 1d6 + 21 ⇒ (5) + 21 = 26 physical damage
Intensified Shocking Grasp:: 15d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 6, 3, 6, 4, 1, 6, 3, 5, 6, 6, 5, 6, 6) = 66 electricity damage
Sneak Attack: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 4) = 11
Crit confirmation: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (9) + 22 = 31
Critical Damage: 1d6 + 21 ⇒ (4) + 21 = 25
15d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 2, 4, 2, 3, 5, 3, 1, 1, 1, 3, 3, 5, 4) = 39 electricity damage
Douglas Muir 406 |
I hope you're keeping track of all these Shocking Grasp spells! (Yes, I know you get a ridiculous number of them.)
How are you getting SA damage, here? Anyway, the crit confirms, so your total is 92 + 64 = 156 damage, or 167 if you get the SA. (That's on spirit Albert. Spirits Billy Bob and Chuck are still untouched.)
Ulp |
Ulp 5 ft floats himself over a bit closer and bombs the crap out of Billy bob, hopefully splashing another one. Also note that if for some reason Albert is not dead from that I hit him first. Once one drops he switches to another. Excludes all allies. If I am unable to see them then only the first bomb happens.
1d20 + 22 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 22 + 1 + 2 = 28 for 8d6 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (1, 5, 2, 5, 5, 1, 1, 4) + 7 + 1 = 32 DC 24 for half on splash only. Direct hit Dazzled. This attack vs FF as well as touch due to invoice
1d20 + 17 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 17 + 1 = 38 for 8d6 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (4, 6, 6, 2, 6, 4, 1, 1) + 7 + 1 = 38 DC 24 for half on splash only. Direct hit Dazzled.
1d20 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 12 + 1 = 17 for 8d6 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (4, 4, 3, 5, 4, 5, 4, 2) + 7 + 1 = 39 DC 24 for half on splash only. Direct hit Dazzled.
Mythic Rapid Shot
1d20 + 22 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 22 + 1 = 38 for 8d6 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (1, 4, 6, 3, 2, 6, 3, 4) + 7 + 1 = 37 DC 24 for half on splash only. Direct hit Dazzled.
to confirm second attack 1d20 + 17 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 17 + 1 = 28 for 1d6 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 7 + 1 = 12 DC 24 for half on splash only. Direct hit Dazzled.

Jax goes after Edmin, so he's going to try and flank with him.
And yes, so far Jax has used Four, one per combat.Forgot to note that the last shocking grasp was also Empowered (yay free empower or quicken everytime he casts shocking grasp).

Ah, wait, Jax is going last. So he does get the SA damage.
Note that damage is halved -- intangible! So, 167/2 = 83.
Ulp |
sorry that should have said invis not invoice-stupid autocorrect
Ulp |
it just gives on additional die, that is actually correct. only the initial die is multiplied. Sad huh?
Ulp |
Correct 5 ft for elec and my fire 10 for my poison
Ulp |
Dm I would think Edmin is smart enough hot one that is already wounded...
Dren of the Dark Tapestry |
Does Dren recognize these creatures? Also how long has it been since we encountered the witches in the previous room?
Knowledge Religion 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (1) + 12 = 13 Bah he guesses they are undead that do negative energy damage so he will cast Death Ward on himself.
Douglas Muir 406 |
Ulp, Zoren, Dren, Edmin, Three Spirits, Judge, Jax
Okay, so it's the turn of the Three Spirits. The Judge being untouchable, they have five possible targets. Dren and Zoren are casting defensive spells, so that leaves Edmin, Jax and Ulp. Since Jax hasn't attacked yet, I'd say it's a bit less likely they'd go after him, so let's say 1-4 Edmin, 5-8 Ulp, 9-10 Jax. 1d10 ⇒ 5.
Ulp |
touch 22, the number in parentheses, represents my buffed AC. Also it is 10 points per attack, so I take 1 damage, only from that second attack. Do I need to make my fort save if I take no damage? Like with poison?
