Just got in this morning. More anon.
Welcome back. That actually your side trek sounds amazing!
Er, how do you survive with no luggage and clothes for the kids?
I have to catch a flight later today, will post more in about 25 hours.

Poor Yordan!

For all their problems, at least our characters are inside and don't have to deal with the weather.
(Currently in tornado shelter listening to the sirens outside. I didn't know they could come during the evening...)

Whoa! That's beyond my ken.
Good luck good sir!

I promise Yordan's thinking will straighten out. Right now, there's that whole trauma thing of being strapped to a table and wildly pruned to overcome.
As an example, if Yordan the (occasional) bounty hunter and tracker were more With It, he'd probably be on the trail of the person getting away. Alas, it's hard to chase when you're staggered (and I think at least one piece of his brainpan is still jiggling around and scraping some nerves raw...)

For DMDM and other DMs,
What sword would you substitute for the Druid's scimitar?
I know the Druid has had this weapon since 1st ed AD&D, but the weapon is not even remotely historically linked to the Gaelic Druid.
Yordan Patar |
Oh, Yordan isn't suicidal. Homicidal, maybe, under the right circumstances, but not suicidal. :)
As far as swords go, let's just say that the relationship of the Pathfinder weapons table to real weapons is ... weird. To put it mildly. If you want a traditional Celtic weapon, the longsword is probably not unlike the La Tene swords... or you could use a spear, or maybe a staff. Or a really big hammer, like a smith's.
baron arem heshvaun |
I was kidding about the suicidal bit.
:)
As to the weapons thanks, looking up La Tene now. The other weapons are fine of course, but they are already allowed to the Druid. I'm basically looking for a 'Druidic sword' with some history and game reasoning to go with it.

Thanks for sharing.
After reading a bit, I like the stylized art and the frenetic lettering, though paneling is a bit awkward at least in the early comics. It reminds me somewhat of Scott Pilgrim with the band vs. band vibe, though with female leads. Also, it seems to lack the constant video game references ...
In return, I recommend to everyone: A couple of older, complete comics I really dig (heh) are Freakangels (Warren Ellis++) and Digger (Ursula Vernon). I mainlined both of those.
DM_DM |
Yes, a lot like Scott Pilgrim. There isn't the video game stuff, but characters do summon guitars from nowhere and start rhyming at the drop of a hat. And it starts off silly, but... well, continues mostly silly, but with complicated and interesting stuff going on.
Is Freakangels finished yet? I know Digger is. (As I noted to someone once, Digger was the anti-Cerebus, though I doubt she intended it that way.) Author Ursula Vernon is writing a lot of short fiction these days; IMS she got a Hugo nomination recently.

Who has the highest Stealth skills? Would it be worth to send 2 of us to do a quick scouting trip?

Apropos of nothing.
After looking through the first few pages of Awful Hospital, I find your statement ... unlikely.
So..either that box is a Secret Chest with Mrakala's spellbook or it will release a Nightshade into our existence. Knowing DMDM, it's a nightshade.
Let me open it anyway!

Dude. Respectfully.
That's pretty sick. Dude.

BTW, I see a couple of you are noodling around with pre-fugue backstory.
That's completely fine! The last several years are missing, but you have some memories from before that. Broadly speaking, the further back you go, the more you remember. So, five years ago, you got nothin', but childhood is mostly intact. If you want to roll for it, then it's 40% + 20% x your Fugue score for childhood memories, 20% x your Fugue score for more recent stuff between the end of childhood and the onset of full fugue some years gack. But I'm not going to be dogmatic about it -- if you want your character to have a particular memory as part of a pre-Fugue backstory, that's just fine.
Vitæ Somnium |
Except for Vitae. Right now, he doesn't remember *anything*. That's weird, given that he has Fugue 3. But there it is. He's very functional, and knows all sorts of stuff, but he can't tell you how he knows it.
I'm Cliff Clavin!

No need for that reminder, I still recall the Mountian that Swims from your WotW campaign.

Oh god, I'd forgotten about that unfortunate event.

It was nothing but a talking iceberg. Not something that anyone needs to worry about.

My vote was to sacrifice Bref . . . or whichever one of his reincarnations was with us at that point.

Re healing: a quick check seems to show that Yordan (at 5/12 hp) is the only injured one among us. Also, if I'm right we only have one healing spell left (is that right?) I could certainly use a spell, but if we have only one it might be better to wait until we really need it (i.e., someone else is in danger of going down.) I'll try and stay out of the frontline in the meantime (reach weapon, bow, etc., means I don't have to go up close.)
If we have more than one healing spell left, than for Pharasma's sake cast one on me ;)
Mrakala |
In his defense, if I was the Wizard in Mrakala's position I would be panicking 2x worse.
I've considered taking a bonded item on a wizard before but never do and always go with a familiar. The benefits of +Initiative always seemed the better choice and there is that "hypothetical" if your bonded item is stolen you can't cast without it (not really). I didn't usually consider that downside since, when has that ever happened?
...until this game. I'd like to note the archetype forces you to take a bonded item so.. :(
Never again!
Yordan Patar |
I've taken a bonded item and it was very convenient (lots of useful abilities, notably the ability to cast anything in your spellbook, plus the ease of enchanting it.)
But then my GM in that campaign wasn't into crippling players just because. (Curse of the Crimson Throne, I was a halfling necromancer with That One Ring as his bonded item... I admit mostly for the fun of it, but it was a surprisingly effective build.)
