Jasmine laughs at the playful swimming...Ropes are useful for ties, a little rope burn can be a reminder of the fun. She glances over the companions then goes back to her spell creating.

The rest of the night passes uneventful, with most of the crew swimming and drinking and luckily nobody drowns in the water. The next day is greet by a warm sunny sky and a nice cool breeze. As the PC's make their way to the top, they are all stopped by Scourge.

Scourge is going to give you the task that he knows you hate the most, so I am letting everybody but Mesdoram roleplay whatever task that is. I trust that you guys, so you can pick. Mesdoram you continue to randomly pick your task.

Pirate's Task: 1d6 ⇒ 4 Turtle Hunting. Again. What are they doing with all the turtle meat?

Survival: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11

Mesdoram gets directed to go hunting for turtles again by a sober, and somewhat shamed-faced, Ambrose who confesses to fouling a second cask of turtle meat by throwing up in it after a long night of drinking.

He spots a turtle quickly enough and despite a clumsy throw spears one fairly quickly.

Crimson, who'd rowed him out for the hunt, comments that he's gotten quite handy with that harpoon.

Mesdoram flashes a quick grin. Aye, I'm a full-service cook. I catch it, clean it, cook it and serve it. Think the captain will give me four shares for four jobs?

Crimson laughes at the absurdity of Mesdoram ever getting four shares of treasure and helps him bring the turtle on deck.

After prepping the turtle meat, Mesdoram gets some cooking for stew again and then hammers down a lid on the cask, and paints large letters on the top of the cask "DANGEROUS, DO NOT OPEN!".

Maybe that'll keep the drunks away from the damn meat!

He makes sure to put some choice bits aside for Owlbear, and proceeds to portion out the food for the evening meal.

Jasmine nods, "None are useful to you?" She contemplates his words. "I know Balthe and you don't see eye to eye, but surely one or two of the others are useful." She is trying to a feel for who else is truly disliked.

Those useless crew members have stood beside me, since we 'volunteered' on this rat infested vessel." She pauses choosing her words carefully, "If you require an answer, I'll stick with them."

She winks at Plug, "It's a shame you weren't a bit more tolerant, we could have been a formidable crew for you. We've proven hard to kill." She reaches down and cups his package, "Besides we could've had fun." She releases and turns away.

I'm sure, I'll live to regret this.

Plugg's eyes widen as Jasmine grabs him. As Jasmine walks away Plugg is glaring a hole through the back of her head. Finally he is able to utter words, YOU WILL PAY FOR THIS! Just you watch, you wench.

The rest of the night is uneventful and as the morning comes, Scourge gives the group the same tasks as yesterday (Mes you still roll). Holgur pick the most undesirable task from the Riggers list please.

"Effin' mainsail duty" Holgur grumbles to himself when Plugg gives him his task. The soreness in his muscles from his tenure on the Wormwood increase with every tug on the lines and there is no shade today. To make matters worse, he cannot focus his mind on the work at hand. Every time that he holds a rope he imagines it to be the string of his longbow.

More than once a crew member up above yells down to him for slack. This goes on all day as Holgur daydreams about putting arrows in Plugg's feet and then moving upwards with each shot.

Finally, a frustrated rigger tosses a hammer down, inches from Holgur's head. A torrent of abuse follows, demanding that he pay attention to his work. Holgur replies with threats of harm but they are lost in the wind.

Mesdoram gets up and for once his precautions regarding the turtle meat have managed to make a difference.

Ambrose is awake and they set to cooking up their now patented turtle stew - except for Jaundice, who gets the blandest, most irritating bowl of porridge that Mesdoram can make.

Having heard of Jasmine's encounter with Plugg the previous evening from on-deck scuttlebutt, he makes an exaggerated show of delivering a clean towel to her with salt water and a scraper to clean her hands before letting her eat.

He also makes sure to get Owlbear some food and spends some time talking with him as Owlbear eats.

"He's a bit smaller than I'd expect." She follows this up with wink to the group.

Jasmine's last remark brings a chuckle from Holgur. "If you ever captain a ship, may I suggest that you call her the Size Queen?"

"If he wants us out of the way he might send us out to do something suicidal or try to get us killed 'accidentally' at our jobs. It looks like he is trying to work out how to do that."

"Now, I have no desire to go near Harrigan but it might be worth it to try to tip him off somehow. I have no ideas on that, myself."

Am waiting for Four Skulls to move forward, but if he doesn't by the time I get home from work in a few hours I will move the story forward. And Jasmine I wont lie you move with Plugg made an upcoming decision I have ALOT easier ;-)

After the daily tasks Mesdoram brings out the the soup and hands it out to everybody. Everybody quickly eats and compliments Fishguts and Mesdoram. Jaundice starts to eat but quickly turns green and within 10 minutes is over the side of the ship throwing up. The other sailors laugh at him and as he heads down stairs he glares at Mesdoram.

After dinner is finished Scourge calls Balthe, and Holgur to the main deck to receive their lashings. Scourge smiles and calls forth Holgur first. Get on your knees scum.

DAM:

Balthe you need to make 3 FORT saves DC 10, or take 1d3 points of CON damage for 24 hours. If you let the others know, anybody can make a Heal check, Craft:Alchemy, or Knowledge Nature.

At Scourge's command, Holgur defiantly challenges him."What's the matter, Skeve? Afraid to lash a man who is standing?" As he speaks, Holgur pulls off his shirt to avoid getting cloth stuck in any wounds that he receives. Anyone who looks at his back will see that he old scars on his shoulders from Bloody Hours on past ships.

After another glorious day at the bilges Four Skulls joins the dinner. He keeps mostly to himself but his patience is running thin. In the aftermatch of the bloody hour the shoanti heals his companions after the lashings and out of sight of the officers. By then his mind is set on murder.

After Four Skulls works his healing magic Holgur stretches out his limbs and offers his gratitude in a deadpan "Thank ye, 'Four. But let's not talk of this; I don't like to think that another man made me feel this good by touching me sensitive areas."

After Balthe and Holgur take their lashings Four Skulls is called forward and told to kneel down. Scourge takes his normal whip and strikes Four Skulls 3 times.

Holgur dumps his rum without his usual subterfuge about letting it run into his beard. Deep down he wants to be caught so that he can draw steel on Scourge and then on Plugg. He is in the midst of a satisfying daydream of violence when the image of the Captain enters his mind. Something about that man unnerves him and brings his focus back to his surroundings.

Mesdoram decides after taking the measure of the ship not to frame Jaundice for taking his potion yet. So he spends the evening moving around to recover the items he's stashed in various locations back into a central one in the galley.

Jasmine is wary of the extra attention she has now attracted from Plugg so she will drink her rum. She will then try to gather some information,

The night passes uneventfully. The next morning as everybody is assigned their daily duties, all the swabs get assigned swabbing the deck, except for Jasmine. Plugg and Scourge call Jasmine over to them.
Plugg looks at her with an evil grin [b] You will be working in the bilges today, make sure you do a good job. Scourge check her for any weapons or illegal items, there have been thieves aboard this ship. [b]

Scourge thoroughly searches Jasmine, taking extra time to feel her up and down. When Scourge is satisfied that he finds nothing, he dismisses her to the bilges.

As Jasmine is walking away, she hears Scourge.

[b] Jaundice, Fipps, sorry lads but you drew the unlucky straws of the bilges today. Have fun and make sure there are no "accidents" today, [b] Scourge says with a smile. Scourge turns to Mesdoram before he leaves [b] The Captain wants FRESH turtles, so go catch them, don't bother reporting to Fishguts, he is already aware, oh and Balthe, you go help him row the boat, the waves are rough today and we don't want our little cooking helper to drown in the waves, [b] Scourge smirks and laughs as he walks away barking orders at everybody else.

Everybody notices that Scourge and Plugg are watching more carefully then ever, and that almost all throughout the day, either Scourge or Plugg stand near the ladder that takes you below deck.

Also today, Owlbear is chained to the main sail, which is rare, and is told to not talk to anybody or he gets lashings. Scourge and Plugg also keep a close eye on him.

Jasmine you are in the bilges for only a few minutes before Jaundice and Fipps join you, they will not speak to you and immediately get to work. Everybody else can role play their roles and FYI there will not be an opportunity to sneak below the deck as Scourge and Plugg are keeping a very close eye on the group.

Mesdoram gives Scourge a vile look as he sees him pawing Jasmine, and when Scourge gives him his orders, Mesdoram looks at Scourge with the scorn only a true professional chef can turn on a layman who thinks he knows how best to prepare a meal.

Of course, I'll be happy to get fresh turtle meat. Not that it won't have to be prepared and stored anyway to produce the best flavor, but we might run out of the 5 stone worth of meat we have and wouldn't that be a shame.

He produces and absently twirls a dagger around his finger as he speaks to Scourge before turning to grab the filthiest, rustiest harpoon he can see on deck and climbing into the fishing boat.

Aye, my friend, that we do. Scourge's head would look mighty fine dangling by that rat-tail from the yardarm of my-our ship.

Survival: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13

Mesdoram and Balthe catch a turtle relatively easy, and without any fanfare return it to the boat. Mesdoram avoids comment as he motions Balthe to take it with him to the galley below decks.

Bluff: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17 Attempt to convince everyone this is purely routine and therefore shouldn't attract comment or attention by Plugg or Scourge.
