Here's where we discuss things! Feel free to join in.

Hello everyone! Really looking forward to this.

male Half-Elf /HP 9 (1d8+1)/Init +3/ AC 15/ T 13/ FF 12/ Fort 1/ Ref 5/ Will 1/ BAB 0/ CMB 1/ CMD 14/ Rapier 1d6-1/ Bow 1d6+4/Percep +3/ Rouge/1

Hello, I still need to configure my character but im working on it!

Female Human Bard

Hello people. :)

Looking forward to a fun game. If ya'll got any character questions or past meet-ups thought out, feel free to speak up. :)

Male Human
Stat Block:
HP 14/14| AC: 17/ T: 11 FF: 16 | F: +2/R: +1/W: +5| CMB +3 | CMD +14 | Speed 20 | Init. +1 | Perc. +5 | Darkvision 60 ft

Hello All! Glad to be in and ready to heal the lot of you *)

Alright, time for some more dreaded rules/guidelines:

1) I'm very serious about my posting requirements. If you have something coming up, let me know. That's a different scenario. If you're just constantly late to the party (as in you are consistently missing a 24-hour posting period), I will PM you once. If you continue to drag the action down, I will dismiss you. No hard feelings, I realize everyone has other stuff going on. This is just not going to be one of those snail-crawling games, and there are too many willing applicants who can keep up with the post rate. I will hold myself to the same standard, unless there is party decision-making to handle before action can move forward.
2) I'm an old hat at DMing (20+ years), but relatively new to PbP (1 month) and therefore still working on my style. I am very receptive of feedback. That being said, whenever a combat situation arises, I will roll the initiatives, and surprise perceptions as needed. At the start of each round, I want each of you to give me your action for the round, with contingencies as you fancy. For example, Bella attacks orc 1, unless he goes down, in which case she starts to Inspire Courage. This more accurately portrays a fluid combat situation where you don't know what the other parties are doing. Feel free to communicate and coordinate with each other, however. Just realize that enemies who understand the language might be able to counter.
3) The Discussion Thread is purely for ooc chatter and discussion only. Any party planning, etc. needs to happen in the Gameplay thread. Anyone snooping on you via sneaking or scrying should have an opportunity to gather this information, just as you would like the same opportunity. Likewise, if you go to talk to the Sheriff, and didn't figure out a gameplan beforehand, you either have to discuss the situation in front of him, or wing it.
4) Feel free to make your own rolls for things like lock-picking, trap-disarming, etc. However, you do not 'know' the results of these rolls, so act accordingly.
5) Rules-lawyering, as in, don't. LOL In all seriousness, if I charge your character, and the bad guy misses, and it turns out that he shouldn't have had an action to charge that round, just let it go.
6) With all that being said, our objective here is to have fun! So please be respectful of your fellow players. My job here is to narrate the story and provide your adversity, but you are the stars, and it's up to you to move the narrative forward.

I will be PMing some of you later this evening with questions of a minor nature about your characters (gear and gold not matching up, that kind of thing).

Completely fine with all of the rules.

@Zelladanyia Bellamy has been in Sandpoint for a few weeks now, so he may have met some of the characters that have been staying there for a while as well.

Nover has been working at the Rusty Dragon for a bit, so you guys likely have run into him.

Female Human Bard

Zella would likely have arrived in Sandpoint at least a week in advance of the festival and would have been trying to trade entertainment for room and board at the Rusty Dragon.

She would have been there singing, dancing and the occasional reading of the cards for people.

Male Human Fighter 2; Init +1, Per +1; AC 21/12/19; HP 14/22 F+5, R+1, W+2 (+3 vs Fear)

This is DM Crispy. Please update your Character/Level/Race bars of your profile to give your stats in the format of my character here. You can spoiler tag it if you prefer.

Female Human Bard 2; Init +3, Per +0; AC 17(+4 VS AOO)/14/13; CMD:15; HP 18/18; F+2, R+6, W+3

Yay! Thanks for the invite. Looks like we got a pretty good group goin'.

Elaina will have only been in Sandpoint a couple days, unlikely she's on a first name basis with anyone.

Do we wanna organize our spells before we start? Looks like we've two CLW, Channel, and three grease, which might be a little overboard on healing and grease.

First thing Bellamy learned in mage school; you can never have too much healing...or grease(He's still trying to figure out the latter).

Jokes aside, I can switch to something else if you guys would like that, planning to pick up grease later down the line if I don't have it now. Its a really good spell.

Female Human Bard 2; Init +3, Per +0; AC 17(+4 VS AOO)/14/13; CMD:15; HP 18/18; F+2, R+6, W+3

Would just be good to have a longer range CC spell. You can keep grease, I don't wanna change anyone's progression. I'll take sleep, 110 foot range should do it.

Female Human Bard

Maybe Zella can show you a fun use for grease later. ;)

Haven't quite made up my mind which spells I will take later. Guess I will just have to wait till we play a bit and then figure out what will likely be needed next.

Whoa! I was led to believe the expectation was PG-13 here on the Paizo boards. Lol

So we're waiting on Nover to join us? Excellent.

Good morning everybody. And some games can be run PG-13, others can be a bit... more than that. Looking over Slivan's profile his point buy is all wonky. For starters he dumped str and is built on 15 points. You have another 5 points to spend, bring your str up to 12, drop your dex down to 16 and use the spare 3 points on con so you have a 12 after modifiers. It keeps most of what you had before.

Slivan is aware of his issues and has PM'd me about them. He's working on updating.

Female Human Bard

Heh, I will keep my rating to whatever you want to set it at.

And Zella talks a lot more than she follows through. Flirty bards tend to make more money.

Let's keep the gameplay thread pg-13. If rated R would advance the narrative or establish a relationship between PC's, we can PM.

Male Human
Stat Block:
HP 14/14| AC: 17/ T: 11 FF: 16 | F: +2/R: +1/W: +5| CMB +3 | CMD +14 | Speed 20 | Init. +1 | Perc. +5 | Darkvision 60 ft

Glad to abide by the rules as they appear easy to understand and follow.

Seems our party is shaping up nicely. Lots of good character to build upon. I am looking forward to our beginning posts.

BTW you have got to love a Bard with a little PG-13 grease on her. It keeps the focus on the songstress.

Female Human Bard 2; Init +3, Per +0; AC 17(+4 VS AOO)/14/13; CMD:15; HP 18/18; F+2, R+6, W+3

And you can slip out of grapples easier!

Seems simple enough, PG-13 is actually how I favor games. It helps keep things forum friendly, and insults more colorful.

Georges St. Pierre cast grease on himself for his bout with BJ Penn. Worked out great for him.

Over the course of the game I may go from using a shield to using like an earth breaker or greataxe. Really whatever we find I'll use as I think I'm the only one with martial weapon proficiency not relating to long swords.

People's be adaptable, Nover. Use whatever makes tactical sense. Or money sense. Much better to use a +1 weapon worth 2,000 gp as opposed to selling it for 1,000.

Gameplay thread is open!

male Half-Elf /HP 9 (1d8+1)/Init +3/ AC 15/ T 13/ FF 12/ Fort 1/ Ref 5/ Will 1/ BAB 0/ CMB 1/ CMD 14/ Rapier 1d6-1/ Bow 1d6+4/Percep +3/ Rouge/1

Still have some cleaning up to do with my character just ran out of time. Looking forward to the adventure!

Party, this is your story...would you like to RP through a bit of the Festival, or have me summarize and jump ahead?

Female Human Bard 2; Init +3, Per +0; AC 17(+4 VS AOO)/14/13; CMD:15; HP 18/18; F+2, R+6, W+3

Nover should get us wasted. We can wake up in the morning with no memory of the night before, What Happens in Vegas style.

Female Human Bard

Heh, Elaina's idea is amusing. Though it has me wondering who would wake up where...

Female Human Bard 2; Init +3, Per +0; AC 17(+4 VS AOO)/14/13; CMD:15; HP 18/18; F+2, R+6, W+3

Elaina will probably just want to explore the town. I'm ok with fast forwarding a bit.

LOL, unless you guys are followers of Cayden Cailean or Drunken Masters, I highly doubt drunkenness would help you in the encounters ahead. Well, the combat encounters anyway. :p

I'll tally the votes at midnight tonight, if we don't have a majority before then.

We are not playing "The Hangover: Varisia." That would be bad, plus Nover would cut you off, he'd rather not have you get thrown in the clink for being too drunk, then get yelled at by the sheriff for not cutting you off.

I am all for not skipping ahead.

Maybe give everybody a post about what they did and then a time skip.

There's no clear winner, so we'll take Nover's suggestion as a compromise. Give me a brief synopsis of what you want to do at the Swallowtail Festival, and I'll narrate a montage.

Bellamy will mostly stay around the local contests, maybe try his luck with a dart throwing game. After that he'll get his lunch and stay by Ameiko and chat it up.

Male Human
Stat Block:
HP 14/14| AC: 17/ T: 11 FF: 16 | F: +2/R: +1/W: +5| CMB +3 | CMD +14 | Speed 20 | Init. +1 | Perc. +5 | Darkvision 60 ft

Herri will wander about the festival looking for a few games of chance in the form of cards and such while also looking to test his strength.

primarily just taking in the surroundings and meeting a few peeps along the way.

Let's see, I'll finish my stew, walk around with my pie, make sure Ameiko tastes the ale I made, then play the game of strength, if the temple is taking donations drop off the rest of whatever I made in tips and that's it for Nover.

Female Human Bard

Zella would have entered the dance contest of course and then wander around, taking in everything and perhaps offering another song or two. Most likely a song of praise to Desna and a romantic ballad or two.

Female Human Bard 2; Init +3, Per +0; AC 17(+4 VS AOO)/14/13; CMD:15; HP 18/18; F+2, R+6, W+3

Elaina'll play with the the magicians and try to win the dance competition if she can gain entrance. She's pretty competitive. Then lunch. Then she'll realize eating and drinking constantly since dawn might not have been the best idea and take a nap after lunch.

Feel free to add a little more flavor before we move on.

Moving forward later tonight, so any last minute RPing, carousing, flirting, etc, this is your last call.

It might just be pure coincidence, but just in case I will reiterate. All actions for the round will be posted, then I will resolve them. You do not have to wait for those higher in the initiative to go. This both speeds up combat, and gives it a little more realism, since you guys aren't technically stationary until your turn. You guys are committing to action (so please provide contingencies as appropriate), and if it proves that that action was a bad idea...well, that's life. If the goblins you were gonna blast are now a grease spot on the map, I won't have your character cast a spell at empty air. LOL

Now that our first combat is over, how was the pacing? Any feedback, thoughts, etc?

Also, for those that peeked at the DM tag, please continue to post actions...I was rolling in advance.

I hope we keep this pacing. Thumbs up for ending the battle when it was a clear win for us; one gob and 5 angry PCs lol, everyone could see how that would end.

Female Human Bard

Fine with the pacing and ending it when you did. :)

Male Human
Stat Block:
HP 14/14| AC: 17/ T: 11 FF: 16 | F: +2/R: +1/W: +5| CMB +3 | CMD +14 | Speed 20 | Init. +1 | Perc. +5 | Darkvision 60 ft

I thought it all flowed great. I love the spontaneous action based on us putting our data in and then you correlating the results.

Especially when the goblin was last in the initiative. LOL Alright, great. Hopefully there won't be too many snafu's of 'I wouldn't have done that.' :)
