Pyron Firehide |
Pyron sees that he needs help and follows Tolenn's suggestion. So he runs over and attempts to help Gaius: Aid Climb: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (19) - 1 = 18
DM Crispy |
Gaius begins to climb the fence, but falters as Tolenn and Wednesday reach out to assist, Daud gives an extraordinarily hard shove, but Tolenn's assistance is awkward, resulting in Gaius almost going up sideways. Pyron reaches up and helps straighten him, and Gaius makes it over the fence.
Let's have a stealth check, Gaius.
DM Crispy |
Gaius lands as lightly as a cat after being thrown unceremoniously over the fence. (I'm going to handwave the d6 fall damage without an acrobatics check. You could hold onto the top and only drop 3 feet or so...and if you can't manage that without injuring yourself you're in the wrong line of work.) The follower of Calistria realizes his good luck, as he looks and sees that the doors leading to the larger pen open into this one and are unlocked. (The pigs could just push against them and enter this area.)
Gaius Tindareus |
Gaius sneaks over to the unlocked doors to secure them before letting the others in the main doors. If there's a piece of wood nearby that's used to bar the door, I'll use that, otherwise I'll wedge my shield in. If it's a type of door that had handles instead of slats, I'll "lock" them by looping a rope through and knotting it. Assuming that works... .
Satisfied that no pigs will be barging in, Gaius then tries to quietly unlock the gate to let his friends in.
Is it external or do I need a key to unlock the doors?
Gaius Tindareus |
Gaius waves in the others, holding a finger up to his lips for silence as he points to the locked pen. Pigs, he whispers.
Pyron Firehide |
Pyron silently enters the building. If you need a stealth check, then he'll do that.
Tolenn |
Tolenn enters slowly, trying to stay as quiet as possible.
Stealth 1d20 - 4 ⇒ (19) - 4 = 15
Pyron Firehide |
stealth: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (9) - 1 = 8
Am I any better at being quiet this time?
Wednesday Daud |
Stealth: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Gaius Tindareus |
Gaius fixes Pyron with a stare that could curdle milk. Don't move, he whispers angrily. Then, to Daud: Can you say something through the doors to calm those pigs?
Pyron and/or Daud--don't forget the Harrow points for this adventure are Dex-based. You can reroll a stealth check with them.
Wednesday Daud |
Will remember that for future use.
Handle Aninal: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
Placing his palm out towards the boars he locks eyes with them while a gentle shushing issues from his lips.
Gaius Tindareus |
Gaius, satisfied that the pigs have calmed down, sneaks past them, skirting around the wagon to open the other door.
I'm not sure how many stealth checks you want me to make, here's another if applicable.
Stealth: 1d20 + 6 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 6 + 2 - 2 = 26
Wednesday Daud |
With the door open Daud will let himself in.
Stealth: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Pyron Firehide |
Pyron takes out his morningstar and stands guard for now.
DM Crispy |
You secured the entrance so the pigs can't attack you. I have no interest in a 3 day game of 'keep the pigs quiet'. As long as you don't take out the cowbell and start banging it, you're good.
Gaius glides along with not a whisper of sound, coming to rest before the door. Gently trying to turn the handle, he finds that this one, too, is locked.
Keyhole below the knob, door looks like it opens inward.
Tolenn |
Tolenn sidles upto the side of the building and waits for Gaius to work on the door.
Gaius Tindareus |
Gaius tests the lock and, still lacking tools, again tries to sound like Malder.
Karralo, Verik, open up! It's me! again whisper-yelling through the key hole.
bluff: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
DM Crispy |
After a short pause, the group hears a loud voice faintly through the door. "Come on, Malder, you know Verik's asleep. Good thing for you guys, too. I'll unlock the door, but I ain't helping ya none...I feel kind of sick tonight.
Gaius hears the faint click indicative of a lock disengaging, then faint footsteps starting to recede.
I'll let you decide whether you want to spring on him now, or wait for them to wander off.
Wednesday Daud |
Wordlessly Daud makes a slight bashing motion with the hammer while looking at Gaius expectantly.
Gaius Tindareus |
Get out here now! Gaius continues in hushed but urgent tone. He steps back to allow passage through the door, motioning to the others to stand out of view. He draws his sap, holding it behind his back.
Intimidate: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22
Wednesday Daud |
Rolling his eyes Daud will step back a few feet so that whoever exits the building will only have Gaius in his field of vision.
DM Crispy |
Gaius gives his best Christian Bale Batman impersonation, and surprisingly, you hear footsteps approaching the door. "Come on guys, you know I hate this. Just keep the money and do it yourselves, ok?" The door gets pulled inward, and a tall, sallow-looking man is standing there.
Perception: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (7) - 1 = 6
"Where's everyone else?"
Wednesday Daud |
2 people marked this as a favorite. |
That would have been friggin beautiful if you said that out loud Pyron.
Gaius Tindareus |
Since he didn't notice our deception, do I get a surprise round? Here goes...
Gaius drops the sap, stepping next to the man and grabbing him by the arm.
I told you to get out here!
free action to drop, 5 ft step, standard to initiate grapple in the surprise round.
Grapple: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 3 + 1 = 20
Assuming that hits, and triggers a rolling of initiative (unless anyone else is close enough to strike)...
initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Ugh, I'll use my Harrow Point re roll
initiative re roll: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
:-(
DM Crispy |
Pyron Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Daud Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Tolenn Initiative: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Karralo Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
You all see the man exit the building. Gaius takes the man roughly by the arm, pulling him out and maintaining the hold. The man, presumably Karralo's, eyes widen as he realizes it is not Malder grabbing him.
Round 1: Tolenn, Karralo, Daud, Pyron, Gaius
Go ahead and post your actions for the round!
Pyron Firehide |
If after everyone attacks, Pyron might either move and attack or he will use the evil eye hex, but that would depend on how well the others hit him or if he hits the others without getting hit. I check this multiple times a day, so I am not worried about posting in a reasonable amount of time once he sees what the others do before it is his actual turn.
DM Crispy |
Due to absence, Tolenn will delay.
The thug, by reflex more than anything else, attempts to pull his arm back.
CMB: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
The sallow man almost manages to wrench himself away from Gaius' grasp, but the inquisitor firms up his grip, grabbing with the other hand to reinforce it. The man, presumably Karralo, is panicked.
"Who the hell are you guys? Oh geez, oh geez!"
Gaius Tindareus |
Gaius tries to sweep the man's leg and pin him to the ground.
grapple to pin: 1d20 + 3 + 1 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 3 + 1 + 5 = 13
Shut your mouth, coward! We're not here for you, but if you wake Verik I'll cut your throat.
Bluff: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
DM Crispy |
Gaius pushes forward with his upper body while placing his right leg behind Karralo's legs. The two stumble around in a circle, but ultimately Gaius ends up on top of the man, pinning him. If possible, the man's eyes widen even further. He seems ready to respond in the affirmative, then remembers the inquisitor's claim and shuts his mouth, gulping audibly.
Tolenn |
Now that Gaius had the thug in a happy embrace on the ground, Tolenn crouches by Karralo's head and says quietly "Now that my friend has your attention....how many remain inside? "
Tolenn |
When the man nevously looks back to Tolenn, she holds his eyes with her own, appraising, judging.
Sense Motive 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Wednesday Daud |
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
"Don't need that many bodies if you've got traps." He mumbles to Gaius while studying the downed man.
Heal: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21
Does it look like he's convulsing purely out of fear or something else?
Gaius Tindareus |
What in the seven hells? Gaius backs off a step, holding the man's arm but retreating from his emptied bladder.
Let's tie him up and find Verik swiftly, he whispers, more revulsion than pity showing on his face.
Wednesday Daud |
"Agreed, keep an eye out for traps."
Grrr, give me something to hit, need to take out some frustration after the WotW results.
Pyron Firehide |
Pyron grants virtue on whomever passes through the front door first.
Wednesday Daud |
And then Daud immediately burst into flame upon Pyron's sacred spell touching him...
Pausing for a brief moment to let Pyron chant his Orison upon him Daud will then cautiously enter the room while keeping an eye out for any hostile or traps.
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29
Pyron Firehide |
He will offer the blessing to everyone else. H remembers who wanted the blessing to not be in any specific deity's name.
