Just wanted to say that I'm still here. When I noticed that Gaius was back with the group, I was having problems getting on the site again, and now I have a lot of work to do today and tomorrow. Things should be better for me Wed night/Thursday.
Okay after some searching I cannot find where I posted Daud's level 3 gains so either A) I forgot or B) the server ate it... So it was probably A. *sigh*
I give you you all permission to start whacking me with a stick whenever I forget this stuff.
Hey guys, I'm not sure if I mentioned earlier, but I'm going to Australia tomorrow! I'll be away for about 3 weeks. I'll still be posting (when I'm not flying) as best as I am able. We're kinda out of civilization there, so high-speed internet isn't as readily available. I'll see what I can do... but please bot me, Mr. Crispy, if you need at any stage to move things along.
Thankfully just a cold, but sleep has been rough. Last night was better.
So, I'd like to buy masterwork chain shirt (250) and masterwork thieve's tools (100) while selling armored coat (for half for 25). So it would be a total of 325. Is that ok? I confess I haven't been tracking our gold very well. If that's too much I can do a regular chain shirt for 150 less.
I certainly haven't been keeping track of your gold, unfortunately. I'm pretty sure you guys have at least that much...but we need to do better keeping up with it from this point forward.
Go ahead and buy it, as I am sure you have that much at the very least. I'll let Pyron, Wednesday, or Tolenn give you more in-depth knowledge of how much gold you should have (if they know).
For all - I'm not a big stickler for keeping track of things to the penny, but you are all expected to keep track of your loot and gold. If anybody wants to take on that responsibility, that's fine. If not, that is also fine. This is something that is usually not a problem at a table game, and there is ample more time and opportunity in a PbP to maintain your character (although much less supervision and push by the DM to do so). Consider this your push.
Hey guys, just a message to say "I'm still here!". I've been really enjoying myself in Australia - it's been great to catch up with all the old crowd. We're staying in a serviced apartment with a full kitchen, too, so I was able to cook my favourite: peppered kangaroo! Man, I love eating the national symbol of our country. So juicy and tender.
I've been monitoring a lot more than I've been posting, and I hope my post rate while I've been on holidays (erm, vacation) has been acceptable so far.
Regarding the treasure situation, I've only been around for the single hand out of treasure (our recent reward) which I have tracked for Zart (his personal share, minus the 100 gp expense of sending his daughter away) in my Hero Lab as a journal entry. I'd be happy to keep track of that and future rewards in a Google Spreadsheet. I'm not so happy to trawl back through the thread for past rewards (though some eager beaver certainly could do so if they wanted and add them to the sheet).
Glad to hear you're having a good time, Zart! Around this time of year, it gets a little sporadic, so you're fine. An early Merry Christmas to you! (Although it's probably Christmas Eve over there at this point, right?)
As for past treasure, that's why I neglected to mention your name...it's on those four to figure out what they have. Thanks for your offer to track things going forward.
Yes indeed, Christmas Eve today! Lots of celebrating to do with the German side of my family. Time for bratwürst, knackwürst, weisswürst, blütwürst... all the würst... on and let's not forget the leberkäse (liver cheese). Mmm.
No need for apologies at all!!! She died 8 years ago so if anyone needs to say sorry, it's me for bringing the thread down. I was just awkwardly saying that we've stopped having it because we can't replicate the goodness. Her awesome Weihnachtsbäcken on the other hand.... my wife is so good at baking. So yummy.
Hey all, I'll be flying tomorrow. No idea how I'll be going for posting, but please do assume I'm not around and bot me after 4-5 hours if you're ever waiting for me. I know it's a pain to bot a summoner, so I really will try to post when I can. The longest flight leg is 16 hours, though... so up to you.
Hey all! Back in Houston. What a flight... erm, actually 4 flights! 30 hours total travel time from my parents' house in Mildura, Victoria... with a 2 year old and a 5 year old. Certainly not the recommended way to go to Australia, but my kids were pretty cruisy considering. My 2 year old is now experiencing a time-related biological phenomenon of some kind (likely jet lag) which is why I'm posting at 1:30am!
Anyway, just wanted to say "I'm back" and posting hours have returned to normal. Yes, I appreciate the irony of saying that at 1:30am. ;-)
Gaius, you are indeed more wise than my master. I will implore him to include it in my makeup when next I evolve. Left to his own devices without guidance, he ends up giving me tentacles.
Since I don't think it's actually statted anywhere it's pretty much run the gamut of DM fiats in games I've played in, from dagger to handaxe to shortsword, etc.
I've most commonly seen cleavers ruled as improvised weapons, matched up against handaxes. Similar way to wield it and cutting surface size, but improvised because of the shorter handle and relative fragility of the blade. I don't want you to get the -4 penalty if it's your go-to weapon, though! That's just how they've been ruled by my two regular GMs during the (relatively many) kitchen fights I've gotten into in the past.
