Gopher is still guarding Terra up on the hill. I forgot he was up there, but he's in guard mode and has a readied action to attack anything that threatens her.


I remember Gopher. Since he's in Guard mode, he will wait until someone comes up to threaten Terra, and then step in with an attack.

Continuing her inspiring song, Emyralda unleashes a powerful scream that only the wounded hobgoblin she shot with her crossbow can hear.

Free action to maintain Bardic Performance (Inspire Courage), granting all allies who can hear her a +1 competence bonus to attack and damage rolls, and a +1 morale bonus to saves vs. charm and fear effects. Standard action to cast Ear-Piercing Scream at Hobgoblin 1; the scream can only be heard by the target. (Note: via Harmonic Spell feat, Emyralda does not expend a round of bardic performance this round since she is casting a spell while maintaining performance.)

Emyralda continues her inspiring song as she steps up next to the wounded hobgoblin. Striking a particularly sharp chord, the Varisian bard transforms the musical notes into a shower of piercing, crystalline shards that strike the two hobgoblins without even grazing Soth-Loren.

Free action to maintain Bardic Performance (Inspire Courage). Move action to step 10 ft to square BB,10 without provoking AoO. Standard action to defensively cast Chord of Shards; 15 ft cone should strike Hobgoblins hg1 and hg2 without striking Soth-Loren.

Emyralda frowns in consternation as the hobgoblins resist her spell, and then grimaces in pain as one of the creatures wounds her with its counterattack. The Varisian bard continues her inspiring song, however, and takes a step back to fire her loaded crossbow at the offending goblinoid.

Free action to maintain Bardic Performance (Inspire Courage). 5 ft step back to square CC,10. Standard action to fire light crossbow at Hobgoblin hg1; move action to reload.

Is it possible to tell if the hobgoblins are still being effected from the illusion? I noticed that there doesn't seem to be any concealment checks made...

Since most of the others aren't interacting with the illusion, I have them treat it as a fog cloud, which is why the archers haven't started in on it yet. Your illusion is doing something.

Never try to be in two places at once. the words of his old armsmaster echoed in his ears. That's how you loose. A soldier needs to always be ready to make the hard choice if it's the difference between victory and defeat.

"F&!* that." he growled, charging up the hill and into Terra's fog.

Darian moves into the fog to support the others. Pretty sure that's far enough that I won't be able to take an attack this round, so I'll put myself wherever is most likely to get me some AoOs.

Do I get a save against the Illusion?

It's a DC 14 Will save, and you (and Tara and Felix) get a +4 bonus to the save since Emyralda warned you about the illusion via her Message spell.

I think I'm looking at the map correctly. Soth-Loren 5 ft. adjusts between the two Hobgoblins and swings at the one attacking Esmyralda.

Soth-Loren steps between the two Hobgoblins to be on the other side of the one fighting Esmyralda and swings his blade.

Taravel's claw guts the small goblin, leaving him bleeding on the ground.
Darian charges into Terra's fog.
Darian ends up at AA13, 10' away from hg2, and next to his dog, Gopher.
Both Emyralda and Soth-Loren hit the hobgoblin, but he refuses to fall, although badly damaged.
Felix misses the goblin, and retreats.

Felix:
You can only move to R15. Look at your move (20') and the weight you are carrying! Money has weight too!

The goblins continue to swarm out of the villages.
Seeing Taravel by herself, several goblins crowd her, swinging their dogchoppers at her.

The remaining hobgoblin rider moves to cut off Taravel.

The badly wounded hobgoblin (hg1) stumbles out of the fog, and retreats.
His partner continues to attack Soth-Loren.

The two archer hobgoblins take shots at Felix.

And finally, the female hobgoblin returns to the ledge, followed by a more impressive hobgoblin, painted and befeathered, wearing a firecat pelt.

Taravel, you can get to U14. But going past the mounted hobgoblin will get you attacked, since he is waiting just for that, and has his action held to attack you as you try to pass.
She's boxed in, and might need help to get out.

There is not much Terra can do to help Taravel and if she drops the fog then Tara will have to where to retreat too, so Terra holds the fog until everyone is regrouped.

Darian snarls, seeing Tara getting boxed in and spins on his heel, heading right back down the slight lope to end with a powerful overhead strike right into the Hobgoblin's back.

Seeing Taravel's predicament, Emyralda stops singing as sights down her crossbow and fires a bolt at the mounted hobgoblin threatening her friend. The Varisian bard then reloads her crossbow with one of her few remaining bolts.

Free action to stop singing - the effects of Bardic Performance (Inspire Courage) continue for 2 more rounds due to Lingering Performance Feat. Standard action to fire light crossbow at hobgoblin rider hr1. Move action to reload.

Soth clicked his tongue at the first Hobgoblin he had managed to strike, as it retreated. He then managed to duck aside from the swing from the other Hobgoblin and struck back with his sword.

Between Darian's attack and Emyralda's crossbow bolt, the hobgoblin riders falls, leaving only the Worg left standing.
He snaps at Taravel as she retreats past (to U14).

Soth-Loren swings at the second hobgoblin and draws blood with his hit.
