Dashel gathers his senses quickly and tries to strike the Builder. I'm not sure if I'm in melee range. The last map looks like I'm 5ft away form some target.

longsword, prayer: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 8 + 1 = 12;damage: 1d8 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 4 + 1 = 12

Weakly Godlike Entity

A short step takes Dashel further into the fog, where the vast bulk of the Builder looms. Even though it seems that something that big should be impossible to miss, the priest's sword is turned aside by some unseen force.

Now that you're close enough, Dashel, you can see that Duncan's mighty blow and Ava's teeth and claws have left their marks on the creature. It seems to be clinging to life by a thread, and the ground is wet with the foul-smelling ichor that appears to serve it for blood.

Scarab Sages

Female Human Sorceress 6

Going to use all my movement to get to 26AC this round. Can I see the build from there, if not then its all my movement to get to a point where I can but am not too close.

Weakly Godlike Entity

You can indeed see the Builder from there, Lyekeli.

Scarab Sages

Female Human Sorceress 6

That was basically a double move.

Weakly Godlike Entity

Take two; here's hoping the boards don't crash partway through this one.

Updated map is HERE.

Round 6:

Initiative order:
Besmarial-acted
Builder-acted
Duncan-unconscious/Conner-
Ava-acted (confused for this round and the next)
Krolmnite-
Lyekeli-
Dashel-

The fog bank shifts position, redistributing rapidly to come between the Builder and Lyekeli while maintaining at least 5' between it and the rest of the party. In the fog, a pair of clawed tendrils lash out at Dashel and three flail at Ava; both strike the cleric, while Ava manages to evade two of them. Something in the nature of the unnatural creature affects the eidolon, though, and Ava relaxes from her martial stance and does nothing.

Dashel, take 10 HP and give me a DC 20 Will save to avoid being confused for the next 4 rounds by the impact of the Builder's alien thoughts. This round, if affected, you'll do nothing.

Conner's up next!

Dice rolls:

Grunting in pain from the clawed tendrils. His mind bombarded with unnatural thoughts.

Don't forget about the prayer, Dashel.

RD 6: Dashel

I did forget to add the +1. Excellent I made the save.

Mustering his will he attacks again, "You will claim no more souls!"

Round 6, Slayer's Target, Point Blank, Sneak Att Dam, Rapid Shot, Prayer, Erastil's Dagger

Conner fires into the fog ignoring concealment on his first shot blessed by Erastil.

I assume that True Strike means i do not need the miss chance on the first shot?

LB Att 1: 1d20 + 12 + 2 - 2 + 1 + 20 ⇒ (3) + 12 + 2 - 2 + 1 + 20 = 36
LB Dam 1: 1d8 + 4 + 2 + 1 + 2d6 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 2 + 1 + (3, 3) = 17

LB Dam 2: 1d8 + 4 + 2 + 1 + 2d6 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 2 + 1 + (4, 5) = 19

Miss Chance: 1d100 ⇒ 73

LB Att 3: 1d20 + 2 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 2 - 2 + 1 = 17
LB Dam 3: 1d8 + 4 + 2 + 1 + 2d6 ⇒ (2) + 4 + 2 + 1 + (1, 5) = 15

Miss chance: 1d100 ⇒ 68

Weakly Godlike Entity

Correct. One thing--I'd prefer it if you declared whether high=miss or low=miss when you roll, as I've seen it go either way. In this case it doesn't matter.

Ava is out of it, mind blasted by the Builder's alien thoughts, and cannot attack. But with Erastil's magic to guide it, Conner's arrow pierces the cloud surrounding the Builder and strikes home. The ectoplasmic fog shreds. All can see the Builder now, all of its myriad eyes and mouths open in a scream that echoes and reechoes inside the dark shroud. Then the dome cracks, its substance rising upward in a twisting column of fragments that tries to merge into the Dark Road as you saw it. But to no avail. Images come through the tangle of aberrant thought pouring forth from the dying Builder...far above the world, another dark sphere shatters and tries to reach downward to Golarion, its source what you instinctively realize is the Builder's other half, torn away in the cataclysm of Starfall. Bound together by ties of mind, the other half cannot survive when you slew the half on the ground, and it falls flaming from the sky.

As it burns, the main part of the Dark Road, the rift that joined the Builder to the inhabitants of Aucturn and the terrible Powers of the Dark Tapestry, ceases to be. You perceive the vast armada of creatures, the flying worms and others like the Builder as it was when it was whole, all precipitated into the void between worlds, never to threaten this Golarion again.

And the end of the Dark Road restores this Golarion-that-might-have-been to stability; the last few things out of place in it--the party--are returned to where they came from. With no particular sense of transition, you find yourselves in a tranquil forest. Nothing native to the other Golarion came with you, unfortunately; the chain, the wand of acid arrow, and everything else remained behind in its own world.

You are soon discovered by a party of elves, who inform you that you are in Kyonin, and that they would very much prefer it if you could depart as quickly as possible. However, an elven sage (wearing a badge of three interlocking circles with a spiral in the center; you recognize it as the one Gallowsmith used as a seal next to his signature) manages to get you a much warmer welcome, and eventually you are all healed and sent back to Absalom in something more like comfort.

And that's that. Congratulations, all, and thank you for playing. As for what comes next, let's take that to the Discussion thread.

Human Fighter (Soldier)/2; HP: 16/21; AC: 16 (17 Dual Wielding);Init:+2; Passive Perception 12; SW 1/1; AS 0/1

Sorry about that, based on the last posts, I assumed everyone was doing low miss.

Weakly Godlike Entity

Closing post here, just for completeness.

On their return from Kyonin, the party enters Gallowsmith's residence and finds the usual spread of food. Prester Gallowsmith rises from the mosaic in the same way as he did before and greets you warmly, his light tenor voice carrying a note of elation that had been absent the last time any of you spoke with him. "Besmarial?" In response, the Cassissian angel who had accompanied you on your mission flits over and into the column of mosaic tiles in Gallowsmith's form, which flies apart into a cloud of separate tiles. After a moment, it reforms into Gallowsmith. "Ah. That was quite the adventure, wasn't it? I am pleased that you all came through so well. Your success has changed the face of the pattern of rifts, and many have vanished. As you may have noticed, the Great Rift over Absalom has partially closed, so it is no longer quite so unbearably hot here. And that is merely the most obvious of the changes you have brought about.

"But the great work continues, and while you were gone something changed here: an adversary--someone working to forestall our efforts--has been revealed. I was attacked here while distracted with the challenge of returning your companion Xavier's body; at first I thought that it was a coincidence, but many of my counterparts in other Golarions were beset at the same time. The attackers were simple mercenaries, hired for a few coins on the streets of Absalom by someone unusual in his complete unremarkability. I continue to investigate, and I have configured my plan to include defense of some of the more critical anchors. Lyekeli, I shall need you, Krolmnite, and Ava to journey to Osirion and join a party of investigators there. Duncan--I have been told there is a message for you, if you will but listen."

The gruff dwarf breathes deeply in the silence following Gallowsmith's words. His eyes widen in awe, staring away at nothing in particular. "Thank ye, lord. Thank ye!" He clears his throat and looks around at the rest of you, eyes moist. "I'm going home! It's been an honor t'fight at your sides. I'll not likely see you again--may Angradd's blessing go with all of you." He turns and walks out, head held high and an unaccustomed smile on his face.

And as for the fate of the other characters, that awaits in Part II: The Short Watch.
