As the myriad potential Golarions collide, a small group of heroes is charged with setting things right.

Xavier just limbers up. He looks at Sammy.
Are you ready my friend? We should ready ourselves to attack, should they charge, then try to flank one.

Protection from evil in stats

Weakly Godlike Entity

At the end of the second round, everyone can see a trio of lean grey shapes heading in your direction, running close to the ground. At this distance, they look like wolves. Then the first one howls, its cry filled with peculiar fluting overtones that don't sound all that wolflike, and Rashun notices an oily iridescent sheen to their coats.

Initiative order:
Eretria
Besmarial
Xavier
Sami/Wolves
Darc/Rashun

At the top of Round 3, they are 100 feet away from the nearest party members (Sami and Xavier, unless anyone else wanted to move up to stand near them).

Dice rolls:

Xavier twirls his blade in anticipation.

Sami grins and stands next to Xavier as they watch the creatures come. He goves a quick shake of his head at the thought of leaving. No. If we leave them, they'll find other prey...undoubtedly some less able than us to defend themselves..

Male Human (Focused Study alt trait) Wild Stalker 1, AC18/T12/FF 16, HP 12/12, F4/R4/W2+2 vs mind effecting

Xavier smiles at the response.
Ha! I do like you, friend. Let's cheat death together!

Xavier sets his feet and readies an attack against any enemy that comes within reach.

Male Human Ranger 1/Inquisitor 4 HP: 38/42

Darc watches the creatures intently as he moves alongside Rashun.

Weakly Godlike Entity

Darc, although the creatures look superficially like worgs, they don't move quite right, their coloration (as noted) is wrong, and they don't sound right either. They look familiar, though; you caught a glimpse of two others like that with the aberrant oracle, when the rest of the original party went down.

Rashun, Knowledge (Dungeoneering) is needed. It's not too much of a spoiler to say that they're aberrations.

Male Human (Focused Study alt trait) Wild Stalker 1, AC18/T12/FF 16, HP 12/12, F4/R4/W2+2 vs mind effecting

Knowledge: Dungeoneering1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Xavier is sure he might have seen or heard about something like these. Were they vulnerable to his weapons?

Weakly Godlike Entity

Actually, Xavier, you're quite sure you've *never* heard of anything like these before; the closest thing you can think of is that it may be some sort of mimic, but one that takes the shape of a normal creature.

ETA: No, strike that last. There are disturbing rumors you've heard, of...things of the Dark Tapestry, that somehow are able to take on the form of a natural creature. They can return to their true forms at will, though, and the sight of that form is enough to weaken even the strongest arm.

Male Human (Focused Study alt trait) Wild Stalker 1, AC18/T12/FF 16, HP 12/12, F4/R4/W2+2 vs mind effecting

Xavier curses his weakness for study, he remembers a rumor though,
There's a legend I heard of Shapechangers, from another place, that disguise themselvesbas.cretures of this world. If these are it we should write down how they are killed when.we are done!

Sami offers a quick nod, then sits deaper into his stance, readying himself to deliver his newest attack, should anything come within range.

Round 3:

Map as of the top of the round is HERE.

Initiative order:

Eretria-cast magic missile at worg #1 (Wa).
Besmarial-awaited their approach
Xavier-awaited their approach
Sami/Wolves-acted
Darc/Rashun-up

At their action, worg #3 (Wc) charges Rashun, the other two lagging just behind. Before they impact, Sami unleashes his dragon roar ability on all three; the first one is not significantly impacted, but the trailing two take the full effect of the roar. Sami, roll your damage. With preternatural accuracy, the first worg on Rashun bites him and knocks him to the ground, where the other two savage him with their slavering jaws despite their terror. Rashun, take 32 HP.

Darc and Xavier, you're able to attack Wa and Wb, respectively, at this point. (Xavier, your attacks are essentially simultaneous with Wb's.)

Dice rolls:
Wc to hit Rashun: 1d20 + 9 + 20 ⇒ (18) + 9 + 20 = 47
Wc trip attempt: 1d20 + 9 + 20 ⇒ (8) + 9 + 20 = 37

The Simitar strike is mighty indeed, slashing deep into the worg's shoulder, possibly hitting an artery, but the power thrown into the strike has him off balance and his cestus misses.

Waiting until Sami rolls damage for his dragon roar; it may be enough so that Xavier's crit will put one of them down.

Round 3 (final):

The concussion of ki hammers the two trailing worgs; although they pull themselves together enough to take advantage of Rashun's position, their exultation is short-lived as Xavier's scimitar finishes one of the trio off in a gout of black, tarry blood. Xavier, you noticed that the creature's flesh offered slightly more resistance to your blow than you would have expected. Also, not that it mattered, but from your initial position you couldn't get a flank with only a 5' step.

Updated map is HERE.

Round 4:

Eretria
Besmarial
Xavier
Sami/Wolves
Darc/Rashun

Osirion

Weakly Godlike Entity

OK, that's weird; burning arc isn't on the d20PFSRD list of all Paizo spells HERE (where I would expect it to be). I had to drill down through the overall magic page, then to the sorcerer/wizard list by level. Sorry I missed it.

One other thing--what did Rashun do at the end of the round? I missed his action.

Male Human Ranger 1/Inquisitor 4 HP: 38/42

I was waiting to see what the wolves were going to do, and to see how many would be alive.

I will attack Wc while prone.

Attack:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

Damage:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23

edit: The dice gods have surely abandoned me.

Weakly Godlike Entity

I sympathize; I have a cleric who's a decent combatant--on paper, at least (3rd level, 16 STR), and I've hit maybe twice in three levels.

Weakly Godlike Entity

Xavier, which square are you stepping to? As I read the map, you have three choices, Q26, -27, and -28.

Eretria, the flames quench as they touch their targets, and do not appear to do any damage.

Round 4 (cont'd):

Xavier and Sami are able to severely wound Wc, but it's still in there swinging. At its action, Besmarial drops to touch Rashun and casts aid on him. Rashun, add 10 temporary HP.

The two monsters keep snapping at the prone inquisitor. One's jaws are deflected at the last instant by Rashun's protective spell, but the other one latches onto the hapless Taldan with bonecrushing force. Take 12 HP, Rashun. The GM giveth, and the GM taketh away.

Darc and Rashun, you're up.

Dice rolls:
Temporary HP for Rashun: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Wa to hit on Rashun: 1d20 + 9 - 2 ⇒ (18) + 9 - 2 = 25

Round 4 (final):

Rashun misses one of the two worgs facing him, but Darc has greater success. His flail spins through a tight circle, humming like a great bullroarer, before impacting the creature's skull with an oddly muted *crack* of breaking bone. The thing goes down in a heap, twitches once, and is still.

Round 5:

Updated map is HERE.

Initiative order:

Eretria
Besmarial
Xavier
Sami/Wolf
Darc/Rashun

Eretria, you're up.

The Scimitar again, strikes home hard, overbalancing on the cestus, which misses. But the hit with the scimitar is wicked.

Round 5 (cont'd):

Three darts of arcane power fly from Eretria's outstretched hand to the last of the unnatural worgs, and this time there is no resistance to their impact. The creature rocks back, in time to meet Xavier's flashing scimitar. Its innate physical toughness stops just enough of the blow that it is staggered, not dying, but one more hit will be enough to do it in.

Sami, you're up.
