Yes I was in a PFS scenario where we had to unlock three chests so we could obtain some information. Inside one of the chests was a book written on how to bind devils, but the man who hired us sent an ogre to make sure we didn't steal anything. Thank the gods that our bard had about a +15 to bluff or I would have been going toe-to-toe with an ogre as a 7 STR wizard.
Ah, I got you confused with a friend who has a similar alias. I haven't played an arcane trickster before and wanted to try my hand at it, and I thought a quick dip into the assassin PrC would be pretty cool. But there's that pesky "any evil" requirement. So if you would allow it, I would definitely go with LE. He/she would do contracted killings, but isn't a homicidal maniac or anything. He/she has no long term truly evil plans like killing a king or taking over the world, they would just be a person who is ok with killing for a living. Don't have the details worked out on the background, just brainstorming right now.

Alternatively I know of many DM's who simply lift the "any evil" prerequisite since they like the class but really don't want to deal with an evil party member.
