Now that I think about it he did use a map for the most complex fight we've had; we were at a meeting in the town hall when it started on fire, and we had to evacuate the townsfolk and put out the fire square by square. He didn't use maps when we were just fighting a couple of burning skeletons, though.

Please bot Darc if you need to.
My computer motherboard has gone to that great motherboard in the sky.
Thus I may or may not have access to a computer that will allow me to post.
Cheers,

Sorry, been hit by man 'flu this week, since returning from last weekend away at CrispyCon. I did leave a note on my main profile 'Deevor', if I haven't left you a note to say what's happening. Will be back with you tomorrow, 23rd.

I have not logged into the site for over a week, and I don't think its fair to the group. I may or may not ask to come back, but I do know that right now I should not be here, and it is better if I replaced.
It is not an issue with the campaign. I will probably check in from time to time to just to read the post.
The same messages is going to my other pbp groups also.

OK. We're at a reasonable breakpoint, which makes this as good a time as any to talk. Two of the five of you have had to pull out. I understand; RL has to come first, and both concerro and STR Ranger were considerate enough to let us know instead of just walking away, which puts them head and shoulders above some GMs I've had on the boards here. However, that leaves the party with a serious lack of depth. Darc and Sami are pretty decent combat monsters, esp. when Darc's given time to buff, and Eretria can put out respectable damage herself. But you're fragile...it's a lot more likely that three people will all miss their saves than that five will, and with things like the seugathi madness aura and the moonflower's flare that can make all the difference in the world.
Now, the course of the campaign from here isn't set in stone by any means. I have a good handle on the endgame and some more ideas about what happens between here and there, but it's fluid enough that I could rejigger things so that you wouldn't need anyone else. Or we can try to recruit some replacements...you could put the word out in other games, I can do likewise, and/or do a recruitment post. For completeness' sake, I'll also mention that we could shut it down here. I'm still wanting to keep going, though.
Thoughts?
Sami Johoro |
I'd much rather keep it going; having a great time of it! I've already mentioned this spot in another game with high-caliber players...I'd say that if we get in someone we can trust, then we continue as is, but if we have to go back out to the recruitment process instead, then perhaps we should just rejigger. I just would hate to see you go through the process then pick up someone who subsequently ditches on us.

Ready to carry on, with the Xmas break, it would be sensible to try and recruit during this period and get ready to ramp up again in the new year.
Whilst we're about it...
Happy Christmas everyone.

Thanks, and same to you. I'm going to wait to hear from Eretria, as the player had a power outage to deal with. In the meantime, though, I'd appreciate it if you could mention the need for replacement players in the campaigns you're playing in currently. Have anyone interested PM me.

I didn't introduce myself, John recruited me from a game he is playing in.
I'm a switch-hitter ranger with a leopard companion. Have been a defender of a small community on a trade route, called away by some strange fellow.
It's a pleasure to be joining the game.

Thanks Darc,
El was originally a half-celestial but that would put her way over the curve with the rest of you. She lost her wings because of the rifts.
So, she's got some pretty unusual backstory anyway.
She's a range through and through though: might be tempted to go Brightness Seeker eventually but that's about it.

Hi sorry I've not replied in a while, been a little railed recently and thinking over a character concept.
Battling over "what fits the group" or just to go with what I'd enjoy. Have to admit, I don't feel anything for my bard but here's my summoner. I'm currently editing him in Herolab and should have him up tomorrow when my better half is back home.
The backstory can remain unchanged if you wish, I'll have to add the new amount of GP and equipment so it shouldn't take too long.
edit: oh, how do you calculate HP after 1st? averagge or roll?
Krolmnite Underhill |
Not sure I understand what you mean by the rolls there? Roll that and then add Con?
Bit unusual, but at the same time I can see the many benefits from avoiding someone rolling a 1 and messing up their character hp values, especially if they're a barbarian or Fighter.
Krols levels:
2nd: 1d3 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
3rd: 1d3 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
4th: 1d3 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Ava's HD:
2nd: 1d4 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
3rd: 1d4 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
lol I somehow have more HP than my Eidolon. Think I might give her toughness or something. So many feats that could be good. Light armour prof so get her light armour, toughness to add a few more hps, Dodge to increase her AC or power attack to get some extra damage in. Since she has 4 attacks to make, the extra damage would be very nice.
Any suggestions?
Krolmnite Underhill |
kk, will be checking the gamethread. For the moment I just finished the character, which was difficulty considering and just threw most of the cash at random non-magic gear.

Eidolon:
Ava appears like a azata which has a beautiful female body combined with scaled and lizard-like arms, legs and neck area. Her hands appear to be claws and though she appears human, her teeth have fangs which she can bite with. The tail keeps her momentum and can be used as a deadly weapon in combat. She wears a simple robe to cover up the humanoid nakedness as unlike her realm, people frown upon nudity in this world and to keep her origin somewhat covered.
