DM Carbide |
It doesn't matter; skellies have 4 HP each.
Round 1 (ongoing):

Skeletons-acted
Kali-acted
Senja
Kragnor-acted
Asvald-acted
Eva-acted
Melody-acted
Melody's lightning sends bits of bone flying, but her target is still in the fight. Eva lands a hammer strike on the top of the adjacent skeleton's head hard enough that its skull ends up in its pelvis. It falls to the floor. Senja?
Senja Kala |
Sorry for delay, just recovering from the long trip home.
Senja takes a step away from the skeleton nearest him, then hastily tosses a net of shadow over it, tangling it in ill luck.
5-foot step, then Misfortune hex on red-dotted skelly. DC 15 to resist.
DM Carbide |
The net of shadow slides off of the skeleton without inconveniencing it.
Round 2:
Initiative order
Skeletons-acted
Kali
Senja
Kragnor
Asvald
Eva
Melody
With a clatter of bones, the skeletons close with the party. A largely futile fusillade of claws later, Kali takes another scratch. Kali, another 4 HP.
Party up!
Claw to Kali: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
Claw to Kali: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Claw to Kragnor, incl. flanking: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
Claw to Kragnor, incl. flanking: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Claw to Kragnor: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
Claw to Kragnor: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Claw to Eva: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Claw to Melody: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
Claw damage to Kali: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Eva Baldursdóttir |
Eva swings at the next skeleton with a powerful elbow-strike.
Flurry: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
Bludgeoning Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Flurry: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Bludgeoning Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Senja Kala |
Senja once again steps away from the skeleton near him. Seeing that this puts him closer to a different one, he casts a shadowy net of misfortune on it.
5-foot, then misfortune hex on one with orange dot. DC 15.
Carbide - I'm confused about the red dot one. He's in a completely different place than he was (and his dot moved!), not sure if you mixed up which one had the dot on it or if he actually moved that much. I was going to use the dots to mark which ones I had misfortuned, since I can only do it once to a given target each day.
DM Carbide |
Sorry; since you'd made the dot I used it to mark the one that Melody had wounded.
Eva's first blow takes down the skeleton.
DM Carbide |
5' step only, since you flurried.
Eva Baldursdóttir |
If you only get off one attack of a full-attack action (or only choose to make one), you can still move. A flurry is just a special full-attack action.
DM Carbide |
Thought you had to declare what you were doing before making the attack. Do you know if that applies to iterative attacks, if the first blow takes down the target?
Eva Baldursdóttir |
From Full Attack:
Deciding between an Attack or a Full Attack
After your first attack, you can decide to take a move action instead of making your remaining attacks, depending on how the first attack turns out and assuming you have not already taken a move action this round.
Melody Flaxseed |
Finding herself surrounded by undead, Melody holds her holy symbol out and calls to Shelyn for help!
channel to harm undead: 1d6 ⇒ 3
DC 15 Will for half
Kali Starr |
Concerned about her survival with all the skeletons around, Kali concentrates for the briefest of moments and disappears from view. While obscured she moves away from the mass of skeletons to recollect herself and drop her human façade.
Swift Action: Spent 1 Ki to use Vanishing Trick. Move action: Move 25' north. Standard Action: Revert to Kitsune form. I altered the transparency of her icon to represent the invisibility.
3/5 Ki points remaining for day
Kragnor Stonebreaker |
Kragnor steps south and swings his hammer at a skeleton.
Attack, FE: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 4 + 2 = 24
Damage: 1d12 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 3 + 2 = 14
Cannot edit map atm. Step south and attack the one to the west.
DM Carbide |
Learn something new every day...thanks for pointing that out, Oladon.
Round 2 (ongoing):
Initiative order
Skeletons-acted
Kali-acted
Senja-acted
Kragnor-acted
Asvald
Eva-acted
Melody-acted
Eva and Kragnor easily take down their skeletal foes (which includes the one Senja just cast misfortune on, I'm afraid). Melody's channeled energy drops the one she'd already wounded and damages the other two.
Asvald, over to you!
DC15 Will save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Asvald Bjornson |
Asvald continues his chant, pausing only long enough to bark Eva some extra encouragement.
Oratory: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Unfortunately it's not quite encouraging enough.
Continue inspire rage.
DM Carbide |
Round 3:
Asvald continues his raging song.
Initiative order
Skeletons-acted
Kali
Senja
Kragnor
Asvald
Eva
Melody
The two remaining skeletons advance on Kragnor and flail away at the dwarf to no effect.
At this point, one of them is down to 1 HP and the other is down to 3 HP. I'm going to call it here; you easily clear the floor. Out of combat!
The horn is a horn of fog.
Claw to Kragnor: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Claw to Kragnor: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
Claw to Kragnor: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Eva Baldursdóttir |
Eva nods once at her companions' efficiency, then moves quickly among the sarcophagi checking for anything else of interest. That done, she tilts her head toward the next door. "Shall we continue?" she asks.
Everybody okay on health?
Kali Starr |
After taking a moment to return to her human guise, Kali reveals herself once again and glumly observes "Those skeletons had some nasty claws."
Sitting around half HP
Senja Kala |
Senja is fortunately unharmed, and he concurs with Eva's suggestion, "Yes, there was another door off the last room we were in, though let's keep an eye out for the spider we saw there."
Melody Flaxseed |
Melody offers up her wand to use on Kali.
As always, to make things go faster go ahead and roll your own healing. I will mark it off.
Kali Starr |
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
1 charge used on Melody's CLW wand
"Thanks Melody!" Kali says with gratitude as most of her wounds are healed by the cleric's wand, "I'm good to go forward, let's check out the door Senja mentioned. Kragnor, please take point."
Kragnor Stonebreaker |
Kragnor grunts in acknowledgement, and moves back into the southern chamber, then examines the eastern door.
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20
DM Carbide |
You detect nothing out of the ordinary on the door, except that it's locked.
Kali Starr |
Kali pulls out her thieves' tools and gets to work unlocking the door.
Disable Device: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
If that doesn't do it, she'll take 10, then take 20 unless Kragnor jumps in on it first.
Once the door is unlocked, she moves back to let someone else take point, explaining, "I'm getting tired of almost dying."
DM Carbide |
I feel obligated to point out that you found a key on the skeleton out in the hall.
-Posted with Wayfinder
DM Carbide |
The key fits the lock on the door, and Kali is able to open it. After verifying that it's indeed unlocked, she steps back and lets someone with better armor go first.
DM Carbide |
Is Eva going to bravely step up and tell Asvald to go first?
Eva Baldursdóttir |
Eva glances around at the others and takes the lead, her eyes narrowing only slightly as she wonders about their reticence to enter.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12 (And low-light vision, if it matters)
DM Carbide |
As with most of the other rooms, this chamber is dimly lit (well enough for Eva to see). The walls are sparsely covered with wisps of spider web, and the ceiling rather more thickly covered, with dusty webs almost hiding what looks like a grid of wooden beams and plaster about fifteen feet above the floor. There is a desiccated and largely dismembered giant spider corpse in the northeast corner of the room (not shown), and in the southwest corner of the room is a stout, freestanding wooden wardrobe*. Eva can hear faint moans and plaintive sobbing coming from the wardrobe.
*Don't worry; I'm sure the author of this part of the module had never read _Hogfather_.
Kragnor Stonebreaker |
"What in the Nine Hells is that noise!?" Kragnor says, pointing.
Kali Starr |
Kali taps her foot with impatience, obviously wanting to join Eva in the room, but also clearly wishing to avoid triggering any undetected death traps, "Everything ok in there?"
DM Carbide |
The noise from the closet continues.
Kragnor Stonebreaker |
Kragnor waits for everyone to get into position, them throws open the closet door.
DM Carbide |
Please put yourselves on the map.
DM Carbide |
Kragnor, as soon as you touch the closet the sounds stop, and the closet falls to pieces. Inside is an emaciated-looking humanoid in tattered clothes; the obvious stench of decay about it, though, indicates that it is not exactly alive. As the closet comes apart, the floor under Eva and Kali clicks ominously.
Round 1:
Initiative order
Foes-acted
Kali
Senja
Kragnor
Eva
Asvald
Melody
Melody, Senja, and Asvald: The trap door you spotted in the dead end falls open and the spider comes up.
Eva and Kali: With a crash, a pair of weighted nets fall through the false ceiling above you, enmeshing you. Eva, take 1 HP; Kali, take 3 HP. You are both grappled.
Kragnor: Moving with unnatural speed, the walking corpse launches itself at you before you have a chance to react, its fists flailing. One bounces off of your armor, while the other one hits you solidly for 8 HP.
Party up!
Touch attack on Eva: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26

Slam damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Kragnor Stonebreaker |
"Rawr! Get the devil!" Kragnor roars as he steps back and swings his lucerne hammer at the undead!
Power Attack, FE: 1d20 + 4 - 1 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 4 - 1 + 2 = 19
Damage: 1d12 + 3 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 3 + 2 = 9 Bludgeoning, unless someone tells him different.
Eva Baldursdóttir |
Grappled, not entangled?
Eva grunts as the net comes crashing down on her, pausing only a moment before trying to tear her way free.
Strength?: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12 If I can use CMB, add 1... and if it counts as a CMB to grapple, add 3.
Kali Starr |
LOLOL
"Ah man, not again..." The ninja laments as she tries to escape the nets.
Escape Artist: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
Asvald Bjornson |
Asvald levels his weapon at the spider and begins his rousing chant.
Inspire Rage.
Is this a normal spider or another freaky mist-spider?
Senja Kala |
Senja steps into the room to see what is going on, and tries to figure out what the decaying figure is.
Knowledge (religion) : 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
He's got no idea what it is, but he tries to stop it nonetheless, conjuring up a handful of small pellets of shadow and tossing them at the undead thing's feet.
Move to top left corner of the room (which is where I had in mind when I wanted to move behind Asvald last turn), then Misfortune hex, DC 15 Will save.
