Jokum of the Breakbones |
None of us are paladins, so it doesn't really function well...I think Ce-Eshna was considering taking a level in paladin, but for the moment we gave it "back" to Irabeth.
Jokum of the Breakbones |
It's a shame that the others have disappeared...Pollux and Ce-Eshna seemed like they were with us right up to the end, there. I think Xaivan actually elected to leave when Striker retired (he'd been looking for a good point), and Tess had been having difficulty. But not sure what happened with the others.
I am still here, though it may be difficult to recruit people into such a story-heavy game.
Ce-Eshna Lightfoot |
I'm still here! apologies for my long absence, life is getting into the habit of kicking me in the pants.
I was considering a dip to Divine Hunter if it was agreeable to the group for the purposes of using it "if" it could take the form of a scimitar and the GM would allow a Chaotic paladin of Sarenrae but I'm not going to cry if it isn't
Karthak Ironbreaker |
Ok we 3 are here, we need at least other 2 people, xavian is not coming back, Pollux asked for some time but it has been quite a long wait, Tess has been MIA for some time now.
I think we have better to recruit some other people and move along, otherwise the game will soon die on its own.
P.S.
As for chaotic paladins I don't like it, sorry Ce-Eshna, if we start to mess with basic rules we'll never see the end of it, I'm sure the AP is full of items that are as good or better than that longsword, and we could find someone willing to play a paladin who could make use a better of it.
DM-Camris |
Welcome back Ce-Eshna!
Radiance can shift it's substance to form itself into the Paladin's deity's favored weapon, if said paladin desires it. Sorry, paladin only. Anyone else handling it only has a +1 longsword (though pretty).
Also, Paladins are Lawful and Good. If you want to pursue the concept, the WarPriest is a decent substitute if you build it right.
Arthas Sword of Ragathiel |
I am on the west coast of the US, what time zone are you all posting in? I am looking forward to trying out playing a paladin. I am guessing that Arthas is one of the lucky survivors left on the surface or something?
DM-Camris |
(Oh thank god.)
Everyone, Arthas is a player I have invited directly, as we shared an epic adventure that has apparently died.
I am UTC -8:00, on the pacific coast of the US.
Arthas: You are currently in the city of Kenabres, which has been overrun by the demon hordes of the Worldwound. The demon armies have moved on, leaving the city in a kind of mad max world. You are a fortunate survivor of the battle now holed up in an old stone inn (The Defenders Heart), now the headquarters of the resistance.
You are in a meeting. You are being detailed by your boss, Commander Irabeth to go with a small team (our heroes) to raid a suspected traitors safe house.
On a sideboard, you see a fancy darkwood case, now open, and an ordinary looking longsword with an odd gold colored blade. Something about it draws your eyes...
Karthak Ironbreaker |
Welcome Arthas, I hope you'll have fun with this game! It has been pretty good thus far until unfortunate circumstances decimated our group.
As for my time zone it's UTC +1.00, from Europe
Arthas Sword of Ragathiel |
ProfessionalCalvinball Suggested a wizard, I would like to see that. Also Arwen offered a solid ranger if ours is missing.
I also know a reliable halfling rogue if we need one. Strong poster.
And Voren the Outsider is a witch/healer I know from another game that went dormant. I asked him to post in recruitment.
But I just joined and should not get a full vote in my mind.
Jokum of the Breakbones |
Personally, I like the look of Silya Massi; I like the fact that she's not a typical resident of Kenabres, and I do like having groups that aren't exclusively male (even if the player is male). There's a wide, wide variety of paladins to choose from, though I feel that Arthas has that role locked down pretty well. I do like the looks of Voren and Raziel, as well as Xantrius (though, again, paladin). Sylas is an intriguing character proposition, though he didn't give us much of a sense about how he'd be posting/storytelling.
Those are my thoughts for now! If pushed, I would say that Raziel and Silya probably fit the combination of needed roles and personal appeal to me best. But I'll bow to the wisdom of others. :)
Arthas Sword of Ragathiel |
i can attest that Voren's character is very interesting. He is well played and a strong poster. I was sceptical of how well a witch could be a healer and of how a tiefling would work out but he does. Voren was in a great group that got derailed when the DM just disappeared.
He has a spiritual advisor that is a grandmotherly scorpion that adds the female flavor you like Jokum:
I would like a wizard to join up. And we need a rogue type too right for traps and such? I think 5-6 players is a good mix for the game.
DM-Camris |
Ce-Eshna and Karthak, do you have a silver scale of Terendelev? I don't see it on your character profile.
1d100 ⇒ 94
You have a palm sized glittering Silver Scale of Terendelev (Sacred Weaponry), which you found somehow after her fall at Kenabres' assault. You can feel emotional echos of sadness and iron determination when you touch it, and it grants you the ability to Align Weapon (as the spell) three times a day; only good or lawful, and unlike the spell you can use it on natural or unarmed attacks. (minor artifact)
Karthak Ironbreaker |
Yes I do. It was in my private notes
Silya Massi |
Glad to be here! I'll get Silya's stats all up to date tonight. I may be a touch spotty for posting over the next few days due to the holiday (plus work on Christmas Eve and Christmas day), but I should still be able to manage a post or two per day.
Voren the Outsider |
Hey, sorry I got here slowly. Thank you for accepting me into the game. Voren's up to date. I would like to know a few things.
First, what silver dragon scales do the new players get? Is it decided by random?
Also, it seems three new players have joined. Does this mean Ce-Eshna is gone as well?
Finally, I'm rather curious as to how our GM will introduce us into the campaign.
Also, hi, Norv. Hi, darksmokepuncher. Hi, Goblin.
EDIT: I'm also rather curious if there would be any chances to build character rp moments, like romance. Is that what the flex time thread is for?
Arthas Sword of Ragathiel |
Hey Voren,
I've never played this AP, I just read your old thread under Alice. So I don't know what happens after you meet the mongrel men. Anyway, we are in the old inn which is now the last stronghold for the organized resistance in the city. The returning members of the underground crawl are Karthak, Jokum, and Ce-eshna.
They just walked in. Read the last two pages of game play and it helps you get caught up. I think the DM was waiting to get recruitment done before going forward. If you want to jump in and do some healing it would be great. I just did a little lay on hands.
If we get come inter player talk going it would help get the characters down.
Jokum of the Breakbones |
Hi tieflingwizard! Didn't realize that was you during recruitment (I'm terrible at tracking players to aliases). :)
Voren the Outsider |
Hello, everyone. Want to wish everyone a happy holidays!
Voren the Outsider |
I'll get a post in on xmas day. Sorry for holding things up.
DM-Camris |
To answer Voren...
First, what silver dragon scales do the new players get? Is it decided by random?
It's random, but I bend chance to get as many different scales in the player characters hands as possible.
Also, it seems three new players have joined. Does this mean Ce-Eshna is gone as well?
I don't know if she's still in or not; I always pick one more than necessary due to probable player dropouts.
Finally, I'm rather curious as to how our GM will introduce us into the campaign.
It's easy at this point, as the Defender's Heart Inn is the last redoubt of organized resistance to the demonic invasion left in Kenabres proper. A lot of refugees are here; people running around without name badges... Easy enough to just say that you got swept up in the fight and ended up here minus a few hit points.
The ONE thing ALL the player characters have is posession of one of the Scales of Terendelev. You received/took/stumbled over/were hit by/ one of them, and so are fated. New players should have a sentence on how they ended up with one on their person.I'm also rather curious if there would be any chances to build character rp moments, like romance. Is that what the flex time thread is for?
There are some chances for RP moments like romance; perhaps fewer than normal due to you always traveling/in battles/behind enemy lines/on another plane/etc.
Not sure what that flex time thread is for, it was here before I came on the scene.Voren the Outsider |
Okay. Thank you for answering my questions. Also, looking at the campaign tab, I couldn't help but notice that Aravashnial was indifferent. Guess it shows the differences in groups because in my old campaign, he was made friendly.
