Ibrahim draws a vial of alchemical fire from a pouch at his belt but delays throwing the caustic liquid until his allies are free.
There is a whumph and a burst of fire. A hole appears in the swarm, and there is definite damage to the swarm.

Ra lashed about with his axe, but does no real damage to the swarm.

Max quickly tumbled, rolled and cartwheeled out of the area covered by the swarm of scarabs.

Inferis took a cautious step back and flung an Acid Splash at the swarm.
Ranged touch: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18 for 1d3 ⇒ 1 acid damage.

The swarm hesitated as Ra brought his shield up and around, but flowed over him anyway.

Ibrahim's stomach churns from the swarm of insects crawling and biting him. He has felt this sensation before and he is almost certain that he will feel it again. He manages to stave of the nausea.

Ibrahim retreats to G5 and retrieved another vial of alchemist fire. Tossing the vial into the swarm 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18 for: 1d6 ⇒ 1

"I have more than enough of these to dispatch this swarm, but remind me to restock before our next exploration!"


All you who have thrown bottles of Acid or Alchemists' Fire, remember that you get another die of damage on the subsequent round.

Seeing Ra getting overwhelmed by the vermin and unable to do anything about it, Cerastes moves up to him and hisses a prayer, "Be strong my friend, I am with you."

Cerastes tries to bat at the vermin in an attempt to keep them from getting anywhere too vital and gets out of the swarm the best he can.
Cerastes is distracted this round and will move back to F7.

Inferis moves up and shouts, "Cerastes and Ra! Get out of there!"

When his allies are clear Ibrahim throws another vial of alchemist fire into the swarm of scarabs. "Begone vermin may you return as a more worthy opponent in your future lives!

And with that, the swarm breaks. The remainder of the beetles scatter under the nearest cracks and hidden crevices.


Whoever goes into the dark hole of the Granary...:

The granary holds three fleshless human skeletons and an adamantine heavy flail.
The weapon is filthy but perfectly usable.


Max:

[npc] Max carefully entered the granary and later emerged holding an adamantine mace.
"Nothing else in there but a few long dead skeletons." He reported.


OK guys, the only place in the courtyard you have not yet checked is the small building directly to the West of the Granary.
What do you do?

Cerastes looks to Ra, "Do you have a use for the flail? If not, I have been trained with their use." He puts his big hand on Ibrahim's shoulder, "Perhaps we should see to the wounded first before continuing."

Think we need to heal up before continuing. Not sure how much everyone needs but I would say just roll the CLW wand for yourself and we'll add up charges once we are done.

CLW wand on Cerastes: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7 Back to full.

Inferis gets behind her companions, "I have a slight scratch but it is not life threatening. See to your own wounds if you need to before we begin."

Ra accepts one cure light. Cure Light: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
His pain eased, Ra nodded.
"Ready." He simply stated.


Max:

Cautiously, Max scouted ahead by stepping into the next door.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14


When your eyes adjust, you can see that this small room is empty save for dust, debris, and empty shelves built into the walls. The few remaining mummified scraps indicate that the shelves in this pantry once stored dry goods and vegetables for the house.

Unfortunately, Max isn't careful enough, as a tan creature looking like a large (well, for them, this one is two feet long) ten legged spider with oversized jaws and beady eyes drops on him from the ceiling!
Bite: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 Miss.
Claw 1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23 Hit! for 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 piercing damage.
Claw 2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24 Hit! for 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 piercing damage.
...Crit confirm?: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15 Not confirmed.

Knowledge:Nature DC13:
This creature is a Giant variety of Solifugid; also known as Camel Spiders, Wind Scorpions and Sun Spiders (even though they aren't actually either spiders nor scorpions...). They live mostly out in the desert wastes.
They are fast, climb real good, see in the dark and are immune to mental effects. No poison though.

We must dispatch it so it may return to a form anew if we are to search this room. "

With no other options, Ibrahim loads and fires his sling around his comrades and through the doorway
With amazing skill, he struck the creature for damage!

Ra, rolled in through the doorway next to Max, then he lashed out at the bug.
But he missed.

Max turned and lashed out at the creature, managing to hit it lightly.

He goes over to the stairway and plumps down, too distracted to go searching.

You come around to the front of the ancient mansion, the sun high in the sky, the silence unnatural.

THE FOYER OVERVIEW

Whoever steps through the front door sees brightly colored columns stand in the four corners of this foyer.
Hieroglyphs cover the walls and tiled floors, obscured in places by piles of dust and sand. Your footprints are still present.
The scattered bones of the skeleton guards still lay where you shattered them.

Open archways lead to the north, east, and west, while a set of stone double doors exit to the south (where you entered).

Language:Ancient Osiriani:

The Ancient Osiriani hieroglyphs on the walls proclaim
this estate to be the House of Pentheru, and convey a
variety of different messages, such as “Welcome to all
guests,” invocations to the gods to bless all who enter here,
and the like.

Cerastes studies the hieroglyphics intently for a minute, "This place is the House of Pentheru." He points to several, "These mean we are welcome and to be blessed by the gods." After studying the hieroglyphics he looks through the eastern archway.


CHAMBER OVERVIEW

A large tiled pool sits in the center of this chamber, surrounded by sloping tiled floors.
A few steps descend into the basin, which has accumulated a deep layer of sand on its bottom.
Faded murals on the walls depict scenes of life along a river, with recurring themes of running water and aquatic life running through the artwork.
In the northeast corner, a tarnished bronze spigot juts from the wall just above head level.
Archways lead north and west (where you just entered from), and a stone door stands in the eastern wall.

Pause for a moment to see if anything lurks beneath the sand.

Ra carefully circled around the bath, looking for any threats.

He shrugged at the others.
"Nothing milord."
With nothing appearing, he went to the eastern door, and with a grunt of effort opened it.
The door led to the eastern courtyard, which you just cleared, allowing the strong sunlight into the room.
