Xerath intones another spell and crackling lightning erupts between C7 and Mounted Devil 1.

The Beast batters the nearby wounded devil but fails to bring it down and Xerath's arc of lightning catches all three gilded mercenaries off guard badly burning them. The sorcerer's spell fizzles against the devil's barbed flesh and the mount dodges aside avoiding some of it.

Two of the barbed devils continue blasting the flying heroes with dark powers while the others claw at those on the ground. The one tangled in Yahirma's conjured chain tears free and then slashes at the pale shaman.

In a brilliant display of martial prowess, Derek cuts down one hellcat and then a second. The fiends riding the beasts tumble out of their saddles and hiss their frustration at the bardic warrior.


The attacks against his shadow-stuff form bounce harmlessly off of the spirit's hide and magical defenses.

The Beast grabs the offered weapon from Yahirma's hands and with a roar brings it down in a titanic cleaving blow.

As the tiefling speaks deadly arcane energy can be seen dancing along the edge of his immaculate blade.

The newcomer-devil to the battle gestures and the party feels their enchantments begin to fray.

Up above Xerath dances away and fires a life-stealing ray at the Golden Scion but Eccardian easily dodges the entropic spell. A moment later, Yahirma evades her attackers by fading into the spirit world and unravels the enchantment gifting Xerath's attacker with flight causing Eccardian to drift to the ground like a dead leaf. His rage visibly swells as he's denied a chance to attack the sorcerer again.

In a show of might showcasing his body's new strength, Derek muscles free of the devil's embrace.
